Abstract

Critical thinking is vital for academic and professional success in the 21st century. However, many students, particularly in Indonesia, face difficulties in developing higher-order thinking skills. This challenge necessitates effective instructional strategies that promote critical thinking in educational environments. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA protocol to identify and evaluate constructivist learning models that support critical thinking development. A total of 30 empirical studies published between 2015 and 2024 were selected through systematic identification, screening, and inclusion processes. Thematic analysis was conducted to extract insights on the implementation and effectiveness of five constructivist approaches: Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning (PjBL), Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL), Collaborative Learning (CL), and Discovery Learning (DL). Findings indicate that all five models significantly enhance students’ critical thinking skills. PBL and PjBL were the most frequently studied and demonstrated strong outcomes in problem-solving, analysis, and collaboration. IBL and DL promoted curiosity and autonomous learning, while CL was effective in fostering group discussion and collective problem-solving. Constructivist learning models offer substantial benefits in cultivating critical thinking. However, their effectiveness relies heavily on factors such as institutional support, teacher preparedness, and cultural context. Constructivist approaches are effective pedagogical tools for enhancing critical thinking. Future studies should further investigate model-specific challenges and explore their adaptation in varied educational contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model to student engagement in Basic Accounting in class X of SMK Negeri 3 Palembang. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the PjBL model has been applied across the stages of learning syntax, including problem identification, project design, implementation, and evaluation. The project is a simulation of a laundry business unit that has been proven to significantly increase student engagement. Student engagement is reflected in enthusiasm for learning, active participation in group discussions, cooperation among members, and responsibility for completing the project. In addition, students feel that learning is more interesting, easier to understand, and more relevant to real life, thereby increasing their motivation to learn. However, some students remain less active and need additional guidance and motivation. Overall, the PjBL model is effective in increasing student engagement and understanding in Basic Accounting and is worthy of wider application in SMK.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap keaktifan siswa pada mata pelajaran Akuntansi Dasar di kelas X SMK Negeri 3 Palembang.

Abstract

The problem in this study is whether there is an effect of smartphone use on student learning outcomes at SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an influence of smartphones on economic learning outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic at Srijaya Negara Palembang High School. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method. And for data analysis used is questionnaire data analysis, questionnaire data analysis, normality test, linearity test, simple regression test, calculation of the coefficient of determination and t test with a population of class XI IPS, sampling is done by sampling saturated is a sampling technique if all population members are used as samples. The sample is part of the population that has relatively the same characteristics and is considered to be representative of the population so that as many as 60 students are obtained. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. Based on the discussion of the research results, the use of smartphones is categorized as having a good positive impact on students of SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang in the 2021/2022 academic year of 77.12 in the Strong category. Enough". The normality test of the data on the independent variable (x) of smartphone utilization is X2count 20.6 < X2table 90.5. And for the dependent variable (y) learning outcomes are X2count 33.8 < X2table 90.5. the regression equation is = 0.016 + 0.018x "t" test with a significance level = 005/2 = 0.0025 then look for ttable on the t distribution with the provisions db = n-2 = 60-2 = 58 so that tadb = t(0, 05,58) = 2,000 the purpose of comparing ttable with tcount is to find out whether HO is rejected or accepted based on the above test rules, then tcount> ttable is 3.1742>2,000 then Ha is accepted. This means that there is an effect of using a smartphone on the results of case study economics during the COVID-19 pandemic at Srijaya Negara Palembang High School.

Abstract

The main challenge is now the ASEAN free trade area or Asean Economic Community for education, to prepare quality human resources. Guru is one of the parties, which are crucial for preparing human resources to compete and adapt to global developments. Teachers are required to meet the standards of competence, namely: pedagogical, professional, and social personalities in addition, teachers must actively for training, seminars, research, and continuing education. In an effort to provide the best learning experience for students, one of the effective models that should be controlled by the teacher, is learning inquiry, which has four methods that can be applied in accordance with the demands of teaching material competence, namely; confirmation of the investigation, structured, guided and open inquiry. Methods of investigation are very suitable to be applied to the material abstract and mathematical formulas though, experience researching the problem, improve the ability to think critically and creatively and expanding the horizons of students.
