Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the digital skills of students and administrators at Pondok Pesantren Anwarul Quran in creating and managing websites using Google Sites. In today’s digital era, educational institutions, including Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), require an online platform to disseminate information and manage administration more effectively. A well-designed website enables pesantren to promote its educational programs, document activities, and improve communication with a broader audience. The methods used in this program include direct training, practical mentoring, and continuous evaluation. Participants were introduced to the basics of website development using Google Sites, hands-on website creation, and strategies for independently managing and updating content. The results of this program show that students and administrators have acquired fundamental skills in website development and management. Consequently, pesantren can enhance its online presence and strengthen its visibility in the digital world. The success of this initiative demonstrates that similar programs can be implemented in other pesantren to support digital transformation in faith-based education.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the strategies for optimizing the management of zakat, infak, and sadaqah (ZIS) funds in Islamic Rural Banks (BPRS) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Methodology – Using a qualitative approach and case study method, this research explores the practices of ZIS fundraising, distribution mechanisms, and empowerment program innovations implemented by the selected BPRS. Findings – The study finds that optimizing ZIS fund management in BPRS relies on three key strategies: community-based distribution, digital fundraising innovation, and collaborative empowerment programs. The synergy between BPRS, zakat institutions, and local stakeholders enhances public trust, increases participation, and strengthens the role of BPRS in promoting inclusive economic development. Implications – These findings provide actionable insights for BPRS and other Islamic financial institutions to design and implement more optimal and sustainable ZIS management strategies. The study also highlights the potential for BPRS to contribute more significantly to inclusive economic development through improved ZIS governance. Originality – This research contributes to the limited literature on the role of Islamic Rural Banks in ZIS management. It offers a fresh perspective by examining the integration of technology and stakeholder collaboration in a localized Indonesian context, which has been relatively underexplored in prior studies.

Abstract

Low birth weight (LBW) is a significant factor contributing to neonatal asphyxia, a critical condition occurring during the neonatal period. This study aims to investigate the correlation between LBW and the incidence of neonatal asphyxia at Permata Madina General Hospital, located in Panyabungan District, Mandailing Natal Regency in 2023. Employing an analytical survey method with a cross-sectional approach, the study population comprised 48 patients at the hospital. Samples were selected using a total sampling technique. Data analysis involved univariate and bivariate analyses, including frequency distribution and the Chi-Square test. Results revealed that 20 respondents (41.7%) had low birth weight babies, with the majority of cases of neonatal asphyxia occurring in this group (15 respondents, 31.3%). Statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between LBW and neonatal asphyxia at Permata Madina General Hospital in 2023, with a p-value of 0.002 (p<0.05). The findings suggest that babies with low birth weight are at greater risk of experiencing asphyxia compared to those with normal birth weight. The study emphasizes the importance of enhancing the quality of healthcare services in hospitals to facilitate early detection and treatment of LBW infants, thereby reducing the incidence of neonatal asphyxia among this vulnerable population.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of activity-based learning models in improving students' learning motivation in the subject of Aqidah Akhlaq, especially in the material of the attributes of Allah in class VII MTs. Miftahul Ulum Kareteng. The background of this study is the low motivation of students to understand the concept of the attributes of Allah, which is caused by conventional learning methods that do not actively involve students. Therefore, the activity-based learning model is applied to improve student participation and understanding of the material being taught. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. Each cycle includes the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, learning motivation questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The subjects of this study were 30 students of class VII MTs. Miftahul Ulum Kareteng. The results of the study showed that the application of the activity-based learning model can significantly increase students' learning motivation. This can be seen from the increasing involvement of students in the learning process, their increasing curiosity about the material being studied, and the increasing learning outcomes of students after the application of this method. In addition, students are more active in discussions, group work, and practical activities designed to strengthen their understanding of the attributes of Allah. In conclusion, the activity-based learning model can be an effective alternative in improving students' motivation and learning outcomes in the subject of Aqidah Akhlaq. Teachers are advised to apply this method continuously to create a more interesting and interactive learning atmosphere.

This research was conducted in the form of Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles. Each cycle includes four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation of student activities, field notes, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the interactive storytelling method succeeded in improving student understanding and learning outcomes. In the first cycle, the percentage of student learning completion reached 65%, and in the second cycle it increased to 85%. In addition, students looked more enthusiastic, active, and involved in the learning process. They found it easier to grasp the meaning of each Asmaul Husna taught because this method made learning feel more alive and interactive.
