Abstract

This community service aims to introduce and train the use of the Active Motor Card as an effective physical education evaluation tool for PJOK teachers who graduated from PPG State University of Malang. Evaluation in physical education often faces obstacles, such as time constraints and the complexity of measuring students' motor skills. Active Motor Card is presented as an innovative solution that can simplify the assessment process and provide accurate and structured results. This activity involves intensive training for PJOK teachers to understand the concepts, techniques for using and implementing evaluations using the Active Motor Card in the school environment. The methods used include theoretical presentations, direct practice, and question and answer sessions. The results of the activity showed that teachers felt better prepared to carry out comprehensive and accurate evaluations of students' motor skills. This is in accordance with the results of the pre-post test carried out by the teacher showing a significance level of <0.1. This program is expected to become a model for the development of physical education evaluation in various schools.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a valid and reliable learning evaluation instrument. This research uses the development of this learning evaluation instrument using a development model based on Lee &; Owens theory, namely ADDIE, where this development model consists of 5 stages , namely Analysis , Design , Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Data collection in this study used a small scale of 40 samples and a large scale of 80 samples. Data analysis techniques by determining validity and reliability using IBM SPSS. From the results of the validity test carried out on the scale, namely the value of Rcalculate > Rtabel where if the results of Rcalculate > Rtabel then it can be declared that the instrument is valid. Meanwhile, in the validity test on a large scale, the results obtained are the value of Rcalculate > Rtabel where if the results of Rcalculate > Rtabel then it can be stated that the instrument is valid. In addition to validity tests, researchers also use reliability tests on small and large scales. In the results of small-scale reliability tests, the results obtained are Cronbach's Alpha value > 0.60, which means that the instrument has a high reliability value. And in large-scale reliability tests, the results obtained are Cronbach's Alpha value > 0.60, which means that the instrument has a high reliability value. The PJOK assessment instrument for athletic material for grade VII SMP/MTs students has proven to be valid and reliable. There is a need for further studies related to instrument development, where the instrument is still at the development stage where the data obtained is only validity and reliability data on a small and large scale, the instrument still needs to be evaluated so that the shortcomings that still exist can be corrected and addressed

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' skills through the cooperative learning model Team Games Tournament (TGT) in the subject of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK), specifically on the topic of underhand volleyball passing at SMAN Taruna Nala, East Java. The research procedure uses Action Research in Sports, which includes four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted over two cycles, with two meetings in each cycle. The Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model creates a different learning atmosphere by allowing students to learn through competitive games. The results showed an improvement in learning outcomes as measured by students' mastery scores. In the initial stage (pre-test), only 15% of students achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC ≥ 75). After cycle 1, the number of students who met the criteria increased to 41%, and in cycle 2, it reached 78%. This improvement indicates that the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model helps students better understand the material before practice, enhances motor skills, and encourages active participation in learning. Therefore, the implementation of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) model has proven effective in improving underhand volleyball passing skills and is considered a viable alternative for PJOK learning, particularly within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to explore students’ perceptions of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning at SMAN Taruna Nala, a boarding school with a semi-military education system in East Java, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative approach through survey methods, the study involved 151 students from grades X and XI as respondents. A Likert-scale questionnaire was used to measure three main dimensions: enjoyment, challenges and fatigue, and benefits of PJOK learning. The results showed that students had a very positive perception regarding the enjoyment and benefits of PJOK, with average scores falling under the “Very Good” category. Meanwhile, the dimension of challenges and fatigue was categorized as “Fair,” indicating the presence of physical demands without significantly reducing students’ enthusiasm for PJOK. These findings suggest that despite the physically demanding and highly disciplined environment, students perceive PJOK as an enjoyable and meaningful subject that supports both physical and psychological development. The study highlights the importance of adaptive teaching approaches in PJOK, particularly in educational settings with unique characteristics such as semi-military schools.

Abstract

Abstract

Individual factors and school environments shape the physical fitness of elementary school students, yet comparative evidence across urban–rural contexts by gender and facility support remains limited. This study examined (1) gender-specific differences in EUROFIT performance between urban and rural schools and (2) the association between school facility support and assets (SEFEI) with students’ fitness. A cross-sectional design involved grade 4–6 students (n = 135; ages 9–12) from one urban and one rural school. Fitness was assessed using the complete EUROFIT battery, while the SEFEI index (0–7) captured availability of space, equipment, personnel, and scheduled activities. Analyses used descriptive statistics, group comparisons, and ANCOVA controlling for age and BMI. Results showed boys scored higher than girls on total EUROFIT and strength–speed components, particularly in the bent-arm hang and 10 × 5 m shuttle run. Urban–rural differences were not significant. Urban schools had higher SEFEI scores (+68%) and slightly better fitness outcomes. BMI was a significant covariate, and no sex-by-location interaction emerged. Overall, gender differences were more influential than location, and positive trends between SEFEI and EUROFIT highlight the need to improve facility access and structured physical activity programs in low-resource schools.
