Abstract

95% of energy use in Indonesia is still dominated by fossil fuels. One way to meet the increasing energy needs is by using renewable energy.. The most easily available and popular renewable energy today is Solar Power Plants. Currently, solar power plants have various types to maximize their potential, one of which is the hybrid PV-genset system. This research was conducted at SMKN Central Java which has a solar power plant hybrid pv-genset system by connecting the output on grid solar power plants with generators in parallel without battery backup. The study was carried out by reviewing the fuel consumption of the generator through two scenarios without and with battery backup in the system using the HOMER Grid software to run the simulation by entering the required parameters. The results of this study indicate that the system with battery backup has 61.62% greater savings on the fuel consumption side and 61.87% more efficient on the fuel cost side to operate the generator when a blackout occurs.

Abstract

Sumber energi terbarukan mempunyai sifat terbarukan serta berkesinambungan dan pemanfaatan sumber energi terbarukan merupakan alternatif yang perlu terus dikembangkan. Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) menggunakan energi matahari sebagai sumber terbarukan dan mengkonversi energi matahari menjadi energi listrik. Untuk memaksimalkan intensitas matahari yang diterima oleh panel surya maka pada perancangan sistem dibutuhkan sudut kemiringan panel yang paling tepat untuk menerima radiasi matahari yang paling tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan arus keluaran terhadap perubahan sudut kemiringan pada photovoltaic, dengan menggunakan regretion quadratic method. Hasil yang diperoleh pengukuran sudut kemiringan PV dengan arus keluaran menggunakan metode regresi kuadratik sudut optimum peletakan panel sel surya dalam menerima paparan radiasi sinar matahari pada sudut 36.7º, dengan nilai arus keluaran sebesar 1.99 Ampere. Ternyata hasil pengukuran real dibandingkan dengan menggunakan metode regresi kuadratik diperoleh hasil nilai RMSE (root mean sequre error) 0.27476.

Abstract

The use of solar energy today as an alternative energy source continues to be used not only in large scale but also utilized on small scale. The use of solar power as a renewable energy source by converting solar energy into electrical energy, utilizing this technology one of them on technology using hydroponic plant systems. In hydroponic pump system used to consume water and nutrients are usually sourced electricity PLN. With the availability of abundant energy sources certainly help reduce electricity consumption from PLN. The design is done on this research by utilizing solar energy as a power supply to turn on the pumps as well as to drain water and plant nutrients running well. The burden used in this study was 20Watt, to supply the load needs of a PLTS fitted with polycristaline type. The highest irradiation at 12.00 is 666 W/M2 which means that at that time the energy is generated maximally. In the design used with the battery capacity using the VRLA Deep Cycle JS12-12 battery type; 12V 12Ah generated and stored electrical energy can turn the 5-6 hour pump on.

Abstract

Disturbances are generally in the form of short circuits which produce large short-circuit currents, so a protection system is needed to be able to minimize the extent of the impact of the fault current. In medium voltage networks, protection is needed to secure the network from interference along the conduit. The problem that often occurs in medium voltage network systems is sympathetic trip disorder, namely the failure of the relay in the uninterrupted feeder to join the trip together with the interrupted feeder. This incident occurred in the Windu feeder when there was a short circuit interruption of the single phase of the ground feeder at the Kosambi Duri Substation. Based on these events will be discussed how the influence of the disturbance current flowing to the point of disturbance and passing through the feeder relay, for that reason there needs to be an analysis related to setting the working time of the ground relay on the feeder. From the calculation results when there is a disturbance in the compact feeder where the ground work time relay is worth 0.294 seconds (working) and for Windu feeder when the compact is disturbed it is -0.333. This minus value means that the relay should not work. It is suspected that Windu's feeder sympathetic is caused by an increase in phase voltage and creates new interference.

Abstract

Power shrinking events in the distribution network are unavoidable events, but the amount of power shrinking that occurs can still be overcome or suppressed to a minimum for that is the need to prevent the onsanion of large amounts of shrinking by means of maintenance and repair of distribution system equipment, the calculation of power shrink is carried out by quantitative method where the data retrieved is the peak current time data. From the results of the study conducted in The Bronze Purgator obtained a daily average shrinkage value of 5.37%, and the calculation result was obtained that the average energy shrinkage that occurred within a month was 3981,717 kWh.

Load unbalance in an electric power system often occur to meet consumer needs. Distribution of the load that was initially evenly will experience an unbalance when the burdens. As a result, current arises in the transformer neutral, current flowing in the transformer neutral causes losses, losses in the neutral conductor transformer and current flowing to the ground. Abstract

Devices that can convert sunlight energy to electrical energy with photovoltaic effect process made of semiconductors are better known as solar cells. Photovoltaic (PV) or better known as solar power plant (PLTS) is also concerned with several factors to maximize solar energy into electrical energy such as the influence of weather, humidity, temperature of solar cell position and wind direction contained on the surface of solar cells. In this study, this solar cell (photovoltaic) was diagnosed as poly-crystalline during sunny and cloudy weather conditions. The results obtained by the test showed the influence of temperature from the surface of solar cells on the value of output power. Maximum power (Pout) at 11.40 WIB with a slope angle of 35° and a temperature of 47.6°C with an output power value of 100.562 Watt. So it can be said that the temperature is influenced by the intensity of solar radiation that will make the power (Pout) increase, the condition of the poly-crystalline solar module will work optimally at a temperature of about 35 °C - 50 ° C measured on the surface of solar cells.

Abstract

The distribution network is the part of the electric power system that is closest to the customer. The reliability of each component of the distribution system equipment can affect the continuity of power service. This study aims to evaluate the reliability of the distribution system at the Citarik Feeder and to improve the system reliability index. The method used is the section technique method and the reliability index values for the Citarik Feeder are obtained, namely SAIFI 1.08958323 faults per customer.year, SAIDI 12.9958323 hours per customer.year. Calculations using ETAP existing conditions, Citarik Feeder SAIFI 1.0679 faults per customer.year, SAIDI 12.9629 hours per customer.year. To increase reliability, a recloser was implemented on the feeder and the most optimal reliability index was obtained, namely, Citarik Feeder SAIFI 0.9885 faults per customer.year, SAIDI 12.8447 hours per customer.year

Abstract

Solar radiation has a great effect on the output of the photovoltaic system. Wind speed is directly related to the cooling of the PV system and can also affect the performance of the solar collector. This research looks at the influence of temperature and wind on the efficiency of solar panels. From the results of the tests and calculations, it was found that the temperature of the single crystal panel measured on that day was 44°C, and the temperature of the polycrystalline panel was 43°C. The effect of wind speed on the efficiency of the solar module, calculated based on calculations using the linear regression method, shows a correlation level of R = 0.0281. This means that only about 2.81% wind speed will affect it. Has solar module efficiency. From the various aspects of the calculations carried out, we can see that the efficiency of the single crystal panel is 11.716%, while the efficiency of the polycrystalline panel is 10.02%. From the calculation results, we can conclude that the efficiency of the single crystal module is significantly increased.

Abstract

The increase in the use of mineral oil or petroleum as insulation for electrical equipment is increasing every year due to the function to withstand the breakdown voltage on electrical equipment, namely the transformer, this mineral oil can withstand a breakdown voltage of >30 KV/2.5mm according to the standards set by the PLN. Based on data obtained on January 9, 2021, from the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, it is stated that Indonesia's oil reserves will run out in 9.5 years with the assumption that no new reserves will be discovered in the future. This research was conducted to test several vegetable oils, to be able to reduce or replace the function of mineral oil which is getting thinner every year. The method used in this test is a direct test method with vegetable oils such as candlenut oil, castor oil, and coconut oil on the breakdown voltage. In the research and testing that has been done on coconut cooking oil, candlenut oil and castor oil, the breakdown voltage values obtained are 12.93 kV, 14 kV, and 68.73 kV. So it can be said based on the results of the tests carried out that castor oil has a breakdown voltage of 68.73 kV, it means that it is possible to be used as an alternative to existing transformer oil, because it has a breakdown voltage according to the standards set by PLN.
