Abstract

Citrus peel color is one of the main quality attributes which was caused by the accumulation of carotenoids and its derivatives, especially β-citraurine. It makes citrus peel color looks attractive (orange). The orange color is a mixture of β-cryptoxanthin with β-citraurin. The objectives of this study were (1) to observe the effect of precooling and duration of proper ethylene exposure in the formation of orange color on citrus peel, (2) to identify and determine the β-cryptoxanthin content and total chlorophyll on citrus peel. Citrus was from Tuban, East Java while the study was conducted at PKHT IPB and LIPI. Precooling and without precooling treatment prior to injection of 100 ppm of ethylene exposed at 15 °C, duration of exposure control (0), 24, and 48 hours. The results show that the best color of the Citrus Color Index (CCI) is the precooling treatment and the duration of ethylene exposure for 24 hours, which can reduce total chlorophyll content about 8 times and proved to increase β-cryptoxanthin pigment content five times in accelerating the formation of orange citrus reticulata peel color to bright orange. Degreening has no significant effect on total dissolved solids and the firmness level of citrus fruits.Keyword: β-cryptoxhantin; citrus; chlorophyll; degreening; ethylene zeaxanthin.

Abstract

Abstract

The background in designing Klayar Resort in Pacitan is based on the natural and cultural potential and the existed issue of cultural shift. The phenomenology architecture study is applied to grasp the phenomena where the architect acts as the instrument. The design goal is to represent a recreation place in creating a temporary living space, within the phenomenology comprehension of the physical and non-physical identification, where the place is capable of resurrecting the spirit of place with the identity that has already been formed. It is expected that the tourists can make a self-orientation and self-identification with the surrounding by understanding the actual phenomena. The design issues that will be completed covers the determination of society and tourists’ activities, the need and circulation space, the selection and processing of the site, the determination of design for each building in accordance with the phenomenology study. The obtained result will be a shelter in a form of a resort that is able to provide needs, both for the local society and the tourists, which is based on the existing phenomena, so that it will be able to represent the environment of the tourism area of Klayar beach. Keywords: Culture, Phenomenology Architecture, Tourism Area, Resort

Abstract

The potential of Indonesian culinary field is increasing every year, indicated by inflation in the business sector and culinary tourism. This suggests a potential in the culinary field to be developed. The strategy to support the national culinary development program includes improving the quality of education in the culinary field. Therefore it takes an educational space that is able to develop creative human resources in the culinary field. Culinary field is one of the promising areas in the development of Surakarta travel, so other than as an educational space, a culinary center can be a tourist attraction culinary Surakarta. Metaphor Architecture is used as an approach in the planning and architecture, considering that Metaphor Architecture can visually communicate the building functions to the public. Architectural Metaphor used is Tangible Architectural Metaphor, so that the form will be designed in such Metaphor to be able to communicate the existence of Culinary Center and Culinary landmark of Surakarta City. Problems in planning and designing Culinary Center ie what form it will be used as the basis of an analogy to be a metaphor ? Be used stages of creative thinking in design the Culinary Center with Metaphor Architectural Approach . Based on typical food survey Solo , liwet rice has the highest number of respondents as the most representative food the city of Solo , so liwet rice will be to the main idea into a form that will be used as a metaphor in designing Culinary Center. Keywords: Culinary Education, Culinary Center, Creative Thinking,  Metaphor Architecture, Tangible Metaphor Architecture

Abstract

Pacitan Regency is an area that has a huge potential for tourism that is growing very rapidly. The beach has a beautiful natural landscape, as a natural geopark and gets wide publications through social media. The environment has the potential to threaten serious damage if the tourism area is not planned properly. Pacitan area is also an area with high risk of earthquake and tsunami natural disasters. Tourism development can adversely affect environmental and socio-cultural changes. Natural disasters can have a high risk of loss of life and material. This research aims to produce a sustainability development planning concept, able to prosper the local community and be responsive to natural disasters. The research method uses a advocacy-participatory paradigm and a Qualitative research strategies that combine grounded observation techniques and phenomenology. Research analysis uses SWOT to find problem solutions. This research produced a sustainable ecological development concept and disaster response planning in the Pacitan tourism area. The concept emphasizes the socio-cultural and economy development of local communities and the natural environment preservation. The concept can be used as a guide to regional planning models and partial planning in Pacitan tourism areas on the future

Abstract

The school of nature is an educational model that utilizes nature's potential as the main learning method. Therefore, to realize a natural school that can pay attention to the surrounding natural conditions, then selected using the principle design of tropical architecture. The application of the concept of tropical architecture to the building of SMP Alam Lebah Putih aims to support natural-based learning method and to exploit local climate potential, that is tropical climate. The research method used is applied research, through the exploration of ideas and data collection which then concluded and become the guidance in the design analysis. The application of the principle of tropical architecture in the building of SMP Alam Lebah Putih, based on the analysis that is set on the mass building, the building mass, the orientation of the building, and the material applied.
