Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well marriage counseling employs group dynamics and desensitization techniques to lessen prospective brides' and grooms' anxiety. An ABA design is used in this single-subject study. Four people participated in this study: two prospective brides and two prospective grooms. Descriptive analysis is added to visual analysis, also known as visual inspection, in data analysis. The study's findings demonstrate that systematic desensitization techniques combined with relaxation therapy can effectively lower prospective brides' and grooms' anxiety levels. The outcomes both before and after treatment demonstrate this. Counselors and other caregivers may utilize this method as an alternative to help prospective brides and grooms feel less anxious. Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of integrating the Iceberg Analysis and the U-Process as a pedagogical framework to promote religious moderation in a multifaith Indonesian secondary school. Given the rising concern over religious intolerance and youth vulnerability to radical ideologies in pluralistic societies, the study addresses the urgent need for reflective and participatory learning approaches that can transform attitudes and behaviours. Employing a mixed-methods design, the research involved 100 students of different religious and ethnic backgrounds at SMA Negeri 1 Barus Jahe, North Sumatra. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, questionnaires, classroom observations, and student reflections. Thematic and statistical analyses revealed significant improvements in students’ understanding, awareness, and enactment of religious moderation values, with average cognitive scores increasing from 55 to 81.5 and behavioural awareness from 48.75 to 78.25. These findings suggest that integrating the Iceberg Analysis and U-Process facilitates cognitive development and deep emotional and ethical internalisation of interfaith values. The study contributes to religious education by proposing a culturally contextualised and empirically validated model that bridges conceptual understanding and real-world practice. Its originality lies in synthesising two transformative learning approaches into a unified pedagogical strategy tailored for pluralistic and multicultural settings, with practical implications for curriculum design, teacher training, and interfaith peacebuilding.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the teaching strategies implemented by Catholic Religious Education (CRE) teachers in developing 21st-century skills, namely Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication (4Cs), at SMAS Katolik Tri Sakti Medan. Using a qualitative approach and descriptive method, this research analyzes how teachers apply teaching methods that encourage active student participation through group discussions, case study-based projects, and the use of visual media. The findings show that the application of teaching strategies based on Piaget’s constructivist theory and Mayer’s multimodal theory successfully creates a dynamic and interactive learning environment. Teachers provide space for students to ask questions, engage in discussions, and critically analyze the material, which supports the development of 4Cs skills. Students’ critical thinking, communication, creativity, and collaboration skills significantly improved through project-based and collaborative learning. Overall, these findings emphasize the importance of innovative and varied teaching approaches in preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century, while maintaining the moral and spiritual values in religious education.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the learning quality of Catholic Religious Education Phase C Grade V students through the Behavioral learning model at SDN 064977 Medan Tembung. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) with two cycles. The research subjects consisted of six fifth-grade students evaluated based on learning enthusiasm, creativity, and academic skills, which include cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Data were collected through observation, and evaluation tests. The results showed that before implementing the Behavioral model, the learning mastery rate was only 33%. After implementation in Cycle I, mastery increased to 83%, and in Cycle II, it reached 100%. The Behavioral learning model, which focuses on stimulus provision, student responses, reinforcement, behavior shaping, and evaluation and generalization, proved effective in enhancing learning quality. Thus, this model can be recommended as a strategy to improve student motivation and learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara peserta didik Fase E kelas X dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Katolik dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran advokasi yang dipadukan dengan teknik card sort di SMA Deli Murni Delitua Medan. Aspek keterampilan berbicara yang menjadi fokus meliputi artikulasi, penyusunan kalimat, keberanian dalam berbicara, kelancaran, serta ekspresi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus mencakup tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, serta refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi langsung, tes keterampilan berbicara, serta dokumentasi kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil pengamatan membuktikan bahwa terjadi peningkatan yang cukup substansial setelah penerapan tindakan dalam keterampilan berbicara peserta didik dari pra tindakan hingga siklus II. Sebelum pelaksanaan tindakan, rata-rata capaian keterampilan berbicara berada pada angka 61%, kemudian meningkat menjadi 83% pada siklus I, dan mencapai 89% pada siklus II. Peningkatan ini didorong oleh partisipasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran berbasis advokasi serta keberhasilan teknik Card sort dalam memfasilitasi siswa. Dengan demikian, penerapan model pembelajaran advokasi berbantuan Card sort terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara peserta didik.

Abstract

Pesatnya lonjakan teknologi digital dan ditambah dengan konektivitas internet telah menjadi pembelajaran bagi lingkungan dan memberikan peluang luar biasa pada pendekatan pembelajaran di abad ke-21. Sedangkan digitalisasi sangatlah penting dimasukkan ke dalam pengajaran, sehingga ketersediaan fasilitas harus cukup dan guru harus siap dengan keterampilan yang memadai. Sejalan dengan faktra tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun persepsi guru tentang keefektifan pembelajaran online selama pandemi COVID-19. Studi ini juga mengeksplorasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi dan yang mendasari pembelajaran online yang efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain survei deskriptif; dengan target populasi 150 guru dan sampel diambil secara acak. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner survei sebagai instrumen utama pengumpulan data. Analisis data mengandalkan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial, dengan data yang disajikan menggunakan tabel. Hasil studi ditemukan guru memiliki persepsi positif tentang pengajaran online meskipun banyak tantangan yang menghalangi keefektifannya. Rekomendasi tersebut menyarankan pengarusutamaan pembelajaran online ke dalam kurikulum pendidikan.

Abstract

One of the goals of teacher supervision is to improve skills and competencies in classroom learning. So that the purpose of this study is to find out how to improve the basic skills of teaching productive teachers of  Vocational High School Arina through the application of scientific  model supervision with a directive approach. The subjects of this study were 5 (five) productive teachers. The research design used was school action research which was carried out in two cycles. The results showed an increase in each skill from cycle I with an average value of 71 with a sufficient value category to an average score of 87 in the second cycle with a good score category. Thus this action research shows that the application of scientific model supervision with a directive approach can improve the basic skills of teaching productive teachers at Vocational High School Arina Sidikalang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Mind Mapping learning model through brainstorming techniques in enhancing students' reasoning skills in Catholic Religious Education learning for Grade XI Phase F. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles. The research subjects were Grade XI students in a senior high school. Data were collected through observations, tests, and interviews, then analyzed descriptively using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results indicate an improvement in students' reasoning skills from the pre-action phase to Cycle II. Before the intervention, the average mastery level was only 66%, increasing to 79% in Cycle I and reaching 87% in Cycle II. The most significant improvements were observed in students' abilities to identify, classify, draw conclusions, present evidence, and provide comprehensive statements. Thus, the Mind Mapping learning model through brainstorming techniques effectively enhances students' reasoning skills. The implications of this study suggest that interactive learning strategies can improve students' understanding and active participation in learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of learning resources in supporting the effectiveness of teaching and learning motivation, particularly in Catholic Religious Education (PAK) subjects that require an understanding of spiritual values. The focus of this research is to analyze the availability of PAK learning resources at Budi Murni 2 Medan Private Catholic Elementary School and describe its influence on student learning motivation. As a crucial step, this research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data is collected through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation. The main findings indicate that the availability of learning resources at the school is adequate and diverse, including textbooks, Bibles, liturgical props, and digital devices such as projectors. The use of these varied resources has been proven to contribute significantly to increasing student learning motivation, which is characterized by enthusiasm, active participation in discussions, and high interest during the learning process. In conclusion, there is a strong positive relationship between the availability of adequate learning resources and student learning motivation in PAK lessons, where the use of interactive media is a key factor.. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya peran sarana pembelajaran dalam menunjang efektivitas pengajaran dan motivasi belajar, khususnya pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Katolik (PAK) yang menuntut pemahaman nilai-nilai spiritual. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis ketersediaan sarana pembelajaran PAK di SD Swasta Katolik Budi Murni 2 Medan dan mendeskripsikan pengaruhnya terhadap motivasi belajar peserta didik. Sebagai langkah penting, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan guru dan siswa, serta dokumentasi. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa ketersediaan sarana pembelajaran di sekolah tersebut tergolong memadai dan beragam, mencakup buku teks, Alkitab, alat peraga liturgis, hingga perangkat digital seperti proyektor. Penggunaan sarana yang variatif ini terbukti berkontribusi secara signifikan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, yang ditandai dengan antusiasme, partisipasi aktif dalam diskusi, dan minat yang tinggi selama proses pembelajaran. Kesimpulannya, terdapat hubungan positif yang kuat antara ketersediaan sarana pembelajaran yang memadai dengan motivasi belajar siswa dalam pelajaran PAK, di mana pemanfaatan media yang interaktif menjadi faktor kunci.
