Abstract

This research aims to find out how giving Ujrah to land owners improves the welfare of casual daily workers in Lubuk Tabun Village, Tanjung Sakti Pumi District. Lahat. This type of research uses qualitative descriptive research with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The primary data in this research are land owners and casual daily workers. The research results state that land owner literacy regarding the ujrah granting system is still very low due to: firstly, lack of understanding, land owners do not yet understand what ujrah is and how it works financially. Second, there is a lack of financial education, there is no adequate education regarding finances and debt management. Third, limited access to accurate and easy to understand information regarding ujrah by land owners, fourth, limited resources, land owners do not have the resources to obtain consultation or training. Abstract

This study analyzes the financial performance of BPRS Fadhilah and BPRS Maslahat Dana Syariah Nusantara in Bengkulu City using the Economic Value Added (EVA) method. EVA is selected as a performance indicator because it measures the economic value generated by a company after deducting the cost of capital, providing a clearer picture of value creation for investors and shareholders. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach, using secondary data obtained from the official financial reports of each bank for the 2023 period. In Indonesia, Islamic banks are classified into three categories: Islamic commercial banks, Islamic business units, and Sharia Rural Credit Banks (BPRS). BPRS primarily focus on providing financing to micro and small enterprises, rather than offering standard payment services. The results show that BPRS Fadhilah recorded a negative EVA, indicating a failure to generate economic value for its investors. Conversely, BPRS Maslahat Dana Syariah Nusantara reported a positive EVA, demonstrating its ability to deliver added value and manage capital effectively. These findings highlight the importance of sound capital management and profitability in enhancing the financial performance of Islamic rural banks.

Abstract

This study investigates the empowerment of khairi waqf in advancing educational and healthcare services within a rural Indonesian context, specifically in Sido Sari Village, Sukaraja District, Seluma Regency. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis involving nazirs, village officials, educators, healthcare workers, and beneficiaries. Findings reveal that khairi waqf played a pivotal role in establishing early childhood education (PAUD), madrasah, and community health services (posyandu), significantly improving access and equity for marginalized populations. The waqf initiatives were deeply embedded in local participation, reflecting the values of sadaqah jariyah, ta‘awun (mutual cooperation), and hifz al-nafs and hifz al-‘aql as core principles of maqashid shariah. However, the study also identifies challenges related to limited operational funding, untrained nazirs, policy fragmentation, and declining youth engagement in waqf literacy. These issues underscore the need for transitioning from static to productive waqf models, formalizing multi-level governance, and integrating waqf into local development and religious education frameworks. This research contributes to the discourse on Islamic social finance and rural development by offering a context-sensitive model of waqf empowerment that combines spiritual intent, professional governance, and grassroots synergy.

Abstract

The use of cadar for women in Indonesia has always been a polemic lately, often causing negative stigma. This study describes the critical analysis of hadith on the legal status of cadar for women through the approach of the concept of religious moderation in Indonesia. The research used is library research using a qualitative approach, collecting data from research sources in the form of books (hadith books), journals and other relevant readings, then analyzed using descriptive methods. The result of this study is that the cadar is a continuation of the jilbab as a covering for the awrah of believers in the Quran al-Ahzab verse 59. According to the hadith of the Prophet narrated by Abu Daud that the aurah of a believer woman is other than the face and palm and the ability to see this part of the woman before proposing. According to the principles and indicators of religious moderation, the wearing of the cadar for women believers in Indonesia does not reflect the concept of balance in religious practices and attitudes because it does not include fashion or culture of the archipelago. The conclusion of this study is that women believers do not wear a cadar in Indonesia does not mean that they do not cover their aurat, because the cadar is also related to the local culture.

Abstract

This research was conducted at Penjahit Uli in Bengkulu City using a qualitative method. The informants included business owners and 10 customers of Penjahit Uli in Bengkulu City, selected based on their knowledge and experience related to the issues under investigation. Data were collected through interviews with informants as primary data, and from research references, books, journals, and hadiths as secondary data. The research findings indicate that wage payment practices at Penjahit Uli in Bengkulu City are done twice: an initial payment (down payment/DP) upon fabric delivery and full payment upon completion of the sewing. However, not all customers are aware of the wage amount initially because Penjahit Uli does not disclose it, and customers do not inquire about it. This is due to mutual trust between both parties. After the sewing is completed, Penjahit Uli determines the wage amount, and customers pay in full without negotiation. From the perspective of Islamic Economics, the wage payment practice at Penjahit Uli in Bengkulu City falls under ijarah al-a’mal. This practice complies with general provisions, specifically number seven, regarding ijarah al-a’mal as stated in the fatwa DSN-MUI, NO.12/DSN-MUI/IX/2017. Furthermore, the wage provided is deemed appropriate, meets needs, is fair, and adheres to the agreed-upon timeframe.
