Abstract

Menopause merupakan masa yang pasti dihadapi dalam perjalanan hidup seorang perempuan dan merupakan proses alamiah seiring bertambahnya usia. Meskipun hal tersebut menjadi tahapan yang umum dialami oleh setiap perempuan, banyak yang tetap merasakan kecemasan saat menghadapinya. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan mitra tentang menopause dan permasalahan kesehatannya. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan (perizinan, koordinasi, serta penyiapan bahan dan alat), tahap pelaksanaan (pemberian pendidikan kesehatan), dan tahap evaluasi (meliputi aspek struktur, proses, dan output). Mitra kegiatan adalah kelompok pengajian ibu-ibu yang tergabung dalam Mother School Sumbersari (MOSS), yang beranggotakan sekitar 35 orang perempuan, dengan 29 orang hadir dalam kegiatan. Sebagian besar atau hampir seluruh peserta (95%) merupakan ibu-ibu yang telah mengalami menopause. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa nilai pengetahuan sebelum kegiatan hanya mencapai rata-rata 54,6, namun meningkat menjadi 79,3 setelah kegiatan pendidikan kesehatan.Pendidikan kesehatan yang dilakukan di MOSS menghasilkan meningkatnya pengetahuan mitra tentang menopause dan masalah kesehatannya, baik dari segi pengertian, tanda, penyebab, cara pencegahan, maupun penatalaksanaannya.

Abstract

Adequate sleep is crucial for optimal physiological and physical performance in athletes. This study aims to examine the effects of late-night sleep on cardiovascular responses and fitness levels among futsal athletes at the Muhammadiyah University of Jember. Using a pre-experimental design, ten athletes from the university’s futsal unit were purposively selected as participants. Measurements of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, and cardiorespiratory endurance (VO₂Max) were conducted before and after a three-day period of restricted sleep. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon and paired t-tests. The findings revealed significant increases in systolic and diastolic blood pressure as well as heart rate after the sleep deprivation period, accompanied by a significant decrease in VO₂Max scores (p = 0.021). These results indicate that late-night sleep negatively affects athletes’ fitness by elevating cardiovascular strain and reducing aerobic capacity. The study emphasizes the importance of maintaining proper sleep hygiene as an essential recovery component in athletic training programs to sustain endurance, optimize performance, and prevent fatigue-related declines.

Abstract

Children aged 12-24 months are included in the golden period of the first 1000 days of life, wheretheir nutritional needs greatly affect growth and development in the future. The role of themother is very influential in the upbringing and care of the child. This study aimed to determinethe relationship between parenting style and nutritional status of babies aged 12-24 months atthe Jelbuk Public Health Center, Jember Regency. The research design used was cross-sectional.The sampling technique used proportionate random sampling and obtained a total sample of 97mothers and babies under two years. Mothers were instructed to fill out mother's parentingquestionnaires. The nutritional status of children under two years is measured by weight/ageindicators and interpreted based on the WHO classification of nutritional status. The child'sweight was obtained using a hanging-type scale (dacin). Statistical analysis using Spearman rankwith significance ≤0.05. Most children (50%) of mothers with permissive parenting areunderweight, 47.1% are normal, and 2.9% are at risk of being overweight. Most children (86%)of mothers with democratic parenting have normal nutritional status, and 14% are underweight.Most children (83.3%) of mothers with authoritarian parenting have normal weight, and 16.7%are underweight. There is a relationship between parenting style and the nutritional status ofchildren aged 12-24 months (p value = 0.001; α = 0.05). The application of democratic parentinghas the potential to cause normal weight in children. Therefore, health promotion is neededabout parenting by related parties to mothers of children because parenting affects eating habitsthat impact children's nutritional status.

Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan masalah kesehatan global yang ditandai dengan peningkatan tekanan darah yang konsisten pada nilai ≥140/90 mmHg. Pengobatan hipertensi dapat dilakukan melalui pendekatan farmakologis maupun non-farmakologis. Teh hijau dan kayu manis dikenal memiliki berbagai senyawa bioaktif yang berpotensi memengaruhi tekanan darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh seduhan teh hijau dan kayu manis terhadap tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Pembantu Sumberjeruk, Kalisat, Jember. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi-experimental dengan pendekatan pretest-posttest with control group. Sampel berjumlah 30 pasien hipertensi, dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen (15 orang, menerima seduhan) dan kontrol (15 orang). Pengukuran tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah eksperimen. Data dianalisis dengan paired t-test dan independent t-test (α<0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik pada kelompok eksperimen setelah pemberian seduhan teh hijau dan kayu manis Rata-rata selisih penurunan tekanan darah sistolik pada kelompok intervensi adalah 17,33 mmHg dan diastolik 9,53 mmHg. Sementara itu, pada kelompok kontrol, tidak ditemukan perubahan tekanan darah yang besar. Perbandingan antara kedua kelompok menunjukkan perbedaan penurunan tekanan darah yang sangat signifikan (p-value sistolik = 0,002; p-value diastolik = 0,013). Kesimpulannya, seduhan teh hijau dan kayu manis memiliki efek dalam menurunkan tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji efektivitas terapi bekam (hijamah) dan ruqyah terhadap regulasi tekanan darah dan detak jantung serta peluang sinerginya dalam praktik klinis. Tujuan penelitian adalah menilai bukti fisiologis–psikologis kedua terapi dan merumuskan rekomendasi aplikatif yang selaras dengan tata laksana medis. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka terstruktur terhadap literatur ilmiah (kedokteran komplementer, kardiovaskular, psiko-fisiologi) dan sumber-sumber primer pengobatan Islam (Al-Qur’an, hadis) dengan pendekatan interpretatif-komparatif. Hasil dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa bekam memberikan efek hemodinamik langsung berupa peningkatan perfusi, penurunan resistensi vaskular perifer, penurunan tekanan darah sistolik–diastolik, serta perbaikan variabilitas denyut jantung (HRV). Ruqyah terutama bekerja melalui reduksi stres dan pergeseran otonom ke arah parasimpatis, yang tercermin pada penurunan kecemasan, detak jantung, dan tekanan darah serta peningkatan HRV. Integrasi ruqyah sebelum bekam secara rasional berpotensi memberi efek aditif pada sumbu neuro–kardio–endokrin, sekaligus menurunkan respons stres prosedural. Simpulan: bekam dan ruqyah layak diposisikan sebagai terapi komplementer yang aman dan terjangkau untuk membantu pengendalian hipertensi dan stabilitas denyut, dengan perhatian pada seleksi pasien, kontraindikasi, asepsis, dan monitoring vital. Saran: perlunya standardisasi protokol (titik, durasi, “dosis” cawan; durasi dan materi ruqyah) serta uji acak terkontrol jangka panjang dengan luaran klinis, metrik HRV, dan biomarker stres untuk memperkuat validitas dan panduan praktik.

Abstract

Panti Asuhan sebagai lembaga pengasuhan alternatif memiliki peran penting dalam memenuhi kebutuhan dasar anak, termasuk kebutuhan kesehatan, gizi, dan sanitasi. Sebagai upaya untuk menjaga dan memelihara kesehatan secara mandiri, anak panti memerlukan pengetahuan yang baik. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan mitra tentang perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS). Metode: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu: 1. Persiapan (perijinan, koordinasi, dan menyiapkan bahan dan alat), pelaksanaan (pendidikan kesehatan), dan evaluasi (struktur, proses, dan output). Hasil: Jumlah anak panti yang ada di Mitra sebanyak 13 orang dengan usia antara 10 – 20 tahun, pendidikan SD s.d. perguruan tinggi, dan 2 orang pengasuh panti asuhan. Nilai pra pendidikan kesehatan tentang PHBS anak panti rata-rata 45, dan setelah pendidikan kesehatan meningkat menjadi 85. Kesimpulan: Edukasi mempunyai peranan penting dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan anak panti tentang perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS).

Abstract

Fasting is a religious practice that not only holds spiritual significance in Islamic teachings but also contributes substantially to the body's physiological repair. This study aims to examine the relationship between Islamic fasting—particularly Ramadan and sunnah fasting—and cellular repair processes through biological mechanisms such as autophagy, cell regeneration, and mitochondrial function enhancement. Using an integrative literature review method, this study synthesized findings from scientific and Islamic sources retrieved from databases including PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar from 2015 to 2025. The findings reveal that fasting positively affects systemic inflammation reduction, improved insulin sensitivity, metabolic regulation, and the prevention of premature aging and degenerative diseases. Moreover, fasting strengthens psychological and spiritual dimensions, supporting mental health and enhancing emotional resilience. This synergy between biological and spiritual benefits highlights fasting as a holistic health strategy. The study affirms that Islamic values align with modern preventive health principles and offer a solid foundation for spiritually based health promotion. Further research is recommended to evaluate specific biomarkers related to fasting-induced cell regeneration.

Abstract

Sunnah cupping therapy is a traditional Islamic health practice increasingly embraced for its spiritual and therapeutic benefits. However, its widespread use, especially by uncertified practitioners, raises serious concerns about patient safety and emergency risks. This study aims to identify key systemic risk factors of medical emergencies related to sunnah cupping and propose an integrative framework combining Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) with modern clinical standards. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed using a systematic literature review of peer-reviewed journals, clinical reports, Islamic texts, and contemporary fatwas. Thematic analysis revealed five major risk categories: lack of medical screening, unlicensed practitioners, hidden comorbidities, absence of emergency protocols, and poor understanding of medical safety. Reported complications included hypovolemic shock, infections, and prolonged wound healing—especially in patients with undiagnosed diabetes or coagulation disorders. The study also found that public misconceptions equating religious merit with clinical safety further worsen these risks. The research highlights the urgent need for standardized medical and sharia-based training, certification systems, and public education. Collaboration among healthcare professionals, Islamic scholars, and educational institutions is essential to establish a safe, accountable, and spiritually valid model of sunnah cupping. Integrating medical protocols with fiqh compliance can significantly reduce emergency incidents, enhance practitioner competency, and preserve the prophetic nature of the practice within a modern health framework. These findings offer a strategic path for safer implementation of prophetic medicine across Muslim communities.

Abstract

Sunnah cupping therapy (hijamah) is a form of prophetic medicine that combines spiritual and therapeutic dimensions but often lacks adherence to clinical safety standards. This study aims to analyze the urgency of integrating Sharia values—particularly maqashid shariah (protection of life) and la dharara wa la dhirar—with emergency medical protocols in sunnah cupping practice. The research uses a normative-qualitative literature review method. Data were collected from recent academic sources and analyzed through content analysis to develop an ethical and procedural framework. Findings reveal that sunnah cupping carries clinical risks such as infection, bleeding, and vasovagal shock when performed without medical protocols. The integration of Sharia and medical principles is operationalized through emergency training, Islamic-based SOPs, and education-regulation mechanisms rooted in maqashid. Core Islamic ethics—such as ikhlas (intention), amanah (trust), and tathir al-adawat (sterilization)—are essential moral pillars within the clinical service model. This study concludes that the integration of Sharia values with emergency medical preparedness is a critical need in the practice of sunnah cupping. The study recommends the development of standardized curricula, clinic certification, and first aid (CPR) training for therapists to ensure safety, professionalism, and religious legitimacy.

Abstract

Sunnah cupping therapy (al-hijamah) is a popular Islamic healing method practiced globally. Despite its spiritual roots, it poses clinical risks, including infections, vasovagal shock, and procedural inconsistencies, often due to non-sterile tools and untrained practitioners. This study aims to explore how Islamic ethical values—sincerity (ikhlas), trust (amanah), and halal compliance—can be integrated with clinical responsibilities such as sterilization protocols, informed consent, and therapist competency. A thematic qualitative literature review was conducted using Islamic jurisprudence, fatwas (DSN-MUI), WHO and Ministry of Health (Indonesia) guidelines from 2015–2025. Findings reveal that neglecting the maqashid sharia principle of hifzh an-nafs (protection of life) contradicts both Islamic ethics and medical safety. Sunnah cupping services rooted in both spiritual values and professional protocols are more trusted by Muslim patients and improve therapeutic legitimacy. This study highlights the urgent need for national SOPs, certified training, and the development of Islamic cupping clinics with integrated protocols. These clinics can serve as models of sharia-compliant, clinically responsible health services. The research offers practical recommendations for Islamic medical institutions and policy-makers in strengthening Islamic-based complementary therapies in modern healthcare systems.
