Abstract

The industrialization framework affects both the environment and society, yielding benefits such as reducing unemployment and improving welfare, but also causing environmental damage like water and air pollution. This research analyzes how public policies on environmental orientation in industrialization impact social-economic and ecological balance, environmental quality, and sustainable development in Bandung, Indonesia, from the perspective of Islamic principles. A quantitative methodology was employed, sampling 106 individuals, including entrepreneurs, civil servants, environmental specialists and public policy experts, and religious leaders from Bandung. A survey measured opinions on the balance of socio- economic and ecological factors related to industrialization with environmental quality and sustainability, all within the framework of Islamic teachings on stewardship (khalifah) and social justice (adl). Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the findings revealed that industrialization significantly impacts social-economic balance, environmental balance, environmental quality, and sustainable development. These findings underscore the importance of balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability and advocate for policies grounded in religious values to achieve this balance.

Abstract

Coffee, a significant plantation product, holds vast opportunities in both domestic and global markets. Bandung Regency is renowned for its distinctive fruit-flavored coffee, particularly from Ciwidey and Puntang, where coffee is marketed in cherry and green bean forms without branding. A value chain analysis is essential to enhance the coffee industry's added value and sustainability. This study aims to identify the coffee value chain in Bandung Regency, analyze the cost of production, total revenue, and profit of the coffee processing industry in Ciwidey and Puntang, and determine the added value of coffee products in these areas. Using descriptive analysis, results indicate that Ciwidey (MS Coffee) has a lower cost of goods produced than Puntang (Acs Siliwangi) due to higher production volumes in Puntang leading to higher costs. However, Puntang’s larger production volume also generates higher monthly revenue and profit due to a higher selling price per kilogram. Value-added analysis reveals that Puntang’s value-added per kilogram (Rp. 55,025.00/kg) surpasses that of Ciwidey (Rp. 44,647.00/kg), attributed to higher selling prices, superior product quality, and greater market presence in Puntang. Conversely, higher input prices in Ciwidey result in lower value-added.

Abstract

Background: As Indonesia's economy is increasingly driven by youth entrepreneurship and innovation, it requires examination of cultural factors and government support to foster entrepreneurial spirit among young people.Purpose: This research empirically investigates the relationship between long-term orientation, power distance, and uncertainty avoidance and how these factors influence the entrepreneurial orientation of young individuals in Bandar Lampung, with the perception of government regulations playing a mediating role. Design/methodology/approach: The study used a quantitative research approach, employing Structural Equation Modeling. The sample consisted of 200 respondents, young entrepreneurs from Bandar Lampung, selected through a simple random sampling method. The analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach with the Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM) technique. Findings/Result: The study found that long-term orientation significantly impacts entrepreneurial orientation. Additionally, it found that power distance and uncertainty avoidance are significant factors in shaping entrepreneurial orientation. Testing the mediating effect of the perception of government regulations indicates a significant role in the relationship between the independent variables and entrepreneurial orientation. The findings of this research indicate that the entrepreneurial mindset of the young generation in Indonesia is moderately influenced by a well-organized environment. Conclusion: The findings underscore the importance of a supportive regulatory environment in fostering entrepreneurial mindset among the youth, prompting policymakers to focus on enhancing regulations to incentivize innovation and streamline procedures for young entrepreneurs.Originality/value (State of the art): The originality of this research lies in its exploration of the interplay between cultural dimensions and government regulations on entrepreneurial orientation, which contributes to the understanding of how socio-cultural factors and regulatory perceptions influence entrepreneurial behavior in emerging economies. Keywords: entrepreneurial orientation, long-term orientation, power distance, uncertainty avoidance, perception of government regulations

Abstract

The gig economy has witnessed rapid growth in recent years, transforming the nature of work and labor markets globally. This paper examines the relationship between government regulation and human resource productivity within the gig economy. It explores the challenges faced by gig workers, including job security, income uncertainty, and the lack of labor protections. The role of government regulation in addressing these challenges and boosting human resource productivity is discussed, with a focus on fair pay, benefits, workplace safety, anti-discrimination laws, and training initiatives. The paper also reviews how productivity is influenced by flexibility and autonomy, and how well-being impacts worker output. Ultimately, the paper argues that well-crafted regulations are essential for enhancing productivity while ensuring fair treatment and opportunities for gig workers.

Abstract

This paper explores the critical legal considerations that organizations must address when managing Human Resources (HR) risks. Effective HR risk management involves aligning employee management practices with legal frameworks to minimize liabilities and protect both employees and employers. By examining key legal areas such as employment contracts, workplace safety, anti-discrimination laws, privacy regulations, and labor unions, this paper demonstrates how legal compliance impacts HR decision-making and employee performance. Through an analysis of case law and organizational strategies, the paper highlights the essential role of HR professionals in mitigating legal risks and creating a legally sound workplace. Recommendations for improving HR risk management practices in compliance with labor laws are also provided.

Abstract

This paper undertakes a comprehensive analysis of the cutting-edge maneuvers in Electronic Customer Relationship Management e-CRM in an e-commerce context, encompassing four significant categories: e-CRM, cost, technology acceptance, and customer satisfaction. It also evaluates the construct developments in these four categories. To assess the effectiveness and accuracy of the measurement model, the method of Structural Equation Modeling was utilized. Gathered data from 167 e-commerce sellers in Bandung, the results showed that e-CRM performance relied heavily on the ability of infrastructure, ease of use, and e-learning systems. The development and integration of these factors led to a positive effect on the effectiveness of the e-CRM. In addition, the findings underscored that customer expenses had a favorable influence on customer relationship performance. Consequently, this relationship performance led to an enhancement in the overall effectiveness of the e-CRM in e-commerce. A managerial implication for each category is also provided, along with suggestions for future research and directions.

Abstract

This study proposes a microservice-oriented machine learning framework to enhance intelligence and scalability in perishable fish cold chain logistics. Unlike conventional monitoring-centric systems, the framework integrates edge–cloud computing with multimodal machine learning models, including random forest for anomaly detection, long short-term memory (LSTM) for spoilage risk prediction, and convolutional neural network (CNN) for visual fish quality classification. The research adopts a design science approach combining literature analysis, field observations at cold storage facilities in Indramayu, Indonesia, and simulation-based validation. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of distributed analytics, modular deployment, and real-time inference within heterogeneous logistics environments. The proposed framework provides a deployable architectural reference for intelligent fisheries cold chain management and supports future large-scale, multi-stakeholder implementation.
