Abstract

This study aims to develop valid, practical, and effective reading materials based on visual information for the English Education Program. The study is motivated by the lack of reading materials that utilize visual information in English language learning. The research uses the ADDIE development model, with data collection methods including observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS software. The results show that: (1) in the analysis phase, a pressing need for the development of reading materials based on visual information to improve students' reading skills was identified; (2) in the design phase, the learning materials and visual information design received excellent ratings in accordance with the curriculum requirements and student characteristics; (3) in the development phase, the visual information book and its supporting system met high criteria for validity, practicality, and effectiveness; (4) in the implementation phase, the application of visual information had a positive impact on improving students' reading skills; (5) effectiveness testing showed that the use of visual information in reading skill learning was effective, with the t-test results showing that the t-value (4.697) was greater than the t-table value (1.69) and the significance level was less than 0.05 (0.000). In conclusion, the use of reading materials based on visual information has been proven to improve students' reading skills, showing a significant difference between the experimental group using visual information and the control group not using visual information

Abstract

This study employs a quantitative methodology with a descriptive correlational design to explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) knowledge on digital literacy, teaching competence, and instructional innovation among Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in Riau Province, Indonesia. The study involves a population of 6,840 secondary school PAI teachers registered with the Directorate General of Islamic Education. A sample of 378 teachers was determined using Slovin’s formula and selected through accidental sampling during professional development events. Data were collected using a structured Google Form questionnaire featuring Likert-scale items measuring teachers’ AI knowledge, digital literacy, instructional competence, and innovation. A pilot test was conducted to ensure the validity and reliability of the instrument. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the variables, while inferential statistics, including linear and Multivariate regression analyses, were applied to determine the relationships among variables. The study highlights the significant influence of AI knowledge on improving digital competence and fostering innovative teaching practices among PAI teachers. The findings emphasize integrating AI into teacher training programs to support educational advancement in Islamic schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of academic services and lecturer performance on student satisfaction at Islamic higher education institutions. Using a quantitative approach, data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires to students and analyzed using multiple linear regression and Pearson correlation. The results of the analysis indicate that both independent variables have a positive and significant contribution to student satisfaction levels, with faculty performance (β = 0.487) having a greater influence than academic services (β = 0.352). These findings emphasize the importance of faculty members in enhancing the quality of students' learning experiences, both in academic and developmental aspects. Based on these results, it is recommended that Islamic higher education institutions strengthen their academic service systems and prioritize faculty professional development focused on effective teaching, student engagement, and ethical leadership.

Abstract

This study examines the academic integrity of Islamic education students in their utilization of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) techniques. Data were gathered from 385 students utilizing a survey study methodology at three Islamic higher education institutions in Riau Province, Indonesia: Islamic University of Riau, Al-Kifayah Riau Islamic College, and Diniyyah Riau Islamic Institute. These institutions serve as pivotal centers for the amalgamation of Islamic beliefs with modern academic procedures. Data were collected utilizing a standardized questionnaire derived from the Jisc Digital Capability Framework, concentrating on students' ethical awareness, plagiarism, citation practices, and responsible AI utilization. An incidental sampling method was utilized, and the survey was conducted using Google Forms. The results indicate a diverse comprehension of the facets of academic honesty. Students exhibited elevated levels of comprehension of academic ethics (40% high) and Islamic values (50% medium). Nevertheless, diminished levels were noted in domains such as plagiarism (45% deficient), adherence to regulations (40% deficient), and prudent AI utilization (35% deficient), signifying deficiencies in ethical digital literacy. These findings underscore the necessity for educational approaches that amalgamate AI knowledge with Islamic ethical principles. Enhancing academic integrity necessitates specific policies and instruction in digital ethics to guarantee that AI facilitates learning instead of compromising academic honestyTRANSLATE with x EnglishArabicHebrewPolishBulgarianHindiPortugueseCatalanHmong DawRomanianChinese SimplifiedHungarianRussianChinese TraditionalIndonesianSlovakCzechItalianSlovenianDanishJapaneseSpanishDutchKlingonSwedishEnglishKoreanThaiEstonianLatvianTurkishFinnishLithuanianUkrainianFrenchMalayUrduGermanMalteseVietnameseGreekNorwegianWelshHaitian CreolePersian //  TRANSLATE with COPY THE URL BELOW Back EMBED THE SNIPPET BELOW IN YOUR SITE Enable collaborative features and customize widget: Bing Webmaster PortalBack//

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in Nagari Durian Tinggi, West Sumatra, with the aim of empowering the community through the innovation of processing gambier into economically valuable herbal tea. Until now, gambier has mostly been sold in raw form at a relatively low price. In fact, gambier contains bioactive compounds such as catechins and tannins that are beneficial for health, making it highly potential to be developed into herbal drink products. The method applied in this activity was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which actively involved lecturers, students, and the local community in the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. The program was conducted through counseling, discussions, and hands-on practice of processing gambier into herbal tea, including raw material selection, processing, drying, and packaging. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge, skills, and awareness regarding the diversification of gambier products. Participants were able to produce simple herbal tea products with higher economic value compared to raw gambier. Therefore, this innovation is expected to improve community welfare, strengthen local economic independence, and encourage the development of sustainable, locally based businesses
