Abstract

DAS Welang dengan luasan 522.89 hektar melewati wilayah administrasi Kabupaten Malang, Kabupaten Pasuruan dan Kota Pasuruan. Sejak terjadinya banjir pada tahun 2013 akibat meluapnya sungai Welang bagian hulu, DAS Welang dimasukkan ke dalam DAS kritis dan prioritas . Faktor penyebab banjir ialah meningkatnya penduduk di area bantaran sungai Welang dan eksploitasi sumber daya alam seperti pembalakan hutan yang berakibat tanah rentan terhadap erosi dan longsor sehingga berdampak pada bagian hilir. Pendugaan besarnya nilai erosi dibutuhkan dalam upaya menekan luasan tanah ter erosi.. Beberapa langkah yang dapat dilakukan adalah pendugaan erosi dengan menggunakan model perhitungan Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). Penelitian ini dilakukan di 5 satuan penggunan lahan yaitu sawah irigasi, tegalan, hutan, sawah tadah hujan, dan kebun campuran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan lahan pada wilayah tengah DAS Welang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai pendugaan erosi di daerah wilayah tengah DAS Welang memiliki nilai terkecil sebesar 0.03 ton/ha/thn pada penggunaan lahan tegalan Purwodadi dan nilai terbesar sebesar 41.97 ton/ha/thn pada penggunaan lahan Kebun Campuran Purwosari. Nilai TBE dominan sangat ringan dan ringan dengan Indeks Erosi rendah.Key words : Erosi, USLE, DAS, DAS Welang

Abstract

Welang watershed is a watershed located in Pasuruan Regency. Welang watershed has 522.89 km2. Changes that occur in the soil due to uncontrolled use can reduce soil productivity and reduce the main function of the soil. The factor causing soil damage is the increase in population in an area that is not following its function. The measurement of the standard criteria for soil damage refers to the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment No. 07 of 2006. This study aims to assess the status of land use against soil damage. The results showed that the Welang watershed in the central region of Pasuruan Regency had a damaged status, namely lightly damaged (R.I). Redox as a limiting factor in each different land use, namely irrigated rice fields, rainfed rice fields, mixed gardens, dry fields, and forests) in Purwosari and Purwodadi sub-districts. Efforts were made to improve the damage status with redox limiting factors with the addition of organics. The addition of materials is carried out by periodic fertilization for physical, chemical, and biological improvement of the soil.Key words: Damage, Welang Watershed, Land

Abstract

Berdasarkan masalah yang ada dalam air sungai, maka analisis kualitas air pada Sub DAS Kali Jagir ditelaah sesuai pedoman yang tercantum dalam Keputusan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup No. 22 Tahun 2021 tentang Penyelenggaraan Perlindungan dan Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup, metode survei dan Indeks Pencemaran (IP) yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji kualitas air pada Sub DAS Kali Jagir Kota Surabaya ditinjau dari penggunaan lahan sekitar sungai serta tingkat potensi pencemaran yang ada pada aliran sungai wilayah Sub DAS Jagir, Surabaya. Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah: pH, nitrat, fosfat, BOD, COD, DHL, TDS, dan DO. Hasil indeks pencemaran dan pengharkatan disetiap parameter, kualitas air Sub DAS Jagir yang diukur dari sungai jagir kecamatan wonokromo (Hulu) menuju muara Sub DAS Jagir yang berada di Sungai Avuur (Hilir) mengalami peningkatan di segmen tengah dan penurunan di penggunaan lahan tambak dan Mangrove serta mengalami peningkatan kembali di Muara Sungai. Sungai jagir yang merupakan inlet mempunyai kualitas air yang baik berdasarkan baku mutu air kelas IV. Hasil analisa menunjukkan nilai yang masih diambang baku mutu kelas III dan Kelas IV. Penurunan kualitas air pada segmen tengah yaitu pada penggunaan lahan Pemukiman dan tegalan disebabkan oleh banyaknya limbah pertanian akibat perubahan lahan sawah irigasi menjadi tegalan dan adanya limbah rumah tangga yang dibuang ke sungai. Akibatnya nilai BOD dan COD pada lahan tersebut meningkat. Hal tersebut berpengaruh pada nilai DO yang rendah. Jumlah oksigen terlarut berkurang karena proses dekomposisi yang diindikasikan oleh tingginya nilai BOD dan COD.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate land suitability for enhancing the production of key crop commodities in Ngancar District, Kediri Regency, particularly pineapple, coffee, and mango. The district has high soil fertility potential due to its location at the foot of Mount Kelud. The research methods include land surveys, soil sampling at depths of 0-30 cm and 30-60 cm, and laboratory analysis to measure soil physical and chemical properties. Results indicate that the land in the study area generally falls into the marginal suitability class (S3), with the main limiting factors being soil texture dominated by sandy loam, low K₂O levels, and high rainfall that affects pineapple growth. Slope gradient is also a limiting factor for coffee and mango cultivation. Adjustments in soil management, such as timely fertilization and planting crops with strong root systems, can improve the land's suitability potential. In conclusion, although the land in Ngancar District has certain limitations, optimizing land use can enhance the productivity of key commodities, particularly through improved soil management and appropriate fertilizer use. Keywords: Crop commodities, Land Assessment, Land Degradation, Mount Kelud.

Abstract

Sub-watersheds are formed from the interaction process of soil-forming factors such as geology, topography, and organisms. Each interaction process results in different characteristics of soil physical properties. Physical characteristics can serve as the main reference in planning, implementing, and evaluating appropriate management of Sub watershed Areas. The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of soil physical properties in the Manten Sub-watershed. This research uses an exploratory approach with a field survey approach through 3 stages of activities, namely pre-survey, survey, and post survey. Each land use was repeated five times to represent the area of each land use. The parameters observed include texture, bulk density, particle density, permeability, and porosity. The results show that the physical properties of the soil in the Catchment area of the Manten Sub-watershed, Malang Regency, are very different in each land unit. Soil texture is dominated by the loam class (T1, T4, T5, S1, S2, S3, K3, and K4). Based on the research results of soil physical properties in the catchment area of the Manten sub watershed, moorland use has better soil physical properties than dry field and paddy field land uses. The poor soil physical properties in dry field and paddy field land uses may be caused by excessive land cultivation and low soil organic matter content. Keywords: Catchment area, Land use unit, Soil physical, Sub-Watershed.

Abstract

Soil color is the important due to its relation with other soil properties. It is usually analysis with the standard Munsell Soil Color Charts (MSCC). While other properties including organic matter need to be analyzed in the laboratory. The objective of this study is to develop IoT sensor for soil that is able to detect rapidly soil color and other properties including C-organic, pH, and cation exchange capacity (CEC). Soil color data from five soil type was analyzed using the MSCC and used as input data to the IoT (internet of things) sensor. In addition, soil properties obtained from lab tests was also included. The designed IoT sensor was used to detect soil color and soil properties of 7 soil types used as the testing samples. The sensor performance was evaluated by comparing soil properties predicted using IoT and lab analysis. Results showed the use of IoT soil sensor succeeded in determining soil characteristics including pH, CEC, and C-organic based on soil color. In addition, the soil color sensor had high accuracy to predict soil properties with a very small difference compared to the lab analysis, namely 0.01% difference for C-organic, and other properties of <5% difference. The development of IoT soil sensor will be important in the fields of agriculture and land management. Keywords: Acidity (pH), CEC, C-Organic, IoT, Soil Color.

Abstract

Kebutuhan mendesak yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat tani Desa Wonoploso, Kecamatan Gondang, Kabupaten Mojokerto adalah ketersediaan pupuk padahal pupuk organik diperlukan untuk membantu pemulihan kesuburan tanah. Tim Abdimas UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur berupaya merekayasa sosial masyarakat dengan langkah menginisiasi pembuatan nutrisi organik yang bertujuan untuk menambah unsur hara yang dibutuhkan oleh tanaman untuk memacu pertumbuhan tanaman secara optimal, terutama pada penanaman sistem intensif sekaligus tindakan pengelolaan limbah pertanian dan peningkatan perekonomian masyarakat Desa Wonoploso, Kecamatan Gondang, Kabupaten Mojokerto. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan, dapat diketahui bahwa pelatihan yang diikuti oleh sebagian besar anggota kelompok tani dapat berjalan sesuai dengan harapan dan target yang ditetapkan, yaitu peserta mampu mempraktikkan pembuatan nutrisi organik cair dari proses penyiapan bahan, proses pembuatan, dan pengemasan. Selain itu, dapat diketahui penerimaan usaha sebesar Rp626.500. Dengan demikian, pembuatan nutrisi organik cair memiliki potensi ekonomi yang menguntungkan bagi petani maupun masyarakat di sekitar lokasi pengabdian masyarakat.

Abstract

Waste is the residual result of daily human activity that is no longer wanted and that needs to go through a good treatment process so that it does not cause problems for the environment. The increase in waste generation is due to the high consumption of people and the increase in population growth. The increase in the amount of waste generation will certainly lead to an increase in the amount of waste entering the final processing site or landfill and will affect the life of the landfill itself. Therefore, the construction of the TPST is a solution to reduce the amount of waste going to the landfill and increase the amount of integrated waste processing in Ngawi Regency. This study aims to analyse the waste processing process at TPST Selopuro, Ngawi Regency and to see the results of the waste processing process at TPST Selopuro and the waste processing methods applied at TPST Selopuro. The data collection method includes primary and secondary data, and the results include data on incoming waste generation and data on the results of the waste processing process at the integrated waste management site.

Abstract

Wonosalam, Kabupaten Jombang, Jawa Timur, memiliki potensi agrikultur tinggi berkat ekosistem yang beragam, topografi variatif, iklim sejuk, dan jenis tanah yang mendukung. Namun, potensi ini belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan diperlukan untuk mengembangkan komoditas strategis seperti tebu, matoa, vanili, dan jagung, yang memiliki prospek pasar menjanjikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat kesesuaian lahan di Kecamatan Wonosalam, Kabupaten Jombang, untuk empat komoditas utama, yaitu tebu, matoa, vanili, dan jagung. Metode penelitian mencakup survei lapangan, pengambilan sampel tanah, analisis laboratorium, dan evaluasi menggunakan pendekatan sistem informasi geografis (SIG). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lahan di wilayah ini diklasifikasikan ke dalam kategori cukup sesuai (S2) dan sesuai marginal (S3), tergantung pada komoditas dan parameter lahan yang dianalisis. Faktor pembatas utama meliputi curah hujan, kandungan K2O yang rendah, pH tanah, N-total, drainase, dan kemiringan lereng. Beberapa kendala tersebut dapat diatasi melalui pemberian pupuk yang tepat dan penerapan teknik konservasi tanah seperti terasering atau agroforestri. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi ilmiah untuk pengelolaan lahan secara optimal, dengan memperhatikan efisiensi sumber daya dan keberlanjutan lingkungan. Hasil evaluasi diharapkan menjadi acuan bagi pengambil kebijakan, petani, dan pihak terkait dalam mengembangkan sektor agrikultur berbasis potensi lokal di Wonosalam. Pendekatan ini juga dapat diterapkan di wilayah lain dengan karakteristik lahan serupa untuk mendukung pertanian yang produktif.

Abstract

Degraded land affects almost all ecosystems and can harm the progress and quality of human life, so it needs attention. Saline soil is a land degradation with high salt content that causes toxic effects, increases root osmotic pressure, and inhibits plant growth. One solution is using organic mulch processed into biogeotextiles because it can provide solutions for erosion control and soil stabilization while minimizing negative impacts on the ecosystem. This research was conducted from May to August 2023 in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture UPN ‘Veteran’ East Java. This study used a group randomized design with one factor,  the type of geotextile material consisting of reed grass (RG), straw (ST), pandanus odorifer (PO), and sugarcane bagasse (SB). This research was conducted with a litterbox of 20x20 cm filled with 100 g of biogeotextile material. The results obtained show that pandanus odorifer biogeotextile material is the best biogeotextile material because it can last a long time on the soil surface, but can still be adequately mineralized, according to the results obtained, reducing the C/N ratio and C-Organic but increasing total nitrogen. Decomposition is closely related to the materials’ quality rather than external factors. The quality of the material, namely lignin, organic carbon, C/N ratio, and nitrogen, influences the decomposition process. Furthermore, this technology can be applied to improve soil productivity and to keep soil healthy.
