Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of developing a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model to enhance students' critical and creative skills in learning procedural texts at SMPN 7 Satap Maiwa. The goal was to create a dynamic, engaging, and effective learning environment using the PjBL model to improve students' skills, particularly in English learning. This research employed quantitative methods to provide empirical evidence on the effectiveness of the PjBL model in enhancing students' critical and creative thinking abilities in procedural text learning. The development of PjBL in education has seen significant progress, especially in secondary English language teaching. This study specifically aimed to assess the application of the PjBL model in teaching procedural texts, with a focus on creating posters using the Canva application by analyzing a tourist spot. The study involved 15 students in the experimental group and 15 students in the control group. The results showed a significant improvement in the students' scores from pre-test to post-test in the experimental group. The average pre-test score for the experimental group was 68.66, while the post-test mean score increased to 86.33. In comparison, the control group’s pre-test and post-test scores were 57.66 and 82.66, respectively. Statistical analysis revealed that the p-value was smaller than the α level (0.001 < 0.05), leading to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of H1, indicating that the use of PjBL in learning procedural texts had a positive impact. In conclusion, this study suggests that integrating the PjBL model can effectively enhance students' critical and creative skills, contributing to improved overall learning outcomes.

Abstract

The virtue of anime is the inclusion of culture through character education that Japan wants to convey. The character education in question is the positive values conveyed such as kinship, hard work, and dreams. Anime Hotaru no haka is an anime that conveys the meaning of being full of kinship and hard work. Meanwhile, the kaze tachinu anime is an anime that conveys the meaning of always trying hard to achieve your goals. We conducted research on the effectiveness of Japanese character education as across culture for adolescents who are undergoing rehabilitation at the Baddoka Rehabilitation Center, the National Narcotics Agency, Makassar, South Sulawesi. The method used is a quantitative approach method in answering research questions. The quantitative approach used was a pre-experimental study using 1 group pretest - posttest design. The population used is adolescents who are undergoing rehabilitation, totaling 11 people, and carried out for 4 weeks. After conducting research, Japanese character education as across culture had influence on self-esteem and resilience of adolescent. Before the intervention, low self-esteem was 8 and high self-esteem was 7, but after the intervention low self-esteem decreased to 1 and high self-esteem became 14. Low resilience was 8 and high resilience 7 became low resilience 2 and high resilience 13.

Abstract

Program zakat telah menjadi instrumen penting dalam upaya pemberdayaan ekonomi umat di Indonesia. Meskipun demikian, implementasinya menghadapi sejumlah tantangan yang mempengaruhi efektivitas dan dampaknya. Artikel ini melakukan analisis terhadap tantangan dan prospek pemberdayaan ekonomi umat melalui program zakat di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan data sekunder dan tinjauan literatur, artikel ini mengeksplorasi isu-isu seperti efektivitas pengelolaan zakat, pengentasan kemiskinan, inklusi keuangan, transparansi, akuntabilitas, dan kesadaran masyarakat. Selain itu, artikel ini juga mengidentifikasi beberapa prospek untuk meningkatkan kontribusi zakat dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi umat. Diharapkan artikel ini memberikan kontribusi dalam memperdalam pemahaman tentang peran zakat dalam ekonomi Islam dan menyoroti langkah-langkah yang dapat diambil untuk meningkatkan dampaknya dalam konteks Indonesia.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa kelas tinggi di SD Negeri 28 Tamo melalui penerapan Bimbingan Membaca Terstruktur. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca siswa sebagaimana terlihat dari hasil asesmen awal yang menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori Tidak Sama Sekali, Mengeja, dan Belum Lancar. Program dilaksanakan selama sepuluh minggu melalui pendampingan intensif yang mencakup tahapan pra-membaca, saat membaca, dan pasca-membaca, serta intervensi kelompok kecil yang disesuaikan dengan tingkat kemampuan siswa. Pengukuran kemampuan membaca dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengidentifikasi perubahan yang terjadi setelah intervensi. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada aspek kelancaran, akurasi, pemahaman bacaan, serta motivasi membaca. Nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat dari 2,22 pada pre-test menjadi 3,56 pada post-test, dengan hasil uj Paired Samples Test yang menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa program ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa Bimbingan Membaca Terstruktur merupakan strategi intervensi yang relevan dan mampu memberikan dampak nyata terhadap perkembangan literasi siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Humans demand electricity to conduct their daily tasks. Indonesia undergoes a yearly escalation in its electricity use. Moreover, customers encounter the difficulty of overestimating their electrical energy consumption, since they remain unaware of the power utilization linked to each frequently utilized electrical load and possess limited control over their electricity expenditure. The Kalman Filter Algorithm was utilized to estimate electricity usage via the execution of a research system. The Kalman Filter can forecast future states using minimal information. This system incorporates an IoT framework with a network communication module, the Raspberry Pi, which relays data to the database. The PZEM-004T sensor is utilized to gather data on electrical parameters from loads, including voltage, current, active power, and energy consumption. The electrical consumption was documented every 15 minutes over a duration of 60 days. The dataset was divided in an 80:20 ratio, allocating 80% for training and 20% for testing. RMSE, MSE, and MAPE are utilized to determine the accuracy metrics of each test. Additionally, the fan load is assessed in one evaluation, yielding an error percentage of 0.077% for the training data and 0.076% for the test data, determined using RMSE. The error percentage calculated using the MSE equation is 0.006% for the training data and 0.005% for the test data. The error percentage calculated by MAPE is 0.789% for the training dataset and 0.202% for the testing dataset.
