Abstract

Previous decades, sunshine was taking as medication therapy for respiratory infectious as it triggered vitamin D in fostering body immune. The objective of this brief study is to estimate the outcome of Covid-19 patients as they were exposed by sunshine exposure in those were having care delivery in Surabaya referred hospitals, Indonesia. We collected and analyzed the available Covid-19 data from hospitals surveillance data from the local government of Surabaya data center, including the Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency. Three outcomes of Covid-19 were investigated in this study includes: incidence, death, and recovered. The Covid-19 incidence in Surabaya was climbing over the period of investigation. Only the number of dead Covid-19 patients correlated significantly with sunshine exposure in those having care delivery in hospitals (p-value<0.01; r = -0.739). Our findings showed that sunshine correlated significantly with Covid-19’s death outcome in Surabaya.

Abstract

Sleep time is the sleep time needed by nurses as a fulfillment before doing the night shift and sleeping time during the night shift to optimize work productivity to minimize work fatigue. This study aims to determine the relationship between nurses' slept time before and during shifts, slept debt, and shift rotation with fatigue on night shift nurses in the Critical Room of the Kendari City General Hospital in 2020. An analytical survey was conducted with a cross-sectional study. The results showed that there was no relationship between sleep time before the night shift and work fatigue on the night watch nurse (p-value = 0.309), in contrast to sleep time during the night shift, it was found that there was a relationship with work fatigue on the night watch nurse (p-value = 0.003 ). It is recommended that hospital management make standard operating procedures that aim to regulate nurses' sleep time during the night shift to meet their needs and reduce fatigue levels.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Since the tuberculosis (TB) disease in children constitutes a global health problem that has long been neglected, this study sought to predict socioeconomic factors as public-health determinants that could protect children who were exposed to TB in their household. Method: A case-control study of 132 children (under 14 years old) who shared their household with adults suffering from pulmonary TB was conducted in the Province of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. This study consisted of an interview and anthropometry measurement for the controls screening test, while the cases were monitored by pediatricians with a scoring system childhood TB diagnosis from the secondary hospital database. A multiple logistic regression was used to analyze the results. Results: A healthy housing condition, predicted by a naturally illuminated luminary bedroom prevented the incidence of the childhood TB disease (p = 0.043) even if exposed to adult TB in their environment (p = 0.775). Conclusions: Healthy housing factors with good sunlight protected children especially at the early stage, when there were active pulmonary TB adult household contacts. Ventilation and morning sunlight facilitated air circulation, vitality and the body’s immune system towards TB protection.
