Abstract

AbstractThis study analyzes the development model of the Mekar Sari Joint Business Group (KUBE) in Bengkalis Regency using a maslahah approach. KUBE Mekar Sari, a sewing business entity established in 2021, faces significant challenges in terms of sustainability and independence, particularly related to lax internal management, unsystematic financial management, and minimal member participation and effective external assistance. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. Analysis was conducted through the lens of maslahah (maqashid al-syari'ah), encompassing hifz al-Dīn, hifz al-Nafs, hifz al-‘Aql, hifz al-Nasl, and hifz al-Māl. The findings indicate that although KUBE Mekar Sari has internalized ethical values (hifz al-Dīn) and provides work flexibility that supports psychological well-being and family responsibility (hifz al-Nafs and hifz al-Nasl), there is a significant gap in the aspects of asset management (hifz al-māl) and knowledge development/participation (hifz al-‘aql). This study concludes that the KUBE Mekar Sari development model is not yet optimal in achieving holistic well-being due to fundamental weaknesses in internal management and the quality of mentoring. Therefore, it is recommended to strengthen internal management based on maslahah, improve the quality of sustainable mentoring, and develop members' capacity to achieve greater independence and sustainability. Keywords: Cooperative Business Group (KUBE), Maslahah, Economic Empowerment, Case Study, Maqashid al-Syari'ah

Abstract

The rapid growth of the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia has not been matched by institutional strengthening at the micro level, particularly within Islamic Rural Banks (BPRS). This study aims to analyze the financial performance and financing risk of PT. BPRS Puduarta Insani from 2021 to 2024, and to evaluate the implementation of Sharia principles in operational practices from the perspective of Account Officers (AOs). Employing a qualitative approach, the research utilizes in-depth interviews supported by secondary financial data and applies thematic analysis. The findings reveal a significant phenomenon of pseudo-compliance, where Sharia principles are fulfilled formally but not substantively. This practice, driven by institutional pressure to achieve financing targets, directly contributes to a deteriorating portfolio quality and distortion in the application of Sharia contracts. The issue is further exacerbated by limitations in AO capacity, a weak monitoring system, and the lack of standardized recovery procedures, compounding risk management challenges. This study recommends institutional reform through the rationalization of financing targets, enhancement of operational Sharia training, and digitalization of monitoring systems to ensure a sustainable balance between financial performance and Sharia integrity.

Abstract

This study analyzes the financing strategy of sharia Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) implemented by Bank BJB Medan in order to improve the health of the bank. MSMEs have a crucial role in the Indonesian economy, but access to sharia financing is still limited. Bank BJB Medan uses various sharia-based financing schemes, such as musyarakah and mudharabah, to support the growth of MSMEs without an interest system. The research method used is a qualitative approach with interviews, observation, and data analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the sharia MSME financing strategy implemented by Bank BJB Medan is able to reduce financial inclusion, with a Non-Performing Financing (NPF) ratio above 5%. Challenges such as the low understanding of MSME actors towards sharia financing, competition with conventional banks, and the need for investment in digital infrastructure are still obstacles that need to be overcome. Therefore, further innovation is needed in product development, financial education, and digital system optimization so that sharia financing is more inclusive and sustainable .

Using a descriptive qualitative approach and content analysis, this study utilized primary data from semi-structured interviews with three Islamic banks (Bank Muamalat, Bank Syariah Indonesia, and BTPN Syariah) and secondary data from reports, media documentation, and academic publications.Findings show variations in bank engagement. The research results from the comparison of these three Islamic banks using the content analysis method, found that Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) showed the highest engagement of the other two banks, amounting to (46.12%) through comprehensive strategies, including UMKM Center, halal certification, expansion of digital transactions, and access to global markets. BTPN Syariah followed with (39.16%), distinguished by its focus on empowering low-income women through PRS and collateral-free financing to strengthen financial literacy and self-reliance of rural women. Bank Muamalat recorded the lowest engagement (14.72%), with an emphasis on community-based social programs such as Gerobak Usaha and Food Court Berdaya, which foster local economic solidarity. The study concludes that the three Islamic banks' support for MSMEs goes beyond financing and reflects their distinctive institutional strategies. BSI takes the lead in modernization and market expansion, BTPN Syariah highlights women empowerment, while Bank Muamalat contributes through grassroots community initiatives. Synergies between these approaches are critical to building a layered, competitive and sustainable MSME ecosystem.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the internal environment as strengths and weaknesses and the external environment as opportunities and threats and then formulate alternative strategies that can be implemented regarding the next Tempe SME partnership program. This study examines the leverage of each system archetype model in UMKM partnerships and also uses an internal matrix (IFE) and an external matrix (EFE). From the EFAS and IFAS data calculations above, it can be seen that the company's current position is in quadrant I coordinates (1,946 ; 1,395) namely the expansion (growth) quadrant, which is expected to be able to maintain and sustain the strategy and be able to penetrate the market and develop products. Based on the results of the model simulation process with the Casual Leverage Loop System, it is hoped that there will be several relationship structures between elements that influence each other in UMKM and partners, namely partners from large companies that have industrial scope both in the tofu-tempeh trade chain area and even the soybean import industry. Meanwhile, looking at the results of the partnership structure which was built from three sides, namely as follows: Business information perspective, business competency perspective and business access perspective.
