Abstract

Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional or JKN realized as the one of problem solving for equity of healthcare in Indonesian setting. At the same point, it has to compatible with all aspects in health financing issues by its newly adopted systems. This review aims to reveal JKN health financing policy since it implemented by 2014 in Indonesia. Several bibliographies databases were identified to conduct literature reviews that comprised of international and national/local journals. It founds that JKN principles focuses on mutual support, not-for-profit, good governance, and portability aspects. JKN enrollment consisted of two types polisholders including incapable polis insurance (PBI JKN) that bear by the Indonesian government, and capable polis insurance (none PBI JKN). JKN have to synergize with recent existing challenges including integration from previous regional health insurance (Jamkesda), healthcare facilities, package benefit, financing issue as well as the deficit issue which happened as lower dues that making by JKN polisholder than the high claim by the healthcare facilities particularly in hospitals. Although, JKN emerges to tackle the inequity of healthcare in all Indonesian regions, the existing settled Jamkesda in several regions, particularly regions with high regional income, made JKN integration as the setback health financing on its regions. Limited healthcare facilities that cooperated with BPJS-Kesehatan also challenged the JKN implementation as well as financial lose in affecting by mismatch between medical expenditures with JKN claimed as per package. It concludes that the political willing to choose several options including to prevent JKN deficit depend on the leader commitment to make JKN as not for another journey but it shall be the destination for health financing in Indonesia.

Abstract

Background: Leprosy is an infectious disease that can cause physical disability, as well as social, economic, and cultural problems. The prevalence of leprosy in Indonesia is still high. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine patients' behavioral factors that influence the incidence of leprosy. Methods: An ex-post-facto analysis with a case-control approach was used. The population of the study was the entire Brengkok Village community. The sampling technique is a fixed-disease sampling method, in which the all cases (34 persons) are clinically proven leprosy sufferers and the controls (34 persons) are the comparable neighbors of the sufferers. Data analysis was done using a chi-square test, and the risk of disease was measured by the odd ratio (OR).Results: Testing for differences between the case and the control group resulted in p = 0.000 for knowledge about the cause of leprosy, p = 0.005 for detecting an early sign of leprosy, p = 0.000 for knowledge about the transmission of leprosy, and p = 0.000 for affecting the incidence of leprosy. The results showed that there was a relationship between the level of knowledge and the incidence of leprosy (p = 0.002), while the OR value obtained is 7.50 (CI: 2,168 - 25,946). Furthermore, testing for differences between the case and the control group yielded  p = 1.000 for the use of different clothes; p = 0.000 for the use of different bathing tools; p = 0.000 for the use of different towels, which means there is a connection between the use of towels and the incidence of leprosy; and p = 0.003 for the use of different footwear. In addition, there is a relationship between the actions of people and the incidence of leprosy (p = 0.000), while the OR value obtained was 59,933 (CI: 13.131 - 273,557).Conclusion: The knowledge and actions of people affected by leprosy are predisposing factors associated with the incidence of leprosy and are risk factors for the disease. Knowledge about the transmission of leprosy and the activity of using different towels are the most important factors influencing the incidence of leprosy.

Abstract

Introduction: Tuberculosis (TB) is actually a disease that can be prevented and cured. In 2022, TB became the second leading cause of death in the world after Coronavirus (COVID-19), and caused twice as many deaths as HIV/AIDS. Several studies have stated that climate factors such as exposure to high temperatures, dry environments and exposure to ultraviolet light can influence the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Objective: This research aims to determine the distribution and correlation of climate factors with the number of pulmonary TB cases in Padang City in 2020-2023. Method: This research is an ecological study with the study population of Padang City. In this study the dependent variable is pulmonary TB cases and the independent variables are temperature, precipitation, and humidity. Pearson correlation is used to determine whether or not there is a relationship, the strength of the relationship, and the direction of the relationship between two normally distributed numerical variables. This research also describes descriptively the distribution of pulmonary TB cases in Padang City based on sub-districts using spatial analysis. Result: There is significant relationship in 2022 between temperature (p=0.010) and precipitation (p=0.019) with pulmonary TB cases in Padang City. However, there are no variables of climates related to pulmonary TB when analyzed cumulatively from 2020-2023. Based on the results of spatial analysis, it can be seen that Koto Tangah sub-district is consistently in the high category of pulmonary TB cases in 2020-2023. Conclusion: The research results found that temperature and precipitation in 2022 were significantly related with the incidence of pulmonary TB, while the humidity variable had no significant relationship with the incidence of pulmonary TB cases in Padang City. It is recommended to make climate factors such as one of the considerations in making policies related to the prevention of pulmonary TB.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between management auditing and social and environmental accounting in the context of the development of sustainable business practices. It highlights the shift in management auditing from a financial focus to integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and social and environmental impacts. Through a systematic literature review of 56 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020-2024. The results show that the integration of social and environmental accounting in management auditing contributes to strengthening corporate governance, mitigating reputational risks, and creating sustainable value. The research also highlights challenges in the implementation of management audits integrated with social and environmental accounting, including standardization of measurement methods, limited auditor competence, and regulatory complexity. This conceptual study is limited by its literature-based approach and requires further empirical validation to test the proposed integrated management audit framework in real-world organizational contexts. The theoretical and practical implications of this research provide insights for academics, audit practitioners, and stakeholders in developing a comprehensive and sustainable management audit framework.

Abstract

The current tuberculosis (TB) worldwide situation is very concerning in terms of the number of cases and the death toll, as well as the environmental factors that contribute to its transmission. This has driven policy decisions that aim to enhance contemporary TB control efforts. This study aimed to map the pattern of TB spread based on geographic location, particularly in the highland and coastal areas of Padang City, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This study employed a quantitative descriptive analysis using secondary data from 6 primary health care (PHC) from April 2022 to March 2023, comprising 896 cases. Data analysis was conducted using the ArcGIS program, as well as applying Nearest Neighbor Analysis across the PHC areas. The results indicated that TB cases were more prevalent in coastal areas. The distribution pattern was comparable between the mountainous and coastal areas, as indicated by similar clusters. Geographic differences did not affect the TB transmission pattern in Padang City. The reason for the occurrence of transmission was likely due to close contact, spreading from one person to another. Therefore, more effective education efforts, case detection, and restriction of TB patient movement are necessary to address the issue of interest.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is transmitted through the bites of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes and is still becoming endemic in Bogor District. This quantitative correlation study with an ecological approach aimed to analyze how DHF incidence is influenced by climate factors, population density, Larvae Free Rate (LFR), and the area altitude factor. Secondary data were obtained from the Bogor Regency Health Office; the Central Bureau of Statistics of Bogor District; and the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency. In this study, the spatial analysis method was also used, but only on the area altitude factor. The study’s results showed a significant relationship between climate factors, such as air humidity at a Time Lag of 0 months (r=0.394) and the altitude factor (r=-0.350), and DHF incidence in the Bogor District from 2017 to 2022. Spatial data shows that in districts with lower altitudes, such as Cibinong, Cileungsi, and Gunung Putri, DHF incidence tends to be higher. The Bogor District Health Office, together with the community, may enhance efforts to prevent and control DHF, especially during seasonal transitions and in areas with lower altitudes. Cross-sector collaboration with the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency is also necessary to remain vigilant during climate fluctuations.

Abstract

Hospital information systems (HIS) have been applied on a massive scale; however, user evaluation of their effectiveness, efficiency, and service quality improvements remain rare. This study aimed to describe the utility of information systems from the users’ point of view by using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in a maternity hospital in Lampung, Indonesia. The study provided an overview of the features of the information system and the workflow of the user through this information system. Screenshots were taken by using Camtasia Studio 2.0 Trial Version application software for one day (two shifts) in the outpatient service. The HIS generally supported the workflow, but not all application modules were fully applied. The obstacles appear to be at the registration unit/outpatient registration and queue dashboard, cashier unit, pharmacy unit, medicine storage/room, and poly unit/checking room. A TAM framework, which included perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of the information system, revealed that the currently implemented HIS was not perceived as optimal. However, users are still optimistic and aware of the usefulness of the information system in supporting their jobs. Thus, leaders have committed to initiate the potential development of this information system in the inpatient polyclinic.
