Abstract

Adapun tujuan pengabdian ini adalah melihat sejauh mana dampak peran mahasiswa dalam program Kampus Mengajar dalam meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi di sekolah sasaran yaitu SD Islam Darussalam. Mengingat begitu pentingnya pembelajaran bagi peserta didik untuk memiliki kemampuan literasi numerasi. Metode yang dilakukan pada pengabdian ini adalah observasi dan wawancara. Observasi dilakukan sebagai awal penugasan di sekolah SD Islam Darussalam. Observasi dilakukan selama kurang dari 1 minggu yaitu pada saat setelah selesai pelepasan langsung melakukan observasi sekolah dengan melihat bagian bagian sudut sekolah. Selama 1 minggu observasi sekolah bertujuan menemukan beberapa hal seperti keadaan sekolah, fasilitas sekolah, jumlah murid dan jumlah guru, serta kegiatan-kegiatan sehari-hari di sekolah. Selain menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara juga dilakukan untuk mencari lebih jelas mengenai informasi tentang sekolah sasaran. Beberapa orang diwawancai untuk mendapatkan informasi antara lain melakukan wawancara kepada kepala sekolah, guru pamong, dan operator sekolah. Wawancara dilakukan untuk mengetahui lebih jauh tentang sekolah SD Islam Darussalam. Beberapa rencana kegiatan dan hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan telah selesai berdasarkan hasil observasi yang ada di sekolah sasaran. Program yang direncanakan sudah berjalan sesuai harapan seperti berkolaborasi dengan guru kelas, diskusi terkait metode pembelajaran yang tidak monoton hanya satu arah, dan menciptakan suasana kelas yang hidup dan menarik dengan menggunakan media inovatif. Peserta didik sebelumnya sebelumnya hanya menggunakan buku paket saja, namun sejak diterapkan adaptasi teknologi peserta didik sudah mulai dikenalkan dengan media pembelajaran berbasis teknogi seperti penggunaan power point. Selain itu, aplikasi canva juga dimanfaatkan untuk membantu pembuatan media pembalajaran seperti pembuatan grafis media sosial, presentasi, poster, dokumen, dan konten visual lainnya.

Abstract

keterbatasan kesadaran mahasiswa tentang optimalisasi penggunaan MLS sebagai media yang dapat menunjang belajar mandiri meskipun telah diterapkan sebagai media belajar komplementer, tetapi belum sepenuhnya efektif. Sehingga hal ini mengurangi potensi maksimal dalam mendukung proses belajar mereka. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran mahasiswa mengenai penggunaan Management Learning System (MLS) dalam mendukung pembelajaran mandiri. Isu yang diangkat adalah rendahnya kesadaran mahasiswa tentang MLS, yang berdampak pada efektivitas pembelajaran daring guna meningkatkan pembelajaran mandiri. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, metode yang digunakan, yaitu sosialisasi; ceramah, diskusi, tanya-jawab, dan demonstrasi langsung. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari tiga tahapan: persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan PkM ini menunjukkan bahwa bahwa (85%) peserta merasa lebih memahami cara menggunakan MLS setelah pelatihan, dan (78%) merasa siap untuk menerapkan MLS dalam pembelajaran mandiri. Selain itu, (90%) peserta menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ini bermanfaat bagi mereka. Kesimpulan kegiatann ini menunjukkan keberhasilan dalam memperkuat pemahaman mahasiswa tentang penggunaan MLS, sekaligus mendukung peningkatan pembelajaran mandiri dalam konteks pembelajaran daring.

Abstract

The aim of community service activities is to provide English language training to students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Program Keagamaan (MAN-PK) MAN 2 Mataram. This learning training uses the Duolinglo Application. This training or course involves 2 classes of class X students totaling 50 participants in September and November 2024 at MAN PK MAN 2 Mataram. Each group was asked to use the Duolingo application to integrate English learning. This application is a gamification application, meaning users can learn English like playing games because this application uses audio-visual methods in learning. The methods used in this training are lecture, discussion and direct practice. The result of this service activity is that there is an increase in participants' skills and knowledge in speaking and writing using the Duolingo application. The results of evaluation and monitoring by applying the average post-test score show that the average post-test score (72.18) is greater than the average pretest score (35.78). The implications of community service activities can increase students' knowledge of English at school by using the Duolingo application.

Abstract

This study aims to describe student perceptions of the task learning process for Vocabulary subjects at Universitas Bumigora This research is a qualitative research with descriptive research type. Primary data sources that are the subject of research are students, as well as secondary data sources obtained from the internet or books. Techniques in data collection is done by observation and mediated interview. The results of the study show that the perceptions of students in the implementation of task-based learning on vocabulary subjects are satisfactory, effective and efficient from the students themselves. This is because task-based learning encourages self-directed rather than teacher-directed learning, encourage students to participate actively, and build intrinsic rather than extrinsic motivation.

Abstract

This research was carried out to investigate students’ anxiety in group discussion of learning modern cultural studies at Universitas Bumigora. It’s used to identify whether factors that may contribute to anxiety in learning of modern cultural studies based on students’ perspectives. The method used in this research is qualitative with case study approach seventeen anxious students were chosen as participants. The data gained by using observation and mediated interview. The result of this research showed that speaking or expressed opinion by using English via audio or camera of video on, incomprehensible input, lack of reading, students’ beliefs of learning modern cultural studies, and lack of preparation were the five factors that are able to contribute to the students’ anxiety in discussion activity of learning modern cultural studies

Abstract

This article explains how project-based learning is being implemented (digital storytelling) to help students in the First Semester in Bumigora University in Mataram at become more proficient speakers. The aims of this research are to find out whether Project-Based Learning (digital storytelling) can improve students’ speaking skill and to analyze the students’ learning motivation when is implemented. A test, questionnaire, interview, and observation were used to gather the data. The researchers used action research and random sampling technique. The method used mix method, quantitative and qualitative. The steps in this design are Planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The study's conclusions showed that students' speaking abilities had improved in a number of areas, including confidence, fluency, pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. A range of speaking exercises, such as oral presentations, voice recordings, group discussions, and interviews, helped to strengthen those areas. Moreover, the mean gain of the students’ post-test was higher than the mean gain of the students’ pre-test. In the pre-test, the mean gain was 56.37; however, the students could achieve 74.05 in the post-test. In addition, students’ learning motivation increased in terms of: students involve in learning process, students solve the problem and search the issue, students try to work harder to avoid the failure. A demanding multimedia-based project in which students generated digital stories might give meaningful experience and increase improvement students’ spoken ability.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to enhance English language proficiency, with a particular emphasis on vocabulary, through the utilization of the Duolingo application. This application is a gamification application, which means that users can learn English using visual and auditory methods, much like playing a game. This quantitative research method employs a pre-experimental design, which includes a pre-test and post-test for a single group. The objective is to determine the effect of the application of Duolingo applications as a means of enhancing the vocabulary knowledge of students in class VII at SMPN 19 Mataram. The investigation included a total of 150 students in classes VII A to E, with each class consisting of students. The sample was class A, which was composed of 30 students who were randomly selected through randomization. The research data is collected by administering a pre-test and post-test to assess the learning results of vocabulary subjects. Normality tests, descriptive statistics, and T tests are employed in data analysis. The study's findings indicated that the average post-test score (70, 18) was higher than the pre-test average score. (30,78). The standard level of significance of 0.05 is used to determine whether the zero hypothesis can be rejected by contrasting the p-value. The p-value is less than 0.05, with a value of 0.000. This implies that the zero hypothesis is unfeasible, and it is inferred that the Duolingo Application is effective in enhancing student vocabulary knowledge. This is attributed to the presence of supportive elements, such as the analysis of initial skills, the attraction of student attention or motivation, and the improvement of English scores.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan keaktifan belajar peserta didik kelas VI SDN 97/IV Kota Jambi dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media SmartBox. Penelitian menerapkan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan dengan cara wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen, dengan indikator keaktifan mencakup partisipasi peserta didik dalam tugas, diskusi, serta penyelesaian masalah. Penelitian menunjukan hasil bahwa implementasi PBL berbantuan SmartBox efektif dalam meningkatkan keaktifan belajar. Pada pra-siklus, keaktifan peserta didik hanya mencapai 32%, sedangkan pada siklus kedua pertemuan kedua meningkat menjadi 84%. Kombinasi PBL dan SmartBox menciptakan pembelajaran interaktif dan efektif yang mendorong peserta didik lebih aktif, kreatif, dan terlibat dalam proses belajar. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa PBL berbantuan SmartBox merupakan pendekatan yang relevan untuk meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar peserta didik, khususnya pada mata pelajaran IPAS.

Abstract

This study examines the flouting of Grice’s cooperative maxims, specifically Quantity, Relevance, Quality, and Manner in the 2024 presidential debates of Indonesia and the United States. The objective is to identify the types of maxim flouting committed by candidates and to compare pragmatic communication strategies across these two distinct political cultures. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using transcripts from YouTube videos of the presidential debates in Indonesia and the U.S. Data collection involved observation, transcription, and documentation, while data analysis focused on classifying and presenting instances of maxim flouting. The analysis centers on how candidates strategically flout these maxims to achieve rhetorical goals within formal debate settings. The findings revealed a total of 20 instances of maxim flouting, with the Maxim of Quantity and the Relevance being the most frequently flouted. This flouting serves to control the narrative, divert difficult questions, and strengthen the political image. Donald Trump flouted the most maxims (7 instances), followed by Prabowo Subianto (5), Kamala Harris and Ganjar Pranowo (4 each), while Anies Baswedan did not flout any maxims. The communication style of U.S. candidates tends to be more expansive and confrontational, whereas Indonesian candidates tend to be more structured and concise.
