Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a degenerative disease caused by genetic and environmental factors. Therefore, patients with DM type 2 requires regular control. One of the health facilities that allows a fine control and follow up over patients with DM is telemedicine. This study aimed to estimate the average effectiveness of telemedicine on glycemic management (HbA1C) of patients with DM type 2. The current research employed a systematic review with meta-analysis research design. The subjects of the study were articles published in 2005 - 2021. The article search was conducted for a maximum of 1 month over journal databases: PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The primary study employed Randomized Controlled Trial with articles search according to the established PICO model, where P (Population), in this sense, patients suffering from DM type 2, I (Intervention) which was Telemedicine, C (Comparison) or non-telemedicine, and O (Outcome), which was glycemic management (HbA1c). A total of 10 primary studies were assessed with Critical Appraisal Center for Evidence-Based Medicine (CEBM). The results demonstrated that telemedicine is effective in glycemic management (HbA1c) of DM type-2 patients with a p-value of <0.05, namely p<0.04 and a standardized mean difference (SMD) value of -0.24 (95% CI, -0.34 to -0.15). The results of this meta-analysis provide strong scientific evidence regarding the benefits of telemedicine in lowering HbA1c levels in patients with type 2 DM.

Abstract

Efforts to reduce the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) during the neonatal period include carrying out bonding attachments. There are various ways to support the occurrence of bonding attachment between mother and baby, including the implementation of rooming in and exclusive breastfeeding after delivery (Wijaya et al., 2023). By implementing rooming in, it’s hoped that a good bonding attachment will be created between mother and baby it will have an impact on breastfeeding to support increased achievement of exclusive breastfeeding. This study used a cross-sectional method, with a population of 86 postpartum mothers. Using a purposive sampling technique, the sample was 50 mothers, consisting of 25 spontaneous postpartum mothers and 25 SC postpartum mothers. The results of the study, 84% of postpartum mothers have a good bonding. Based on the Chi-Square test, the result was p=0.000<0.05, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, which means there is a relationship between rooming in and bonding attachment in post partum mothers. The distribution of data from 2 groups after the normality test was performed not normal, then a statistical test of the difference between 2 groups using Mann-Whitney U test with the result p = 0.445> 0.05, there was no significant difference between the spontaneous postpartum mother group and the postpartum SC mother group. Hopefully that this research can be developed with a different research design as support for efforts to achieve exclusive breastfeeding.

Used statistical tests chi-square to determine the relationship between the two variables . The results of the study from 32 respondents were obtained by most respondents of the High Breastfeeding Self Efficacy criteria as many as 20 respondents (62.5%). And found most respondents of the smooth breast milk criteria as many as 18 respondents (56.3%). Analyzes using Chi-Square statistical test obtained the results of p = 0.01 <0.05 then H0 was rejected and H1 accepted which means there is a relationship between breastfeeding self efficacy on smooth breast milk in breastfeeding mothers in the region Gedung Negara Health Center. Changes in mindset and self-motivation greatly affect the habits and parenting styles for mothers and babies. Abstract

Background: Breastfeeding is essential for providing newborns with necessary nutrients crucial for growth and development. Lactation management involves preparing mothers and families to support successful breastfeeding. Self-efficacy, or a mother's confidence in her ability to breastfeed, influences her decision to breastfeed and her response to challenges.Method: This study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design, focusing on third-trimester primigravida mothers in the Tarus Community Health Center working area, Kupang Regency, with a population of 67. Using purposive sampling, the study evaluated the impact of education on lactation management and family support on breastfeeding self-efficacy.Result: The Wilcoxon test results showed a significant improvement in self-efficacy after the intervention (Asym.Sig = 0.000, p < 0.05).Conclusion: These findings suggest that providing education on lactation management and family support can significantly enhance breastfeeding self-efficacy in expectant mothers, thereby promoting successful breastfeeding practices.
