Abstract

Abstrak-Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan nilai-nilai moral dalam lagu tradisional Nias “Ba wekoligu” pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitiannya yaitu lagu dengan objek penelitian yakni nilai-nilai moral yang terdapat dalam lagu. Sedangkan desain penelitian yang digunakan yakni analisis konten dan interpretasi rangkaian teks/syair dalam lagu tradisional Nias “Ba wekoligu”. Instrumen penelitiannya adalah dokumen dalam bentuk syair lagu. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah peneliti mengemukakan  nilai-nilai moral dalam lagu tradisional Nias “Ba wekoligu” Karya Faons Gea yakni nilai moral kesadaran sebanyak 2 data dengan hasil presentase 75%, dan nilai moral tanggung jawab sebanyak 1 data dengan hasil persentase 25%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan  bahwa di dalam lagu “Ba wekoligu” Karya Faons Gea terkandung nilai-nilai moral yang secara tidak langsung dapat memberi suatu ajaran, didikan, teladan dan sifat-sifat baik yang dapat mempengaruhi kehidupan peserta didik di sekolah sehingga dapat bermoral baik. Dari hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat bagi pembaca dan peneliti selanjutnya.

Abstract

As a result of the pandemic, the best alternative to support formal learning activities is online learning, and it is believed to affect students' creativity in writing. The research aims to discover the effect of online learning on students' creativity in writing descriptive texts about local tourism. The methodology used by researchers in this research is a true-experimental method with a quantitative approach. This study uses a type of post-test-only control class design. There are two clases in this experiment design, each selected randomly. After conducting the study, researchers found a significant difference in grades between classes that received online learning treatment (experimental classes) and classes that were not (Control classes), where the experimental class scores were higher than the control class. So, the conclusion is that online learning has a good Effect on students' creativity in writing descriptive texts about local tourism.

Abstract

This research focused on teaching narrative text through mind mapping technique. The objectives of this research were to know and describe the process of teaching narrative writing using mind mapping. The data of this study were qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative data were obtained by observing the teaching-learning process during the implementation of the actions and interviewing the students and the collaborator about the implemented actions. The qualitative data were in the forms of field notes and interview transcripts. Meanwhile, the quantitative data were gained by assessing the students’ writing skill through the pre-test and the post-test. Therefore, the quantitative data were in the form of students’ writing scores in the pre-test and the post-test. The results of this study showed that the use of the mind mapping was effective to improve the students’ writing skill. The use of colorful pictures of mind mapping in the BKOF and MOT stages was effective to make the students more enthusiastic in the writing activities. The writers found that the student’s problems in writing were that the students were confused to develop their ideas because they did not have many vocabularies. Furthermore, the students had problems in matters of capitalization, punctuation, grammatical error, and organization. They also needed too much time to finish their writing.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effectiveness of applying the Google Classroom Application on the students' Writing Skills from grade X1 of SMA Swasta Gajah Mada Medan. The research applied the quantitative method with experimental design. The data were analyzed using the mathematics system related to the methods applied in the research. According to the research findings, it is concluded that Applying Google Classroom Application potentially gives more effectiveness in teaching writing skills to the students. After the post-test is done, the mean score of applying Google Classroom Application is 85.65. The standard deviation is 7.353, and the number of students is 26. The mean by applying conventional strategy is  62.00, the standard deviation is 3.943, and the number of students is 24. From the research result, the researchers found that the mean score of the experimental group students was improved by 17.10. In the controlled group, the mean score of the students was improved by 9.75. After the post-test by applying Google Classroom Application to the students is undertaken,  the normality test result is 0.465. After a post-test to the students by applying the conventional teaching method in the controlled group is given, the normality test result is 0.243. The research finding explained that the Google Classroom Application successfully improved the students'  writing skills, especially at SMA Swasta Gajah Mada Medan during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Menulis merupakan kegiatan untuk menciptakan sebuah karangan atau sebuah fakta dalam suatu informasi. Menulis tidak bisa dikatakan mudah karena menulis membutuhkan konsentrasi dan pemikiran yang luas untuk mejadikan satu kata menjadi sebuah paragraph. Maka dengan penelitian ini peneliti memakai teknik photo lingkungan untuk mempermudah siswa, khususnya siswa di SMP PUTERI SION dimana peneliti memakai dua kelas yaitu kelas percobaan dan kelas biasa. Adapun tujuan peneliti memakai teknik photo lingkungan khusunya dalam menulius teks ekspositopri adalah untuk mempermudah siswa dalam menuliskan kembali fakta atau informasi yang sesuai dengan gambar yang di berikan oleh peneliti kepada siswa. Desain yang dipakai peneliti adalah penelitian kuantitatif, teknik pengumpulan data yang dipakai peneliti adalah tobtained .Hasil penelitian ini adalah pretest 39.68 dan posttest 67.95 dari hasil tersebut didapat hasil 5.35. menurut Cohen.Manion,& Morisson where 0-0.20 category weak effect, while 0.21-0.50 category modest effect and 0.51-1.00 category strong effect. Setelah dilakukan penelitian ini terhadap siswa kelas IX maka terbukti hasil bahwa teknik photo lingkungan yang dipakai oleh siswa dalam menulis teks ekspositori berpengaruh.

Abstract

This study was conducted to find out the five semiotic systems of multimodal such as linguistic, visual, audio, gestural and spatial on Shera Ceiling Board Advertisement. The data was video made in Thailand and the duration was 51 seconds. The study used Miles, Hubarman and Saldana (2014:14) as guidance to analyze the data, the procedures are data collection, data condensation, data display and drawing/ verifying data. The video was divided into 17 scenes and each scene was analyzed based on five semiotic systems of multimodal to understand and investigate the multi modes of communication on it. The contribution on the study are the detail description of how the advertisement works in semiotic system of multimodal such as linguistics, visual, audio, gestural and spatial on Shera Ceiling Board Advertisement.

Abstract

Audio Visual Media has been thoroughly used by teachers and learners and has become an interesting teaching tool for teaching-learning process. One of the audio-visual aid of processes used in this study was video. The objective of this research was to find out the effect of Audio Visual Media on students’ reading comprehension. Is there any significant effect on students’ reading comprehension toward audio visual media become the problem of this research. To clarify this question, the sample was divided into two groups, control group and experimental group. The total of the sample was 50 students. The experimental group was given a treatment by using Audio Visual Media while the control group was given a treatment by using conventional method. Multiple choice test consisted 25 items was an instrument in this study. It was given before and after the treatment to measure the students’ reading comprehension. Both of groups were given the same material. Based on the result, the students who were given a treatment by using audio visual media got better results compare to the students who were given a treatment without audio visual media with the value of t-table = 2,0000 <  t-observed = 6,1851. So, the null hypothesis (Ho) is successfully rejected. It could be conclude that the audio visual media significantly affects on students’ reading comprehension.

Abstract

This study examines diathesis in the South Tapanuli Mandailing language using a morphosyntactic approach. The purpose of this research is to describe the form of diathesis and the classification and structure of diathesis in Mandailing language. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative research type. The data of this research is the South Tapanuli Mandailing language unit which contains diathesis. The results of the analysis show that there are four types of diathesis in the South Tapanuli Mandailing language, namely active, passive, reflexive, and reciprocal.

Abstract

This study deals with gender toxicity in language communication. The aim of this study is to describe toxic language that is accepted by male and female in circle communication. Descriptive qualitative is used as research method of this study. This study described the result of society language communication recorder. The result, there are two kinds of toxic language, toxic muscularity and toxic femininity language that was accepted by male and female in language communication.

Abstract

This research is aimed at elucidating the improving of students’ ability in constructing cause effect sentences using Islamic content blended to one of multimodality teaching called infographic. This research is applied on tourism regular class X of SMK Negeri 8 Medan in 2020 where 30  students participated as subject of the research. This class action research is conducted in two main cycles namely planning, conducting, observing and reflecting where all are implemented separately in both cycles. Collection of the data is taken through observation sheet, result of the test and documentation of activity and infograhic result. The using of infographic not only could increase the ability of students to construct sentences containing cause effect relationship but also trigger their interest and maintain their motivation to participate actively during learning hours, and religious content itself is to call back students’ knowledge about why something is obliged or forbidden in Islam. The results show that students level of participation to actively get involved in learning cause effect sentences in first cycle reaches 60% while average learning outcomes is 60%. Then in second cycle the participation increases to 75% and average learning outcomes exceed 75%. Thus, using infographic is very useful to increase students’ ability in constructiong cause effect sentences.
