Abstract

Abstract

Corn (Zea mays L.) is a monoecious plant with separate male and female flowers on a single plant. Apart from being a staple food, corn is used for livestock feed and export purposes. Despite the development of corn production technologies by research institutions, they have not been widely adopted by farmers due to traditional drying methods and quick post-harvest sales. Enhancing corn's competitiveness requires efforts to improve economic efficiency, quality, and productivity through technology adoption, from cultivation to post-harvest marketing. In the era of Industry 4.0, rapid technological advancements and digital marketing are reshaping product marketing strategies. In Tlangoh Village, sales are still conventional. Hence, the aim of this activity is to provide training and mentoring in digital marketing to enhance the effective marketing of corn products in Tlangoh Village, expanding market access and optimizing product value.

Abstract

In the medical field, image analysis is essential for diagnosis and patient care planning. This study compares two edge detection methods: the Laplacian of Gaussian (LoG) filter and the Chebyshev filter. The LoG filter combines Gaussian smoothing with the Laplacian operator for noise reduction and smooth edge detection, while the Chebyshev filter, known for sharp edges, allows for adjustable frequency response but is more sensitive to noise. Medical images were pre-processed to reduce artifacts and noise before applying each filter. The performance metrics, including PSNR, SSIM, and EPI, were used to evaluate the results. The Chebyshev filter achieved the highest PSNR of 20.2202 and SSIM of 0.48089 for Meningioma with a low-pass filter of order 2. The LoG filter's highest PSNR was 12.5731 and SSIM was 0.99876 for Meningioma at sigma 0.5. The highest EPI for the Chebyshev filter was 0.13067 for Pituitary with a low-pass filter of order 2, compared to the LoG filter's highest EPI of 0.39688 for Glioma at sigma 1.5. These results guide the selection of edge detection methods, enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient care planning, and contribute to advanced medical image processing technologies.

Abstract

Abstract

The development of a microstrip antenna for digital TV applications at the center frequency of 598 MHz has been carried out to meet the needs for optimal signal reception in urban areas such as Surabaya. In this research, a microstrip antenna is designed, simulated, and fabricated to verify its performance. The simulation results show that the antenna has a return loss of -12.27 dB, VSWR 1.639, bandwidth 359 MHz, gain 2.26 dBi, and an omnidirectional radiation pattern. After the fabrication process, antenna performance measurements show a return loss of -25.78 dB, VSWR 1.849, and bandwidth 154 MHz. Discrepancies between simulation and fabrication results are mainly due to manufacturing tolerances and material variations. Nevertheless, the results obtained show that the developed microstrip antenna has good performance and is suitable for digital TV applications at the targeted frequency, with the ability to receive signals omnidirectionally which is very important in dense urban environments.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a tropical climate and is located on the equator and gets abundant sunlight all year round. So the use of solar energy as an alternative energy is very popular and is starting to be developed in all corners of the country by carrying out a lot of research and testing. In this research, solar cells are used as a source of electrical energy for street lights. The function of these components is SCC (solar charge controller) which regulates and controls the battery charging process, electrical energy is stored in the battery which functions to supply electrical power at night. The inverter functions to change direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC). The photocell sensor functions to regulate the lights, during the day the lights will turn off and turn on at night. There is a passive infrared receiver (PIR) sensor used to detect human presence. This sensor is used to control the light intensity of the lamp, if it is not detected by humans, the lamp will turn on normally. If human presence is detected, the lights will turn on brightly. There is also an automatic solar panel cleaner using a wiper which functions when the solar panels are dirty. The detection method uses current and voltage sensors, when sunlight received by the solar panel and the resulting electric current voltage decreases, the wiper will automatically activate to clean dirty solar panels, thereby maintaining optimal solar panel performance. The solar panel is equipped with a support/pole feature that is designed to go up and down, which makes it easier to use and does not require using a ladder during the maintenance process. The method used in this research is fuzzy. The fuzzy method is used for decision making on wiper conditions. In the research results, the results of this system were obtained from 12 trials of tool measurement results, Matlab simulations, and manual fuzzy logic calculations with a success rate of 91.6%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the vocalization characteristics of eight animal species through Mel-spectrogram representation to identify dominant frequency patterns, duration, and sound intensity. Data were obtained from natural recordings and then converted into Mel-spectrograms, which were then analyzed to obtain information on frequency distribution, vocalization duration, and sound intensity levels. The results showed that most species showed dominant frequencies in the range of 2,000–9,000 Hz, with birds and chicks having the highest range (4,000–9,000 Hz). Vocalization patterns tended to be repetitive with varying durations (1–27 seconds) and high intensities (0–20 dB) at the dominant frequencies. Intra-species variations were found in birds and cats, indicating the influence of age or social factors. These findings demonstrate the potential of Mel-spectrograms as a tool for analyzing animal vocalizations for conservation purposes, behavioral monitoring, and the development of artificial intelligence-based speech recognition systems.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest cocoa-producing countries, exporting much of its cocoa to Japan, China, and Malaysia. The export standard for dried cocoa beans is a maximum moisture content of 7%. Traditional sun drying methods in Indonesia do not consistently achieve this standard. Therefore, a cocoa bean dryer using the Mamdani type fuzzy method was designed to control moisture content. This dryer features heaters regulated by dimmers and sensors that monitor temperature and humidity in the drying chamber. The ESP32 microcontroller processes the sensor data and connects to the Internet for control and monitoring via Blynk software, enabling more efficient and faster drying compared to traditional methods. Testing showed the dryer functions as intended. Temperature sensor tests indicated minor variations between sensor and thermogun readings, with an average sensor reading of 42.3°C, thermogun reading of 42.5°C, an average error of 0.4°C, and a 1% error percentage. Humidity sensor tests revealed similar consistency, with an average sensor reading of 46.5%, hygrometer reading of 46.2%, an average error of 0.3%, and a 0.53% error percentage. Load cell tests showed an average sensor reading of 0.32 kg compared to a digital scale reading of 0.33 kg, with an average error of 0.01 kg and a 5.34% error percentage. Each sensor was tested 30 times. Fuzzy control testing yielded satisfactory results, with an average error of 0.4% compared to Matlab results. Moisture content measurements met the export standard. This system is expected to improve the quality and market value of Indonesian cocoa beans.
