Abstract

Nicotiana tabacum (tobacco) is one of the most commercially agricultural crops in the world. Indonesia is one of the top ten tobacco producing countries in the world since 1990’s. Based on literature studies, tobacco has the main secondary metabolites such as cembranoids and flavonoids. They have fine biological activities as antiviral, antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-HIV, anti-proliferative, anti-inflammatory, anti-parasitic, anti-termite, and cytotoxicity effects. Therefore, N. tabacum is potential for further investigation on natural products research. This review aims to provide scientific evidences related to structure activity relationship between secondary metabolites and biological activities of N. tabacum.

Abstract

Banyaknya penggunaan jamu pelangsing di masyarakat menyebabkan adanya penyalahgunaan produksi obat tradisional yaitu penambahan Bahan Kimia Obat (BKO) dalam jamu tersebut. BKO yang ditambahkan dalam jamu pelangsing salah satunya adalah Furosemid. Furosemid adalah obat turunan asam antranilat yang berkhasiat sebagai diuretika pada gangguan hipertensi. Furosemid dapat menyebabkan terjadinya peningkatan kadar asam urat dan kadar gula darah pada saluran pencernaan dapat menimbulkan mual, muntah, nafsu makan menurun, iritasi pada mulut dan lambung, dan diare. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya kandungan BKO furosemid dalam jamu pelangsing yang beredar di kota Bangkalan. Jenis penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian eksperimental yang bersifat deskriptif dengan data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan tabel. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT) secara kualitatif. KLT merupakan metode pemisahan campuran analit dengan mengelusi analit melalui suatu lempeng kromatografi. Kesimpulan dapat dilihat dari hasil selisih antara angka Rf baku pembanding dengan Rf sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelima sampel jamu di kota Bangkalan 100% tidak terdapat kandungan BKO furosemid, karena berdasarkan hasil selisih nilai Rf dari kelima sampel jamu tersebut lebih dari 0,05cm.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a severe and chronic mental disorder that requires long-term antipsychotic therapy. However, the use of these medications is often accompanied by drug-related problems (DRPs), which affect the effectiveness of treatment and increase the risk of health complications. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the relationship between DRPs and therapy outcomes in schizophrenia patients at Syamrabu Bangkalan Hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional design with a retrospective method was used in this study. The sample was selected through purposive sampling from patients diagnosed with mental disorders who were using antipsychotic drugs. The PANSS scores and the frequency of extrapyramidal events were assessed to evaluate therapy outcomes. The data analysis was conducted using statistical correlation tests. Results: Among the 110 patients studied, 200 cases of DRPs were found, with drug interactions being the most common (42.5%). Correlation analysis showed a significant relationship between the number of drugs consumed and the number of DRPs (p=0.000, r=0.352). However, no significant association was found between the number of DRPs and patient therapeutic outcomes (p=0.340, r=-0.076). Combining atypical and typical antipsychotics proved more effective in reducing PANSS scores and demonstrating a lower risk of extrapyramidal side effects compared to monotherapy. Conclusion: An increase in the number of medications taken by a schizophrenia patient correlates with a higher incidence of DRPs. Therefore, close monitoring and pharmaceutical interventions are needed to optimize therapy and reduce the risk of side effects and complications.

Abstract

The main cause (50%) of blindness in Indonesia is cataracts, cataracts are one of the main health problems in the elderly, the only way to overcome blindness due to cataracts is to perform cataract surgery. Cataracts are a common disease that is often suffered by the elderly, cataracts themselves are characterized by cloudiness in the lens of the eye so that it blocks clear vision, based on national data from the 2014-2016 Ministry of Health's rapis assessment of avoidable blindness needs survey, with the target population being the age group Over 50 years it is known that the blindness rate reaches 3% and cataracts is the highest cause of blindness (81%), representatives and association of Indonesian ophthalmologists dr. Aldiana Halim said that in 2017 there were 8 million people with visual impairments. As many as 1.6 million blind people, plus 6.4 million people with moderate to severe visual impairment, of these, 81.2% of visual impairment is caused by cataracts, other causes are reflex and glaucoma or eye disorders related to diabetes. Corticosteroids are natural steroid hormones in humans which are produced by the adrenal cortex gland and function to treat inflammation or autoimmune disorders in the body. the function of this corticosteroid class of drugs is the same as the corticosteroid hormone produced by the body. After cataract surgery, the doctor gives several drugs to the patient to prevent post-surgical complications including infection (given antibiotics for prophylaxis), dry eye syndrome (given artificial tear drops) and to reduce pain (given anti-inflammatories). This community service aims to increase the knowledge of post-cataract surgery patients about how to use corticosteroid eye drops and how long to use corticosteroid eye drops.

Abstract

Duko Tambin merupakan salah satu Desa di Kecamatan Tragah. Desa Duko tambin sangat menyukai pertunjukan Tarian Tradisional. Tingginya minat bakat tari serta Minimnya fasilitas tari di Desa Duko Tambin menjadi salah satu perhatian khusus oleh BEM NHM. Lolosnya Pendanaan Hibah PPK Ormawa yang di motori oleh BEM NHM membuat potensi masyasrakat desa Duko Tambin Semakin terasah. Animo Masyarakat akan tari tradisional semakin dirasakan sejak diresmikannya pengurus sanggar tari desa Duko Tambin. Pengelolaan Sanggar Tari bukan hanya sebatas memfasilitasi minat bakat Gerakan tari, namun juga perlu memperhatikan tentang akan dampak dari Gerakan-gerakan tari seperti cidera otot dan nyeri otot. Pentingnya peningkatan pemahaman tatalaksana tersebut sudah menjadi rangkaian kegiatan dari 5 kegiatan inti PPK Ormawa Bem NHM. Berdasarkan kronologi tersebut berbekal keilmuan dasar serta optimalisasi tuntutan profesi, Dosen dan Ormawa BEM NHM STIKes Ngudia Husada Madura melakukan kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat dengan judul “SAE RASSAH” Pemberdayaan tatalaksana nyeri dan cidera sebagai upaya penanggulangan nyeri dan cidera saat Latihan tari di Sanggar Tari Desa Duko Tambin Kecamatan Tragah Bangkalan. Abstract

ortikosteroid merupakan hormon steroid alami pada manusia yang diproduksi oleh kelenjar korteks adrenal yang berfungsi untuk mengatasi peradangan atau gangguan autoimun pada tubuh. Pada kasus penyakit mata, obat kortikosteroid dapat berupa obat tetes mata yang banyak digunakan pada pasien pasca operasi katarak, yang berfungsi mengurangi peradangan yang terjadi pada segmen interior yang terkadang tidak diketahui penyebabnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek samping yang dapat terjadi pada penggunaan obat kortikosteroid pasca operasi katarak. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode crossectional, yang dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan metode universal sampling. Kegiatan ini menggunakan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan non-random sampling dengan metode time limited sampling yaitu mengambil seluruh data Rekam Medis Kesehatan pasien. Hasil dan pembahasan penelitian ini dilakukan di Instalasi Farmasi Klinik KMU Madura dengan melibatkan sejumlah pasien pasca operasi katarak yang menggunakan obat tetes mata kortikosteroid. Penggunaan obat tetes mata kortikosteroid berpotensi menimbulkan berbagai efek samping. Efek samping yang paling umum ditemui pada pasien adalah mata kabur, perih, mata merah, dan gatal-gatal. Obat tetes mata yang paling banyak digunakan adalah prednisolon sebesar 53,3%. Berdasarkan hasil diatas dapat digambarkan bahwa lama penggunaan obat tetes mata kortikosteroid pada pasien pasca operasi katarak di instalasi farmasi Klinik Mata KMU Madura adalah lebih dari 30 hari.

Abstract

APO–B Serum levels is the most predictive value for the incidence of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb contains curcumin, which can be used as an antioxidant, anti–inflammatory and antihypercholesterol. The mechanism of curcumin contained in ginger to reduce cholesterol is due to its function as a cholagoga or bile stimulant. This study aims to determine the effect of temulawak extract on the levels of APO–B Serum in hypercholesterolemia mice. This research were a true experimental study with a post–test only control group design carried out in February 2018. The extraction As much as 25 mice were divided into 5 groups where are group consisted of 5 mice. Positive control group (K+) were treated with high cholesterol feed and water, negative control group (K–) were given standard feed and water, treatment group 1 (P1) were given high cholesterol food and 25mg/kg BW of curcuma extract for 14 days, treatment group 2 (P2) were treated with foods high in cholesterol and 50mg/kg BW of curcuma extract for 14 days and treatment group 3 (P3) treated with high cholesterol and ginger extract 75mg/kg BW for 14 days. Examination of APO–B levels were measured using the spectrophotometric method. Data were analyzed using One–Way Anova. The results showed that the average of APO–B level at (K+) was 209.7 ± 1.02 mg / dL, at (K–) 115.3 ± 1.04 mg / dL, at (P1) 180.4 ± 1.07 mg / dL, at (P2) 147.6 ± 1.12 mg / dL, at (P3) 119.1 ± 1.10 mg / dL. Based on the results of statistical test it was found that there was a significant decrease in APO–B levels with p–value= 0.001 at alpha 0.05 (p <α).
