Abstract

The fact that school librarians possess expertise in an array of search engines suitable for meeting the information requirements of students, they frequently encounter impediments in utilizing such resources, including administrators and ATPUSI constituents in the Lampung Province. The community service activities, offered as Gscholar Advanced Search Operators Technology Training for Information Retrieval, have been implemented to enhance the information literacy skills of administrator librarians and members of the Association of Technical and Professional Staff of Universities and Institutions (ATPUSI) in Lampung Province. The ultimate objective of these activities is to facilitate the utilization of GScholar technology in an efficient and effective manner. By joining Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and offering instructional resources concerning the utilization of Google Scholar technology, school librarians can enhance the precision of information, as well as aid them in fostering the development of information literacy competencies among students and educators. In addition, this approach can bolster their collaborative aptitude for attaining impactful and dependable information. The execution of the activity shall transpire in July of 2023, employing pedagogical approaches involving lecturing, question-response exchanges, and evaluation techniques. The assessment shall be conducted by means of pre-designed questionnaires. In this community service activity, inquiries incorporating pre-test and post-test measures are employed to ascertain the level of comprehension attained. The outcomes of this service demonstrate an augmentation in the discernment and proficiency of academic librarians concerning the utilization of Gscholar Advanced Search Operators for information retrieval. Furthermore, the results indicate an amplified recognition and comprehension regarding the significance of precise information in effectively promoting the enhancement of information literacy skills among the service beneficiaries.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how students adapt their communication in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the educational context, and to examine its impact on interpersonal communication, academic integrity, digital literacy, and readiness for the workforce. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using data collected through a Google Form questionnaire completed by 105 student respondents. The data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns in student experiences. The findings reveal that 96,2% of students felt AI helped them understand course material more efficiently, while 61% acknowledged the potential threat to academic honesty. Additionally, 85% reported that AI improved their digital literacy and preparedness for a technology-driven work environment. Ethical challenges, such as dependency and violations of academic integrity, emerged as major concerns. In conclusion, AI holds significant potential to support learning, but its use must be accompanied by ethical awareness and effective communication within the educational environment.

Abstract

This This article attempts to explore and compare the descriptive analysis of the development of the record management system paradigm over time. The aim is to examine the potential implications of applying the lifecycle theory approach to archives, the continuum record model, and the concept of vital records. Each of these approaches was developed in different periods and places, such as the archive lifecycle in the United States, the record continuum model in Australia, and the total archive concept in Canada. This article also investigates the differences and possible relationships among these three approaches as alternatives to complement the widely and traditionally used lifecycle theory approach in archiving activities in Indonesia. The study is conducted through a literature review using a qualitative and interpretative paradigm. Relying on historical and narrative analysis, the findings of this study provide evidence of the record management theories' practices within organizations. The study concludes that the record management practices in organizations can be improved by giving adequate attention to specific factors in each record management approach during implementation. Currently, the lifecycle theory remains dominant, but it is unable to address various challenges and issues in archiving. The continuum record model offers a more specific way to organize and support the preservation of electronic and digital archives, which are increasingly held by modern institutions or organizations not entirely covered by the lifecycle theory approach. Similarly, the total archive concept can be used as a strategy for documenting records and archives that possess historical context and institutional memory. However, there are still gaps in each approach that require further analysis of their key components to bridge these gaps and enable their holistic implementation in various archival institutions and organizations in Indonesia in the future.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dinamika komunikasi dalam praktik cancel culture terhadap tokoh agama, dengan fokus pada bagaimana wacana publik terbentuk, disebarkan, dan dimaknai dalam konteks media sosial. Kasus viral Gus Miftah digunakan sebagai contoh untuk melihat bagaimana komentar, tagar, dan narasi publik menciptakan tekanan moral yang memengaruhi persepsi terhadap otoritas religius di ruang digital. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini menerapkan Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK) Fairclough serta teori mediatisasi agama dan konvergensi simbolik. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi daring pada twitter/X, tikTok, instagram, dan portal berita, dengan 100 item digital sebagai sumber analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cancel culture bekerja melalui lima kategori wacana utama: kritik moral, seruan boikot, satire, delegitimasi simbolik, dan komentar netral. Bahasa yang digunakan publik mencerminkan afeksi kolektif yang membentuk solidaritas moral baru, sementara algoritma platform memperkuat wacana dominan melalui visibilitas dan viralitas. Temuan menegaskan adanya pergeseran legitimasi dari institusi religius menuju komunitas digital yang lebih partisipatif. Implikasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh agama semakin bergantung pada logika media dan persepsi publik dalam menjaga kredibilitas. Studi ini berkontribusi pada bidang komunikasi dan kajian media digital, terutama pada pemahaman mengenai transformasi otoritas moral di era digital. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa cancel culture merupakan mekanisme kontrol sosial baru yang berpotensi memperkuat atau melemahkan posisi simbolik tokoh agama.
