Abstract

The lack of reliable and valid instruments to assess creative problem-solving (CPS) in elementary students is a primary problem, especially within evolving educational frameworks. Purpose of this Research: This study aimed to examine the validity and reliability of a CPS assessment instrument focusing on the dimensions of originality, completeness, and practicality to develop a more accurate measurement model. Research Methods: Using a quantitative, cross-sectional design, the data were analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Research Sample: Data were collected from a sample of 150 elementary school students in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Results and Implications: The results indicated that the CPS instrument is best represented by two aspects: originality and completeness, while the practicality aspect was excluded. The implication of this finding is the provision of a refined, valid, and reliable two-factor CPS model. Impact: The impact is that educators now have a more robust tool to accurately measure student creativity, which supports the cultivation of 21st-century skills and informs curriculum development by focusing on empirically supported aspects of creative problem-solving.

Abstract

Background: Children’s literature, particularly bible stories, plays a crucial role in shaping children’s moral values. However, translation quality in children’s bible stories is often overlooked, impacting accuracy and acceptability. This study examines the translation techniques used in Classic Children’s Bible, assessing their influence on translation quality, particularly accuracy and acceptability.Methodology: This descriptive qualitative study is product-oriented research which was focused on 43 children’s Bible stories. Data were collected from Classic Children’s Bible and its Indonesian translation. They were analyzed through content analysis, taxonomy analysis, componential analysis, and cultural theme analysis.Findings: The study found that some techniques influence translation quality in terms of accuracy and acceptability. The mostly used techniques (established equivalence, transposition, and modulation) contribute to accuracy and acceptability. In addition, it also found the translator’s effort in maintaining the original story through correction technique. However, accuracy and acceptability are considered to gain a nearly perfect score because of several techniques (discursive creation and deletion). Conclusion: This study confirms the crucial role of translation techniques in ensuring accuracy and acceptability in children’s Bible story translations. Translation techniques such as established equivalence, transposition, and modulation were effective while discursive creation, deletion, and reduction reduced accuracy.Originality: The translation of children’s Bible stories has been studied primarily in terms of methods, techniques, and quality. Howeverseveral studies examined some linguistic parts, not the whole story. In filling the gap, this study investigated the translation techniques in 43 children’s Bible story translations as the whole story.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a Problem-Based Learning Electronic Student Worksheet to improve learning outcomes in acid-base material for Grade XI students. The research employed a developmental design using the Plomp model, encompassing preliminary investigation, design and prototype development, and assessment phases. Data collection involved expert validation, teacher and student evaluations, and pre-test/post-test assessments with Grade XI students from a public senior high school selected through purposive sampling. The results demonstrated high validity with Aiken's V values of 0.86 for content validity, 0.83 for media validity, and 0.86 for learning validity. Practicality assessment revealed high acceptance with teacher ratings of 4.38 on a five-point scale and 90.46% student acceptance rate. Effectiveness testing showed significant improvement in learning outcomes, with mean scores increasing from 71.61 to 89.44. Statistical analysis using paired sample t-test indicated significant differences with Cohen's d effect size of 2.26, demonstrating substantial educational impact. The study concluded that the Problem-Based Learning Electronic Student Worksheet is valid, practical, and effective for enhancing student learning outcomes in acid-base chemistry, providing a valuable digital learning resource for twenty-first century chemistry education

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is one of the key drivers of prosperity and economic growth in a country. However, in the 21st century, Muslim entrepreneurs appear to lag behind their non-Muslim counterparts. According to Forbes World’s Billionaires List (2021), of the 1,826 global billionaires, the majority are non-Muslim entrepreneurs, while Muslim entrepreneurs are represented only at ranks 191 and 288. This study uses data from the World Bank and the World Values Survey (2010–2021), analyzed through a quantitative approach using a logistic regression model. The results show that among the six indicators of religiosity, only three dimensions have a significant influence on entrepreneurial spirit. Regarding socio-economic conditions, only marital status and income level demonstrate a significant positive effect on entrepreneurship among Muslim communities. The study concludes that married Muslims with higher income levels, who are diligent in prayer and strongly believe in the importance of God and religion in life, tend to have greater enthusiasm and motivation to engage in entrepreneurship. These findings are expected to serve as valuable input for both government and private stakeholders in formulating policies aimed at fostering entrepreneurship within Muslim societies.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the purchase intention of environmentally friendly halal cosmetic products by millennial Muslim generations in Indonesia moderated by knowledge of the environment. This study used a quantitative approach, data were obtained by distributing questionnaires (google form) through WhatsApp and Instagram social media, sampling using a perceptive sampling technique, the number of respondents was 115 people with the withdrawal of the younger generation of women and men aged 15-30 years and living in Indonesia. The research model uses the structural equation modeling–partial least structural (SEM) model with the help of Smart-PLS 3 statistical software analysis. The findings of this study indicate that self-efficacy influences attitudes, eco-label influences halal-green awareness, normative belief variables influences on subjective norms, perceptual behavioral control influences the intention to consume environmentally friendly halal. Furthermore, the presence of environmental knowledge as a moderating variable indicates that this variable does not have a moderating effect on the relationship between attitude variables, green-halal awareness and subjective norms with the intention to consume environmentally friendly halal. However, these variables have a significant direct effect on the intention to consume environmentally friendly halal. This study is one of the comprehensive research on the intention to buy environmentally friendly halal products.
