Abstract

This study examines the role of Telkomsel Public Relations (PR), particularly within the Retention and Loyalty Operation (RLO) Division, in maintaining customer loyalty through the Telkomsel Poin partnership program in Bengkulu City. The problem addressed in this research is how PR activities contribute to sustaining customer loyalty in a competitive telecommunications industry. The aim of this study is to analyze the implementation of PR roles in supporting the Telkomsel Poin program as a customer retention strategy. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants include the Supervisor and Staff of the RLO Division, two Telkomsel Poin customers, and a partner merchant (Solaria Restaurant). The findings indicate that PR performs four main roles: communication technician, expert prescriber, communication facilitator, and problem-solving facilitator. These roles are reflected in the preparation of program communication materials, selection of strategic partners aligned with customer needs, facilitation of two-way communication between customers and partners, and assistance in resolving customer complaints during point redemption. The study concludes that the PR role significantly contributes to maintaining customer loyalty by encouraging repeated participation and strengthening long-term relationships.

Abstract

This study examines the role of intercultural communication in resolving social conflicts in multicultural societies, with a case study in the Sukakarya District community, Musi Rawas Regency. Amidst the increasingly complex dynamics of cultural diversity, differences in values, norms, and perceptions between community groups often trigger social conflicts. Intercultural communication is considered a strategic instrument that can create mutual understanding and reduce tensions that arise due to these differences. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The data obtained were analyzed thematically to identify communication mechanisms that have been implemented by the community in reducing conflicts, as well as to reveal supporting factors for the success of intercultural interactions. Initial findings indicate that empathy, adaptation, and appreciation for the cultural identity of each group play an important role in creating social harmony. The results of this study are expected to provide significant contributions to the development of effective intercultural communication models, as well as provide strategic recommendations for policy makers and communication practitioners in designing preventive and adaptive intervention programs. Thus, this study not only enriches academic discourse but also becomes a practical reference in efforts to strengthen social integration and reduce conflict in multicultural societies.

Abstract

The communication strategy of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) plays an important role in encouraging community participation in village development processes. Ineffective communication planning may lead to low levels of community involvement in development programs implemented by the village government. This study aims to analyze the communication strategy of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in increasing community participation in the development of Gembung Raya Village, Napal Putih District, North Bengkulu Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the head of BPD, community leaders, the head of the youth organization, and members of the community in Gembung Raya Village who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of the study indicate that the communication strategy implemented by BPD in increasing community participation has not been optimal. In the stage of identifying the audience, the understanding of community characteristics and needs has not been comprehensive because village deliberations tend to involve only certain groups. In the stage of message formulation, development information is delivered through deliberation meetings using relatively simple language; however, it has not fully reached all community members. In the stage of determining the communication method, communication is mainly conducted through village meetings and direct interactions, yet community participation remains relatively low. In addition, the use of communication media is still limited to traditional methods such as invitation letters and face-to-face communication without utilizing broader communication media. Therefore, BPD is expected to evaluate and improve its communication strategies by developing more inclusive, transparent, and participatory communication and by utilizing more diverse communication media in order to enhance community participation in sustainable village development.

Abstract

Personal branding is the process of building a unique, strong, and relevant self-image in the public’s mind. In modern political contexts, personal branding serves as a strategic tool to shape public perception, trust, and voter loyalty, particularly through social media platforms. This study aims to analyze Destita Khairilisani’s political communication strategy in building her personal branding as a member of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) through her Instagram account @destitabengkulu, using Peter Montoya’s eight laws of personal branding as the analytical framework. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a single case study strategy within a constructivist paradigm. Data were analyzed using content analysis of Instagram posts from December 2025 to January 2026, supported by library research. The findings indicate that The Law of Specialization serves as the primary pillar in constructing Destita’s image as a “Technocrat-Pharmacist” and doctoral academic with expertise in health and education. This specialization is reinforced by solution-oriented leadership, an inclusive personality, consistent visual differentiation, and sustained digital visibility. The integration of professional competence, authentic character, and message consistency shapes her image as a “Doctor for Regional Problems,” aligning with the needs of the Bengkulu community. The study concludes that specialization, consistency, and moral values are key factors in building political trust and legitimacy in the digital communication era.
