Abstract

The development of community-based tourism increasingly relies on training programs to enhance local capacity; however, their effectiveness often remains limited to short-term learning outcomes. This study evaluates the effectiveness of homestay management training in Kuta Village, Mandalika Special Economic Zone, by addressing the gap between learning outcomes and business performance. Using a convergent mixed-methods design based on the Kirkpatrick Model, quantitative data were collected from 50 homestay managers through Likert-scale questionnaires, complemented by in-depth interviews with 15 key stakeholders. The results show high participant satisfaction (Level 1) and strong learning outcomes (Level 2), with 66%–70% of respondents rating training on guest service, room cleanliness, and food management as effective to highly effective. However, effectiveness declines in strategic competencies, with only 42% reporting effectiveness in digital marketing and 34% in foreign language skills. At the behavioral level (Level 3), improvements are evident in service and cleanliness practices, but remain inconsistent in business management and in digital marketing adoption, with 52% of respondents still facing difficulties with digital promotion. At the results level (Level 4), training contributes to improved service quality and homestay image. Nevertheless, its impact on occupancy and income remains moderate, as 48% of respondents report constraints related to infrastructure and capital. This study offers a novel contribution by empirically demonstrating the training transfer gap (Level 2 to Level 3) in community-based homestay contexts within a super-priority tourism destination. It extends the Kirkpatrick Model by integrating structural constraints into training evaluation. Practically, the findings highlight the need to combine training with continuous mentoring and institutional support to achieve sustainable tourism outcomes.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the lack of physical fitness among students in participating in physical education classes. This study aims to determine the level of physical fitness of 10th grade students at MAN 1 Padang. This study is descriptive in nature. This research was conducted at MAN 1 Padang City. The population in this study was 345 students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, so the sample in this study was 36 students, 14 boys and 22 girls. The test used was the Indonesian Student Fitness Test (TKSI), and the aspects observed were 1) Hand and eye coordination test 2) Vertical jump test 3) T test 4) Hand touch reaction test 5) Dipping Test 6) Beep test. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistics. Based on the data analysis, the following conclusions were drawn: 1) The hand and eye coordination test for boys and girls was in the moderate category. 2) The vertical jump test for boys was in the moderate category, while that for girls was in the good category. 3) The T test for boys was in the good category, while that for girls was in the moderate category. 4) The hand touch reaction test for boys and girls was in the good category. 5) The dipping test for boys and girls was in the moderate category. 6) The beep test for boys and girls was in the poor category. Thus, the physical fitness level of Grade X students at MAN 1 Padang City was in the moderate category.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between achievement motivation and the performance of soccer players at SSB Perisai in Payakumbuh. This study employs a quantitative descriptive approach using a correlational method. The study population consisted of 35 players, with a sample of 20 selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used was a achievement motivation questionnaire with a Likert scale covering aspects of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Data analysis techniques included the Liliefors normality test and product-moment correlation analysis. The results indicate a significant relationship between achievement motivation and player performance, with a correlation coefficient of 0.781—greater than the critical value of 0.444 at a significance level of α = 0.05. This suggests that the higher a player’s achievement motivation, the better their performance. Thus, achievement motivation plays a crucial role in enhancing soccer players’ performance.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the match statistics of the men’s indoor hockey final between Indonesia and Malaysia at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. The research used a quantitative descriptive method with a match analysis approach. The population included all matches in the tournament, while the sample was the final match between Indonesia and Malaysia selected through total sampling. Data were collected through documentation and indirect observation by analyzing match videos and official statistical reports. The analysis covered offensive, defensive, possession, and basic technical indicators. The results showed that Malaysia dominated ball possession (52%), total shots (52), shots on target (22), and successful passes (228). However, Indonesia was more effective in converting opportunities into goals and demonstrated stronger defensive performance. In conclusion, match outcomes are influenced not only by possession dominance but also by finishing efficiency, defensive discipline, and the ability to maximize crucial opportunities.
