Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country that experiences very high rainfall. Very heavy rainfall is the reason for flooding. During the rainy season, continuous rain causes the volume of water in the river to increase and has the potential to cause flooding in several areas. Therefore, an early flood detection tool is needed as an alarm to detect and monitor the increase in water volume in the river and as a measure of rainfall that occurs by utilizing Internet of Things technology to make it easier for people to obtain information about the flood alert status in the area. This early flood detection tool method uses the JSN-SR04T sensor which is used to measure the water level in the river, the YL-83 sensor which is used to estimate the rainfall that occurs, Telegram as an Internet of Things media, and Solar panels as Off Grid PLTS. After testing and analyzing the early flood detection tool using ESP8266 based on the Internet of Things in flood-prone areas, the conclusion is that the early flood detection tool works well and the results achieved are in accordance with the function and work of the tool

Abstract

One use of internet of things (IoT) technology is in remote monitoring systems, for example home monitoring systems. One medium that can be used to control an IoT system is a messaging application.  In this research, a doorbell monitoring system using IoT-based ESP32-CAM was designed by connecting the doorbell with the ESP32-CAM. ESP32-CAM is used as a microcontroller that connects all devices. The advantage of the ESP32-CAM is that it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a secure digital (SD) card module, and a camera that is directly embedded on the board. The doorbell and ESP32-CAM are connected to each other with the door lock solenoid and power supply. To operate the tool, a Telegram messaging application is used using Telegram's bot. Telegram bots can be accessed with a bot ID and bot token created using BotFather. This system has no noise when the doorbell is pressed. The ESP32-CAM camera can take good quality images and testing on the chat bot went well. The door lock solenoid can work according to commands in the Telegram chat bot and all commands have been tested and provide information in the form of chat in the form of text and images. The research results of this system allow homeowners to see and monitor guests via smartphone in real-time with a time range of 3 to 6 seconds

Abstract

The parking system currently used in the Bukittinggi City parking building is not effective in managing parking, because it does not provide real-time information about the availability of parking spaces. As a result, use of parking spaces is often suboptimal, with some parking spaces remaining empty while others are full. This research aims to develop and test a system that is able to manage parking availability in real-time to maximize the use of existing space. Test results show that this system functions well and provides accurate results, which is very much needed in a tourist city like Bukittinggi. Overall, this system offers an efficient and practical solution to overcome parking challenges in big cities, and has the potential for further development, including integration with automatic payment systems and the use of more sophisticated sensors. This research shows that the Arduino-based Smart Parking system Uno in the Bukittinggi City parking building has succeeded in increasing the efficiency of parking space management. By using components such as push buttons, thermal printers, servo motors, limit switches, and LCD I2C displays, this system provides real-time information about parking availability, making it easier for motorists to find parking spaces quickly

Abstract

Red onion (Allium cepa L.) is an important horticultural commodity in Indonesia that is vulnerable to air pollutants, especially dust and dew that can disrupt the photosynthesis process and trigger diseases such as fusarium wilt. This research aims to design a remote monitoring and watering system based on Internet of Things (IoT) using ESP32-CAM. The system automatically takes images of red onion leaves every morning and sends them to the farmer's Telegram, allowing farmers to analyze leaf conditions and activate remote watering if necessary. This system not only improves monitoring efficiency and decision-making but also reduces excessive pesticide use due to delayed handling. Thus, this system is expected to be an innovative and sustainable solution in supporting smart farming practices for red onions in highland areas. Abstract

Mobility remains a significant challenge for individuals with visual impairments due to the difficulty in detecting obstacles around them. This study aims to design and develop a Smart Belt to assist visually impaired users by detecting obstacles and tracking their location in real time. The Smart Belt is equipped with a VL53L0X LiDAR sensor to detect frontal obstacles and a NEO-6MV2 GPS module for location tracking. Data collected from the sensors is processed by an ESP32 microcontroller and delivered to the user via a Telegram bot as notifications. Testing results indicate that the device is capable of accurately detecting obstacles and providing vibration alerts, while also successfully transmitting location coordinates to Telegram with satisfactory accuracy. This innovation is expected to enhance the independence and safety of visually impaired individuals in their daily activities

Abstract

Industrial electrical panels play a crucial role in electrical systems, particularly in power distribution and electric machine control panels that operate continuously during production processes. However, they also pose a potential fire hazard due to factors such as human error or equipment malfunction, including high temperatures, gas leaks, or undetectable installation errors. This study aims to design a fire alarm monitoring system based on the Internet of Things using an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with a DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor, an MQ-2 gas sensor, and a flame sensor. The research adopts an experimental method. A three-phase distribution panel is used in this study. Based on the test results, sensor data can be displayed in real time through an LCD and the Blynk application, and automatically logged to Google Sheets. The results demonstrate that the system is capable of detecting hazardous conditions and providing early warning alerts via an alarm
