Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of transformational leadership and principals’ work motivation on teachers’ performance at public junior high schools in Tanjung Lubuk District. The research background is based on the importance of improving teachers’ performance as a key determinant of the quality of learning processes and student outcomes. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of all 86 teachers from public junior high schools in Tanjung Lubuk District, all of whom were included as samples through a census technique. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to determine the partial and simultaneous effects of transformational leadership (X₁) and principals’ work motivation (X₂) on teachers’ performance (Y). The findings indicate that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on teachers’ performance. Principals’ work motivation also has a positive and significant effect on teachers’ performance. Simultaneously, both variables contribute significantly to improving teacher performance. Thus, it can be concluded that enhancing transformational leadership practices and principals’ work motivation plays a vital role in improving teachers’ professionalism and performance at public junior high schools in Tanjung Lubuk District.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of visionary leadership and principals’ communication skills on teachers’ performance at public elementary schools in Cluster I, Tanjung Lubuk District. The background of this research lies in the importance of principals’ roles in inspiring teachers and establishing effective communication to improve teaching quality. This research applied a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population consisted of all 60 teachers at public elementary schools in Cluster I, Tanjung Lubuk District, all of whom were taken as samples using the census technique. The data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire based on a Likert scale that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression to determine both partial and simultaneous effects among the variables. The results revealed that principals’ visionary leadership had a positive and significant influence on teachers’ performance, as did their communication skills. Simultaneously, both variables contributed significantly to improving teachers’ performance. Therefore, effective visionary leadership combined with strong communication skills from the principal can enhance teachers’ professionalism and performance in public elementary schools in Cluster I, Tanjung Lubuk District.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine and describe the significant influence of principals’ leadership styles and organizational culture on the improvement of educational quality in elementary schools within the Mesuji Raya District. The study will be carried out in elementary schools located in the Mesuji Raya District. A quantitative descriptive method is employed in this research. The population comprises all teachers from 24 elementary schools in the Mesuji Raya District, totaling 302 individuals. Based on the sampling calculations, the sample consists of 80 teachers from 6 selected elementary schools. Data were collected using questionnaires and documentation techniques. The data analysis procedures include normality testing, linearity testing, simple regression analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, and F-tests. The findings of this study reveal that principals’ leadership styles and organizational culture have a positive influence on the improvement of educational quality in elementary schools in the Mesuji Raya District.
