Abstract

This study examines the concept of Barakah within the Haul (annual commemoration) of Guru Sekumpul by addressing a key research gap: although Barakah is widely invoked in Islamic discourse, its operational meaning and socio-economic manifestations in contemporary Muslim communities remain underexplored. The research investigates how Barakah functions as spirituality-based social capital that shapes collective behavior and community welfare in Banjar society, South Kalimantan. Using textual data from fatwas, documents, and interviews, complemented by ethnographic observations, the study applies teleological interpretation and content analysis to identify how Barakah is articulated, practiced and socially reproduced during the Haul. The findings indicate, first, that Barakah is conceptualized not merely as divine favor but as an integrated moral framework linking livelihood, emotional composure and communal benefit. Second, Barakah operates as a catalyst for voluntary service, trust-building and large-scale mutual aid, thereby strengthening the community’s social capital. Third, the Haul further ‘institutionalizes’ Islamic economic values, particularly maslahah and falah, hrough routinized acts of charity and cooperation. These insights demonstrate that Barakah serves both spiritual and socio-economic functions, offering an empirical model of how religious rituals can reinforce ethical development practices.

Abstract

This study presents a bibliometric analysis of the stablecoin literature indexed in Scopus from 2019 to 2026. Using the PRISMA protocol for literature selection and the Bibliometrix package in R for analysis, a total of 69 articles from 47 journals were examined. The results show an annual growth rate of 21.9%, with a peak of 19 articles published in 2024. The United States dominates research output, while the Journal of Risk and Financial Management is the most productive source. Lyons (2023) is the most cited document with 87 citations. Co-occurrence keyword mapping and thematic analysis identify blockchain, decentralized finance, and cryptocurrency as core research themes. At the same time, monetary policy, digital currencies, and central banks are emerging as frontier topics. Collaboration networks reveal fragmented clusters with limited cross-institutional integration. A significant research gap has been identified, including limited representation of developing countries, restricted regulatory analysis, and a lack of machine learning approaches. This research contributes to a structured knowledge map of stablecoins and provides a strategic agenda for future interdisciplinary research.

Abstract

South Kalimantan’s regional economy remains strongly dependent on the mining and quarrying sector, raising concerns about growth persistence and structural dependence. While numerous studies have examined regional economic growth, they predominantly relied on static panel models that fail to capture dynamic adjustments and potential endogeneity issues inherent in macroeconomic. The objective of this research is to analyze the dynamic relationship between exogenous variables and economic growth in South Kalimantan and to address gaps in previous research. The method employed in this study is the Arellano–Bond Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), using balanced panel data from 12 regencies/cities in South Kalimantan over the period 2017–2025. The results indicate that lagged economic growth, the mining and quarrying sector, and realized investment have a significant and positive effect on regional economic growth. The short-run elasticity further indicates that mining and quarrying generate a stronger growth response than realized investment, confirming the continued dominance of extractive activities in the regional economy. These findings imply that South Kalimantan’s growth is dynamic but remains structurally dependent on resource-based sectors. Therefore, regional governments should optimize mining contributions by strengthening environmental governance, accelerating economic diversification, improving investor-related public services, and strengthening linkages among investment, local labor absorption, and MSME development.

Abstract

Introduction: This study examines how social media marketing contributes to brand loyalty in Indonesia’s food and beverage (F&B) industry by explicitly testing customer engagement as the mediating mechanism, addressing prior debate on whether social media influences loyalty directly or primarily through engagement while highlighting the study’s novelty in demonstrating a partial mediation model in which the indirect pathway is slightly stronger than the direct effect. Methods: A quantitative survey was conducted with 400 millennial and Generation Z consumers selected using purposive (criterion-based) sampling from online communities of F&B brand followers on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Data were collected through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire and analysed using SEM-PLS with bootstrapping procedures. Results: The findings indicate that social media significantly affects customer engagement (β = 0.68; p < 0.001) and brand loyalty directly (β = 0.40; p < 0.01). In addition, social media influences brand loyalty indirectly through customer engagement (β = 0.401; p < 0.01), confirming a partial mediation model in which customer engagement serves as a mediator and the indirect pathway is slightly stronger than the direct pathway. Conclusion: Brand loyalty in the F&B industry is not generated merely through social media presence but through the effective management of consumers’ cognitive, emotional, and behavioural engagement. Social media functions as a strategic managerial tool when it is leveraged to foster meaningful and interactive engagement, which represents the more dominant pathway in strengthening loyalty.
