Abstract

Misconceptions or misunderstandings can occur due to additions or deletions of what is inherent in the concept. Misconceptions can cause misunderstandings that cause difficulties for students in understanding the learning process. The aim of this research is to identify several misconceptions that occur among PGMI 3 UINSU students regarding the application of polya theory to plane material. The type of research used in this research is qualitative descriptive research in the form of a test on completing students' mathematics results accompanied by interviews related to flat shape material with the application of polya theory. The results of this research show that there are several misconceptions, namely not including the name of the flat figure in the problem, not giving cm marks for the base and height units, and the planning stage of the formula used being incomplete, not making polya theory steps in working on the problem and not evaluating final results or not writing conclusions. This is because students are not used to writing conclusions and also assume that the final calculation result obtained is the solution to the problem. The type of error found in question number 1 is 31.5% and in number 26.2%. From 39 students, a sample of 19 students was taken. 8 students answered the questions correctly and 11 students made mistakes. It is hoped that this misconception will not happen again to other prospective teacher students.

Abstract

Students often find it difficult to solve math problems, this is due to a lack of understanding of the problems presented. So many students experience errors in answering. As happened to PGMI-3 students, who experienced misconceptions when working on mathematics problems, especially on the circumference of flat shapes using Polya Theory. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this research were PGMI-3 class students. The aim of this research is to describe the forms of misconceptions experienced by students when working on mathematical problems on plane material using Polya Theory. From the research results, it was found that the form of misconception carried out by students was poor perception

Abstract

This article identifies various types of misconceptions experienced by UIN North Sumatra students when they solve problems related to mathematical series operations material, as well as to understand the causes of misconceptions among students in this context. This research uses qualitative methods in the form of descriptive research with the data collection method used is a test to identify misconceptions that students may experience. The results of the analysis show that students still often experience misconceptions when solving problems related to geometric series operations. The types of misconceptions identified among students include translation misconceptions, concept misconceptions, sign misconceptions, and systematic misconceptions. The causes of misconceptions can generally be attributed to students, with several factors at play. Misconceptions can occur due to wrong preconceptions that students previously had, incomplete or wrong reasoning in solving problems, and students' abilities that may still be lacking in understanding the material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perspektif guru matematika dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar siswa sekolah dasar bagaimana faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar dan solusi yang diusulkan untuk mengatasi kesulitan  yang  dialami oleh guru selama proses  pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan  kualitatif,  sedangkan jenis penelitian yang diimplementasikan yaitu diskriptif. Subjek penelitian  dalam penelitian ini merupakan guru kelas IV sekolah dasar. Pengumpulan  data  dilakukan melalui wawancara terstruktur dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa terdapat beberapa perspektif guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar siswa yang meliputi:1. Adanya factor internal dan factor eksternal terhadap penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa ; 2. Terdapat kesulitan yang seringkali didapati oleh guru matematika dalam pembelajaran; 3. Strategi guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar siswa. Solusi yang ditawarkan dalam mengatasi kesulitan-kesulitan dalam proses pembelajaran matematika yaitu dengan melakukan 6M yaitu;1). Menjalin kerjasama kepada orang tua siswa agar dapat mendukung, membimbing, serta mengarahkan siswa dalam belajar. 2).  Memastikan kesiapan dan fokus siswa untuk belajar. 3). Memberikan motivasi belajar kepada siswa baik dari guru maupun lingkungan keluarga. 4). Menggunakan strategi serta media yang menarik. 5). Memberikan ruang untuk bereksplorasi. 6). Memberikan soal atau tes pada batas kemampuan siswa.

Abstract

Kepala sekolah merupakan pemimpin pendidikan di sekolah. Ia bertanggung jawab atas keberhasilan pendidikan di sekolah. Kepemimpinan adalah cara seorang pemimpin mempengaruhi perilaku bawahan, agar mau bekerja sama dan bekerja secara produktif untuk mencapai tujuan organisasi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian jenis kualitatif dengan melalui wawancara terstruktur dan studi pustaka (Literature Review). Wawancara terstruktur adalah sebuah prosedur sistematis untuk menggali informasi mengenai responden dengan kondisi dimana satu set pertanyaan ditanyakan dengan urutan yang telah disiapkan oleh pewawancara dan jawabannya direkam dalam bentuk yang terstandardisasi. Studi pustaka (Literature Review) yaitu metode dengan pengumpulan data dengan cara memahami dan mempelajari teori-teori dari berbagai literatur yang berhubungan dengan penelitian tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah SMP IT Mutiara. Gaya kepemimpinan yang digunakan oleh kepala sekolah SMP IT Mutiara yaitu menggunakan gaya kepemimpinan demokratis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwasannya gaya kepemimpinan yang digunakan oleh kepala sekolah SMP IT Mutiara memiliki pengaruh terhadap kinerja guru.

Abstract

Matematika adalah pelajaran yang paling dasar yang digunakan untuk mempelajari pelajaran-pelajaran lain. Misalnya pelajaran ekonomi, akuntansi, manajemen, atau pelajaran IPA seperti: biologi, kimia, atau fisika. Semua pelajaran ini kan pasti akan berhitung, membagi, mengkali, serta mengurangi, jadi jika tidak mempelajari pelajaran matematika bagaimana semua pelajaran tersebut bisa diketahui tanpa mengetahui terlebih dahulu. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui bagaimana siswa di SD S AL-Ittihadiyah mengenal atau mengetahui konsep deret aritmatika dan geometri. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode kualitatif dengan wawancara dan pengamatan, subjek penelitian ini ialah siswa-siswi kelas VI di SD laut dendang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hanya beberapa siswa yang kurang paham tentang deret aritmatika dan geometri.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS). Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan adalah peneli kualitatif. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini siswa dengan kategori. Pengambilan subjek berdasarkan hasil tes yang diperoleh siswa. Materi barisan dan deret aritmatika diberikan untuk melihat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam meneyelesaikan soal HOTS. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal HOTS materi barisan dan deret aritmatika soal yang diberikan masih tergolong sangat rendah. subjek menunjukan bahwa siswa lebih cenderung merasa kesulitan pada saat memasuki tahap menganalisis dan mengevaluasi. Siswa sering lupa dengan konsep yang terkait dengan soal sehingga menyulitkan mereka untuk menyelesaiakan soal apalagi soal yang berbentuk soal HOTS yang lebih bersifat kontekstual dan membutukan kemampuan untuk menganalisis dan mengevaluasi yang tinggi.

Abstract

The Qur'an contains scientific passages that offer mathematical instructions, serving as a source of scientific knowledge. The objective of this book is to attain a more profound comprehension of the mathematical data contained within the Qur'an. The literature review is the main research technique adopted in this study, focusing on scientific works that analyze mathematical information in the Qur'an. Abstract

Geometry is one of the important roles in mathematiecs that student need to learn, because it can helpdevolop skills in problem solving. However, there are still errors that often occur in solving problems regarding geometry. This research aims to produce learning media based on a cooperative approach as a tool for learning arithmetic and geometric sequences to find out whether this educational smart puzzle learning media can be effectively applied in learning arithmetic and geometric sequences. The development model used is the 4D model proposed by Thigarajan which consists of four stages, namely the definition, design, development and deployment stages. The results of this effectiveness test show that student learning achievement by learning using educational smart puzzle media is better than learning without using this media. So it is concluded that this educational smart puzzle learning media is effective and feasible to apply in learning arithmetic and geometric sequences is SMA Baitul Rahman Sei Mencirim.

Abstract

In learning mathematics, critical and logical thinking processes are needed to solve problems correctly, including material about arithmetic sequences and series, which requires good concentration in studying it. This type of research is descriptive qualitative which aims to analyze students' thinking processes in solving problems of arithmetic sequences and series. The subjects in this research were class XI high school students. One of the abilities developed in learning mathematics is the ability to solve problems. Students can do math problems but are not good enough at analyzing and thinking optimally. This causes students' low ability to solve mathematical problems. The research results showed that students were able to work on calculated reasoning cycle questions. Because, in responding to or answering these questions the subject will generally use ideas that have been researched, and the subject can communicate or understand the methods taken to overcome these problems. Some students who use a semi-reasonable reasoning cycle when evaluated in solving problems are not ready to communicate it in their own words. In understanding a problem, students have used these ideas but not enough and students cannot. don't understand the steps to solve this problem. The equation used is correct, but the steps to overcome it are still inappropriate.
