Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of family economics on children's education levels in Sibio-bio Village, Sibabangun District. The type of research used is descriptive research. The population in this study was 284 heads of families. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. The data collection technique in this research uses questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Then the data obtained in this research will be analyzed using Product Moment Correlation Test analysis, coefficient of determination, and t test. Based on calculations from the results of data analysis obtained using SPSS Software version 22, the value of t = 5.319, while the t table = 1.687, can be seen if the t count is greater than the t table (5.319> 1.687), with a significant value = 0.00 at the 95% confidence level. or 5% confidence level =0.05. In this way, it can be seen that the significant value is smaller than α = 0.05 (0.00 <0.05). From these results it is known that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Thus, it is concluded that there is a significant influence between the family economy and the level of children's education in Sibio-bio Village, Sibabangun District.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a textbook Economics with a Constructivist Approach Based on the 7E Learning Cycle to Improve High School Students' Critical Thinking and Collaboration Skills. This research is a development research (Development Research) with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The development of this textbook involved 4 validators who assess the format, language and content of the textbook. Data were collected using a validation sheet instrument aimed at obtaining reviews and recommendations for the developed textbook product. Validity analysis was carried out by descriptive percentage analysis by determining the Average Percentage Score (PRS) of achievement of each component of the validated aspect. Based on data analysis from the assessment results of 4 validators, the average score (PRS) of the textbook on the format aspect was 78 (moderate), language aspect 86.67 (High), and content aspect 82.22 (High), the overall average was 82.29 (High). From the PRS results obtained, it can be concluded that the economics textbook with a constructivist approach based on the Learning Cycle 7E to improve critical thinking and collaboration skills of high school students meets the validity aspect and can be implemented in high school students' economics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Gerakan Gemar Membaca (Love to Read Movement) program on improving students' reading interest at SMK N 4 Padangsidimpuan. The research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental design, involving two groups: the experimental group participating in the Gerakan Gemar Membaca program and the control group not participating. A purposive sampling technique was used, with a total of 60 students, 30 in each group. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire measuring reading interest, administered before and after the program, along with observations of literacy activities. The collected data were analyzed using a t-test to compare the pre-test and post-test scores between the two groups. The results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group, with the average post-test score reaching 78.00, while the control group scored an average of 65.00. This indicates that the Gerakan Gemar Membaca program has a positive impact on enhancing students' reading interest. The study concludes that the implementation of literacy programs such as Gerakan Gemar Membaca is effective in improving students' reading interest in secondary schools. Therefore, it is recommended that the program be continued and expanded to foster a stronger reading culture among students.

Abstract

Psychological well-being is an individual's perception of their life experiences. Well-being is the basis of life and the standard for enjoying life. If an individual's well-being is not good, he will judge himself as bad. His life experience is bad, his way of assessing life is bad, his motivation to change his life is also bad (Bradburn, 1998). One of the factors that influences psychological well-being is social support which is defined as a sense of comfort, attention, appreciation or perceived help. by an individual obtained from various sources, including partners, family, friends, coworkers, and social organizations (C. D Ryff, 1989). The presence of social support can foster feelings of being loved (Ermayanti & Abdullah, 2007), appreciated, cared for, and as part of a social network, such as a community organization within the individual. The term Psychological well-being is a term for welfare. Based on observations we made in Purwodadi Village, Batunadua District, Padangsidimpuan City, there are 1,016 residents consisting of 482 male residents, 534 female residents, of which there are 238 male heads of families, and 83 female heads of families, 8 male orphans, 7 female orphans, 19 male children separated, 35 female separated, and 6 female separated and divorced. This shows that many children are dependent on single parent family heads

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendukung pencapaian SDGs 11 melalui pengimplementasian nilai-nilai keberlanjutan dan gerakan Zero Waste di Desa Pasar Lama. Program Grow Green ini berfokus pada penanaman nilai penting dalam pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga berbasis prinsip 5R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replace, Replant). Survey yang dilakukan mengidentifikasi bahwa setiap rumah tangga di desa menghasilkan rata-rata 3 kg sampah per hari, dengan komposisi sampah organik (50%), anorganik (33%), dan bahan berbahaya (17%). Hasil survey menunjukkan potensi besar untuk mengelola sampah organik menjadi kompos serta mendaur ulang sampah anorganik, khususnya plastik. Penyuluhan kepada 25 pemuda desa meningkatkan pemahaman mereka tentang prinsip 5R, dengan lebih dari 80% peserta dapat mempraktikkannya. Pelatihan keterampilan mengolah sampah menjadi produk bernilai jual, seperti sofa dari limbah plastik, membuka peluang ekonomi dengan margin keuntungan 40%. Evaluasi program menunjukkan 75% rumah tangga menerapkan prinsip 5R, meskipun prinsip Recycle dan Rot masih perlu perhatian lebih. Program ini berkontribusi pada pengurangan dampak lingkungan, peningkatan kesejahteraan ekonomi, dan mendukung SDGs 11 tentang keberlanjutan lingkungan dan pemukiman yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a biology learning device based on socio-scientific issues (SSI) assisted by a Learning Management System (LMS). It employs the ADDIE development model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, including needs analysis, initial and final analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects consisted of one material expert, one media expert, and 36 high school students. Data were collected using assessment instruments and questionnaires to obtain reviews and recommendations from experts on the developed biology learning device. Based on data analysis from the assessment results of two validators, the average score (PRS) of biology learning devices in the aspect of biological study information is 80 (high), the aspect of learning organization is 82 (high), the aspect of web/LMS operational presentation is 82 (high), and the aspect of biological study language is 84 (high), thus making the overall average of 82.29 (high). From the PRS results obtained, it can be concluded that the LMS biology learning device based on SSI to improve the argumentation and reflective judgment skills of high school students meets the validity aspect and can be implemented in high school students' biology learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive learning media based on the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach to enhance students’ economic and environmental literacy at the secondary school level. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects were 30 tenth-grade students from SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan. The instruments used included expert validation sheets, pre-test and post-test questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The validation results indicated that the media was categorized as highly feasible with an average score of 91.5%. The student trial showed that 86% of the students found the media very helpful, and 14% found it helpful in understanding the learning materials. The effectiveness test showed a significant improvement in students' economic and environmental literacy scores, with an average pre-test score of 62 and a post-test score of 85. The N-Gain value of 0.61 indicated a moderate to high level of effectiveness. This media proved to be academically effective and socially relevant, as it supports contextual learning, critical thinking, and awareness of environmental sustainability. Therefore, the STEM-based interactive media is feasible to be used as an interdisciplinary learning alternative under the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the level of financial literacy integration within the Economic Education curriculum and to identify dominant and underdeveloped dimensions of financial literacy among students. The research was conducted at the Economic Education Study Program of the Institute of Education Tapanuli Selatan, involving 146 active students as respondents. The research method employed a descriptive quantitative approach, using a Likert-scale questionnaire developed based on financial literacy indicators from Atkinson & Messy (2012) and Lusardi & Mitchell (2014). The findings reveal that the integration of financial literacy into the curriculum is categorized as high, with an average score of 75.49%. The highest score was obtained in the area of personal financial planning and management (81.18%), while the lowest score was in future financial planning (68.46%). These results indicate that short-term financial literacy is well addressed in the learning process, whereas long-term financial planning requires further emphasis. This research concludes that although financial literacy integration is present, the curriculum still needs adjustments to become more practical and contextual. Recommendations include developing specialized financial literacy courses, adopting project-based learning methods, and conducting regular curriculum evaluations to enhance students’ preparedness in facing the challenges of the digital economy

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using ICT (Information Communication Technology)-based learning media on the economic learning outcomes of Grade X ADM students at SMK Swasta Panca Dharma, Padangsidimpuan City. The method used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive quantitative method involving all 30 students of Grade X ADM as the total sample. Data were collected through a closed questionnaire based on a Likert scale to measure the use of learning media and documentation of the odd semester The data analysis technique used is the t-test. The descriptive analysis results show that the average use of ICT-based learning media falls into the 'Good' category with an average score of 75.67, while the students' learning outcomes in economics also fall into the 'Good' category with an average score of 75.23. The hypothesis test using the t-test shows a calculated t-value of 5.879, which is greater than the table t-value of 1.699 and the significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of ICT-based learning media usage on students' learning outcomes in economics. It can be concluded that the use of ICT-based learning media has been proven to positively contribute to improving the learning outcomes in economics for students at Panca Dharma Private Vocational School in Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Economics Textbook using a Contextual Approach based on TPACK to improve students' problem-solving and creative thinking skills. The research employs a development research method using the ADDIE model, which consists of Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation phases. The development process involved six expert validators who assessed the textbook's format, language, and content. Validation instruments were used to collect data and obtain feedback for improvement. The validity analysis was conducted using descriptive percentage analysis, calculating the Average Percentage Score (PRS) for each validated aspect. The results show that the Economics Textbook developed with a Contextual TPACK-based approach meets validity criteria. The average percentage scores (PRS) were 81 for format, 87.82 for language, and 83.13 for content, with an overall average of 83.98, all falling into the high category. This textbook is suitable for implementation in economics courses at the higher education level and is expected to significantly enhance students' critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills by promoting more active and meaningful learning experiences.
