Abstract

The purpose of this project is to produce a video lesson that will function as an instructional tool for stage makeup in SMK Negeri 6 Surabaya's class XI. The five steps of the ADDIE development model—analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation—are used in this study's research and development. Expert validation for media elements was 96.88%, material aspects were 96.25%, and language aspects were 95%, according to the study's findings. With an overall average of 96.04%, it falls into the "very suitable" category for educational usage. Additionally, the average value of cognitive learning outcomes was 92.59%, and the students' classical completion rate was 89.44. The psychomotor score, on the other hand, was in the "very good" range with an average of 88.15 and a classical completion percentage of 100%. With 95.3% of pupils responding to the video session, the response rate was deemed "very positive." Thus, it can be said that teaching Balinese dancing stage makeup through video instructional learning materials is quite appropriate and successful. It is expected that this research will serve as a roadmap for the creation of comparable media in the fields of beauty and other occupations. Abstract

The method of conveying information in an interesting and easy-to-understand way is using video tutorials. The level of effectiveness of video tutorials in conveying basic skills of top style bun arrangement as teaching materials in class XI of SMK Negeri 3 Kediri, student learning achievement after using video tutorial media on top style bun material, student responses to the use of video tutorials on learning skills of top style bun material as a learning aid. This study applies a quantitative approach. To collect information, an observation sheet is used to assess the quality of video tutorial media, cognitive and psychomotor tests are applied to evaluate student learning achievement, while questionnaires are used as a means of obtaining the required information. Video tutorials that discuss top style bun arrangement material are suitable media to be used and introduced to students as a learning tool. The average achievement is very satisfactory, with material components of 80%, media 90%, and language 85%. Students from grade XI showed achievement of scores above the KKM standard that has been set at SMK Negeri 3 Kediri, which is set at 75. Their learning achievement on the use of video learning media in top style bun arrangement lessons reached an average of 97 and 100% completion. Student responses to learning media lessons in the form of video tutorials in the learning process showed quite high effectiveness, with an achievement level reaching 83.8%. Abstract

In an increasingly competitive era, students need to be equipped not only with formal education, but also practical skills that can support their independence in the future. One skill that is relevant and has economic value is the ability to produce products that have market prospects, such as soya milk. The purpose of writing this research is to find out how the training process of making soymilk and calculating the selling price, and how the participants respond to the training activities. The methods used were lectures, questions and answers and demonstrations. The results showed 1) the implementation of the training began with the provision of basic materials related to soymilk processing, and then the practice of making soymilk together. Before the training, participants were given a pre-test first. The pre-test provided an overview of the extent of participants' understanding or skills before starting the program. There was an increase in understanding from before and after the training, and 2) in the participants' response to the activities, in general the participants responded well, all indicators were generally in the good and excellent categories. With this training, students are expected to not only be able to produce quality soymilk, but also have the motivation and confidence to try small business opportunities.

Abstract

Fashion today includes not only clothing and accessories but also functional items with futuristic and aesthetic designs that enhance personal appearance. One such element is Nail art, which has evolved into a form of lifestyle and self-expression, especially among young women. Among UNESA Cosmetology students, nail art is increasingly popular and serves as a means of personal identity. This study aims to explore the factors influencing the use of nail art as a Fashion choice among students. A qualitative approach was used through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion, with data validity ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings reveal that nail art is not solely driven by beauty trends, but also functions as a tool for expressing mood, identity, and personal values. The influencing factors are grouped into Fashion behavior, external factors, and internal factors, which are interrelated. Fashion behavior includes brand preferences, product knowledge, personal perception, and convenience—all of which significantly impact purchasing decisions. External factors involve trends, influencers, pricing, and digital media. Internal factors relate to emotions and self-expression through design aesthetics. In conclusion, nail art use among students is shaped by a combination of behavioral, external, and internal influences that reflect both Fashion sense and individuality. Abstract

Putri Jenggolo bridal makeup is a traditional bridal makeup style originating from Sidoarjo. Based on interviews with several makeup artists in Sidoarjo, it was found that public interest in Putri Jenggolo bridal makeup is relatively low compared to traditional bridal makeup styles from other regions. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the selection of Putri Jenggolo bridal makeup among the people of Sidoarjo. The research method used is a mixed method, combining a quantitative approach through questionnaires distributed to 30 brides or prospective brides, and a qualitative approach through interviews with 4 makeup artists from four beauty studios across three sub-districts in Sidoarjo Regency. The variables examined include cultural factors, social factors, and personal factors. Based on the data analysis, the findings show that cultural factors contribute 14% to the selection of bridal makeup, social factors contribute 13%, while personal factors contribute 14%. Most respondents fall into the moderate category in all three factors, indicating potential to increase interest through more intensive education and socialization. The study also found that personal factors have the most dominant influence in the selection of Putri Jenggolo bridal makeup, followed by cultural factors, and lastly social factors. The lack of public knowledge about Putri Jenggolo bridal makeup is identified as the main obstacle. These findings recommend more effective cultural promotion strategies to enhance public recognition and interest in Putri Jenggolo bridal makeup. Abstract

The rapid development of beauty trends has increased the demand for professional workers in the beauty service industry, including hand care. SMKN 1 Buduran, through the Beauty Therapy Expertise Concentration, equips students with relevant skills. This study aims to analyze the influence of internal and external factors on the interest of 11th-grade Beauty Therapy students at SMKN 1 Buduran to become hand care beauty therapists. The research employed a quantitative inferential approach with a population of 35 students. Data were collected through an online Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression to examine both partial and simultaneous effects.The results show that partially, the interest indicator (sig. 0.000) has a significant effect on student interest, while attention (sig. 0.978), experience (sig. 0.942), social environment (sig. 0.310), and educational environment (sig. 0.202) have no significant effect. Simultaneously, the significance value (sig. 0.000) indicates that internal and external factors together have a significant effect on student interest. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.677 demonstrates that 67.7% of the variation in student interest is explained by internal and external factors, while 32.3% is influenced by other factors beyond this study. This study concludes that student interest is strongly affected by internal factors, particularly the interest indicator, while simultaneously both internal and external factors play an important role in shaping students’ interest in pursuing a career as hand care beauty therapists.

Abstract

False eyelashes are an essential part of international bridal eye makeup, especially for brides with narrow or monolid eyes, as they help produce a more open, expressive, and well-balanced appearance. A range of application methods is available, including the stitching and overlock techniques. The choice of method significantly affects the final makeup outcome in terms of aesthetics, comfort, and durability. This study investigates the differences in eye-makeup results for international brides with narrow eyes using stitching and overlock techniques, focusing on smoothness, symmetry, harmony with the overall eye look, accuracy of application, and neatness. Employing an experimental design with a quantitative approach, the research involved 31 respondents. Data were collected through direct observation, written questionnaires, and supporting documentation, then analyzed using mean scores and the Mann–Whitney U test with SPSS 26. The results show that the stitching technique achieved an average score of 3.625 (rated as excellent), while the overlock technique scored 3.510 (also rated as excellent). The Mann–Whitney U analysis produced a non-significant value of 0.265 > 0.05, indicating no statistically significant difference between the two techniques for false eyelash application..Keywords: Sewing Technique, Obras Technique, Slanted eye Make Up
