Abstract

Bullying behavior remains a serious issue in elementary school settings, particularly in verbal and social forms that negatively affect students’ psychological well-being and the overall school climate. This study aimed to implement and examine the effectiveness of psychoeducation on the dangers of bullying as a preventive intervention among elementary school students. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest format. The participants were sixth-grade students of UPT SD Negeri 26 Gresik who were identified as having tendencies toward bullying behavior. Data were collected through a bullying questionnaire administered before and after the psychoeducational intervention to measure students’ understanding and tendencies related to bullying behavior. Prior to its use, the instrument was tested and confirmed to be valid and reliable for measuring bullying-related constructs. The psychoeducation program was conducted intensively through structured sessions focusing on the definition, forms, psychological impacts, and prevention of bullying. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test indicated a significant difference between pretest and posttest results, showing a reduction in bullying tendencies and an increase in students’ awareness and preventive attitudes. These findings demonstrate that psychoeducation on the dangers of bullying is an effective intervention for reducing bullying behavior and fostering prosocial awareness among elementary school students. This study highlights the importance of integrating psychoeducational programs into school-based guidance and counseling services to promote a safe, supportive, and bullying-free school environment.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence is a crucial competency for vocational high school students in managing academic demands, social interactions, and preparation for entering the workforce. Preliminary findings indicate that many students experience difficulties in recognizing, understanding, and regulating their emotions adaptively. This program aimed to enhance students’ emotional intelligence through emotion regulation psychoeducation delivered in three structured sessions, including emotional awareness, identification of emotional triggers and calming strategies, and management of negative thoughts and emotional responses. The program was implemented at SMK X and involved 31 eleventh-grade TKR students using an educational and participatory approach through learning modules, self-reflection, group discussions, and emotional skill exercises. Program effectiveness was evaluated using a pre-test and post-test design with an emotional intelligence assessment instrument. The results demonstrated an increase in the mean emotional intelligence score from 92.6 prior to the intervention to 101.8 following the intervention. N-Gain Score analysis revealed that most participants showed low to moderate improvement, while a small proportion achieved high improvement. Overall, emotion regulation psychoeducation positively contributed to students’ ability to recognize emotions, understand emotional triggers, and apply more constructive emotional management strategies. These findings suggest that psychoeducational interventions can serve as a practical preventive approach to fostering emotional intelligence and supporting a more adaptive, positive, and supportive school environment. ABSTRAKKecerdasan emosional merupakan kompetensi esensial bagi peserta didik Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) dalam menghadapi tuntutan akademik, interaksi sosial, dan kesiapan memasuki dunia kerja. Temuan awal menunjukkan bahwa sebagian siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengenali, memahami, dan mengelola emosi secara adaptif. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan kecerdasan emosional siswa melalui psikoedukasi regulasi emosi yang disusun dalam tiga sesi bertahap, meliputi pengenalan emosi, identifikasi pemicu serta strategi penenangan diri, dan pengelolaan pikiran serta respons emosional negatif. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMK X dengan melibatkan 31 siswa kelas XI TKR menggunakan pendekatan edukatif-partisipatif melalui modul pembelajaran, refleksi diri, diskusi kelompok, dan latihan keterampilan emosional. Evaluasi efektivitas program dilakukan menggunakan desain pre-test dan post-test dengan instrumen kecerdasan emosional. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata kecerdasan emosional dari 92,6 sebelum intervensi menjadi 101,8 setelah intervensi. Analisis N-Gain Score mengindikasikan bahwa sebagian besar peserta mengalami peningkatan pada kategori rendah hingga sedang, sementara sebagian kecil mencapai kategori tinggi. Secara keseluruhan, psikoedukasi regulasi emosi berkontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa mengenali emosi, memahami pemicu, serta menerapkan strategi pengelolaan emosi secara lebih konstruktif. Program ini berpotensi menjadi intervensi preventif yang aplikatif untuk mendukung perkembangan sosial-emosional siswa dan menciptakan iklim sekolah yang lebih adaptif dan kondusif.

Abstract

Role Stress is a significant psychological risk factor in industrial settings, potentially leading to reduced work performance and poor employee well-being. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of a Coping Stress Training program as an intervention to reduce the level of role stress experienced by employees at PT. Metal Hitech Engineering. This research employed a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The participants were employees as PT. Metal Hitech Engineering who had been identified as having moderate to high levels of role stress. Role stress levels were measured using a validated questionnaire administered during the pre-test and post-test phases. The data obtained were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test to compare mean scores before and after the intervention. The statistical analysis revealed a significant decrease (P < 0.05) in the mean role stress scores in the post-test condition compared to the pre-test scores. This substantial reduction demonstrates that the Coping Stress Training was effective in mitigating role-related pressure and stress among the participants. The Coping Stress Training is proven to be an effective psychological intervention for reducing role stress in employees. These findings underscore the importance of integrating psychological-based stress management programs into organizational health and safety initiatives to maintain optimal employee function and productivity.

Abstract

Background: Fine motor skills play an important role in child development. Lack of parental stimuli and the influence of the social environment during the child's golden age can be factors of developmental delays. Community as a part of society can play a role in fulfilling these needs. Objective: This study aims to explore children's fine motor skills development in the "X" community after implementing playdough intervention. Method: This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with the subjects being five children from the "X" community, aged 6-10 years, and having poor fine motor skills selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data was collected through observation during the intervention and the results of the Frostigg test. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative descriptive method. Result: The results of this study indicate that children's fine motor skills increased after the study using playdough.. Conclusion: Playdough has been proven to help develop children's fine motor skills in the "X" community. Playdough can be used as an easy and inexpensive play media solution to improve children's fine motor skills.

Abstract

Background: Stigma in society regarding gender is something that has various characteristics, both female and male. Likewise in terms of social support, women who are often considered gentle, and men who are often considered more assertive, can provide social support to ABK (Children with Special Needs) students differently. Objective: The purpose of this study was to empirically determine the differences in Peer Social Support for ABK (Children with Special Needs) Students Reviewed from Gender. Method: This study involved the population of Public Elementary Schools in Surabaya that permitted research with accidental sampling techniques, obtaining 114 respondents. Data was collected using a social support questionnaire and biodata to determine the respondents' gender. Result: Based on the results of the hypothesis testing, the Mann-Whitney test score was obtained with a p-value of 0.209, meaning that there was no significant difference between peer social support for ABK (Children with Special Needs) students of female and male gender. Conclusion: The findings of this study are narrowed down from previous studies, namely here focusing on peer social support.

Abstract

Saat ini banyak dari seseorang beranggapan bahwa apakah tubuhnya memiliki bentuk dan ukuran yang ideal. Mereka menganggap bahwa tubuh mereka terlalu gendut atau kurus, merasa kulitnya kurang putih dan lain sebagainya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh body image terhadap kepercayaan diri di media sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif yang melibatkan mahasisiwi Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik dengan teknik purposive sampling, diperoleh jumlah sampel sebesar 135 mahasiswa. Pengumpulan data diberoleh dengan menggunakan skala body image dan Kepercayaan Diri di media sosial instagram. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu Ha diterima yang artinya terdapat pengaruh body image terhadap kepercayaan diri di media sosial instagram. Body image memberikan sumbangsih sebesar 12% terhadap variabel kepercayaan diri di media sosial instagram, hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi body image yang dimiliki seseorang maka semakin tinggi juga kepercayaan diri di media sosial instagram pada diri mahasiswi. Sebaliknya semakin rendah body image yang dimliki seseorang maka semakin rendah pula kepercayaan diri di media sosial yang ada pada diri mahasiswi.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication-Handicapped Children) method as a psychological mentoring strategy to foster independence among children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at UPT SDN 253 Gresik. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the researcher designed and implemented a structured intervention program for a first-grade student diagnosed with ASD, based on observations, interviews, and documentation. The TEACCH-based intervention focused on structured learning environments, visual schedules, and individualized education programs (IEPs). The findings showed that TEACCH implementation helped the child demonstrate significant progress in emotional regulation, social interaction, and task independence, such as putting on shoes and organizing learning materials. The structured environment and consistent visual cues effectively reduced maladaptive behavior and enhanced the child's focus during class activities. This study highlights that the TEACCH method can be an effective psychological mentoring approach for increasing independence in children with autism, especially in inclusive elementary education settings.
