Abstract

PT. Tjakrindo Mas, established in 1984, is a manufacture company in building material and office equipment, whose products are office furniture, office equipment, steel doors, PVC pipes, concrete pile, and wooden furniture. This company is ISO 9002 certified. The increasing number of office development in Surabaya has created good opportunity that is going to be seized by PT. Tjakrindo Mas. However, PT. Tjakrindo Mas is not the only company who sees the opportunity. Other companies also see the opportunity to increase sales. In this case, in order to compete with other companies and increase sales, a reasearch to formulate an appropriate strategy is required, it is necessary to have an adequate technology in production to be able to fulfil the demand of consumers in a short time and reduce the defective products to minimize the company’s loss. Information technology is also required in order to make it easier for the consumers to contract PT. Tjakrindo Mas or to order office equipment products. In collecting the data required by PT. Tjakrindo Mas, questionnaires were distributed, and analyzed using SPSS. From the SPSS test, it can be concluded that there was a difference between the data of the consumer’s reality level and consumers’s expectation level. SPSS, a SWOT, 4P strategy, and consumer’s behavior anlysis was also conducted to build a marketing strategy. Based on the data analysis, it is acknowledged that the criteria of product, price, process, brand element should be improved or should formulate new strategies. Marketing strategy design was also devided based on the criteria for the product category by suggesting plastic cabinet as a new innovation of PT. Tjakrindo Mas, creating the “SHINE” brand, providing a room for the consumers to see or take their own product, using wooden packaging in order to avoid defect. For the price category, a bundle price product was given for consumers who purchased products in high quatity. For the process category, an outsource fleet service was chosen so that the shipping could be on time, and information system was improved in the company to avoid out of stock. For the brand element categoty, a salesman is required to give the contact numbers to the distributors, give suggestions in symbol and brochure to give easier information to the consumers. Conducting a brand element analysis was also conducted because “SHINE” product is considered new. The purpose is to introduce the product to the consumers. It is also formulated based on the result of the questionnaire in order to archive a good and relevant result.

Abstract

This study discusses the activity of Manual Material Handling (MMH) to workers in the painting division to support the movement of goods. MMH activity has an increased risk of Musculosceletal Disorders (MSDs). To conduct a working attitude analysis, the Ovako Working Analysis System (OWAS) method is used by conducting initial observation and taking photos/videos when the worker performs the MMH activity. Then interviewed 5 workers in the painting division using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire to find out the level of pain complaints felt by workers. Furthermore, the calculation of productivity to find out the standard output by collecting data processing time of MMH activity from the painting division. Data retrieval, data processing and analysis results done before and after implementation. Implementation is done is the addition of tools such as hanging rails and pulleys that can ease the activity of MMH and improve work productivity in the painting division. Based on the data processing and analysis results that have been done, the number of MMH activity done by the worker decreased from 6 activities to 5 activities, the level of the sickness that was felt by the workers was down from 2.86% to 1.20%. This makes the standard output increase from 0.270 to 0.593. The number of work productivity increased from 21,096 to 77,034 with value of productivity index ratio is 0,274. This shows that there is a significant increase in productivity.

Abstract

Abstrak - Kompleksnya kebutuhan era sekarang menjadikan para pelaku industri harus bersaing lebih kompetitif agar dapat sustain dalam persaingan yang ketat. Dengan melakukan identifikasi atribut layanan melalui metode SERVQUAL, maka dapat diketahui apa yang menjadi kelebihan dan kekurangan perusahaan. Selanjutnya, Kano model memberikan kategori bagi tiap atribut layanan untuk mengetahui dampak dari atribut layanan tersebut. Lebih lanjut, pengintegrasian metode Kansei engineering diterapkan untuk mengetahui atribut layanan yang berpengaruh terhadap kesan emosional pelanggan. Di sisi lain, penilaian menggunakan skala likert membatasi penilaian terhadap atribut layanan karena human thinking selalu akan memberikan penilaian relatif, oleh karena itu penerapan fuzzification pada metode SERVQUAL dan Kansei diharapkan dapat memberikan penilaian yang mendekati dengan human thinking serta memberikan tradeoff lain terhadap penelitian. Setelah seluruh atribut layanan dan Kansei Words diolah, diintegrasikan, serta dianalisis untuk menemukan prioritas perbaikan, maka selanjutnya dianalisis dengan House of Quality untuk menemukan prioritas design requirements terhadap atribut layanan yang perlu diperbaiki. Komparasi pada penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan prioritas perbaikan pada metode konvensional dan metode yang melalui proses fuzzification, selain itu komparasi prioritas perbaikan antara penerapan fuzzy dengan large sample size dan small sample size juga tidak terdapat perbedaan, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan fuzzy memberikan tradeoff, yaitu penghematan pengumpulan sample. Kata kunci: theme park, servqual, kano, kansei engineering, fuzzification Abstract - The complexity of the currently needs made industries have to increase competitiveness in order to sustain in the highly competitive era. By identifying the service attributes through the SERVQUAL method, then it could be used for telling what are the advantages and disadvantages of the company. Furthermore, the Kano model provides a category for each service attribute to determine the effect of these service attributes. Also, integrating the Kansei engineering method is applied to determine the service attributes that influence the customer's impression. On the other hand, the using of likert scale is limiting the assessment of the service attributes, that’s because of human thinking will always give a relative assessment, therefore, applying fuzzy into SERVQUAL and Kansei method is expected to provide an assessment that closer to human thinking and gives another tradeoff for the research. After all service attributes and Kansei Words are processed, integrated, and analyzed in order to find prioritised attributes to be improved, then they are analyzed using House of Quality to find prioritised design requirements for the service attributes that need to be improved. Thus, method comparison in this research found that there was no different of the prioritised attributes between the conventional method and the method through the fuzzification process. Nevertheless, the comparison of the prioritised attributes between applied fuzzy with the large sample sizes and small sample sizes was also show the same, it tells an evidence that applying fuzzy could give a tradeoff which cuts sample sizes necessity. Abstract

Abstrak – PT. Dempo Laser Metalindo adalah sebuah perusahaan job shop dan fabrikasi di bidang sheet-metal yang telah berdiri sejak tahun 2003. Saat ini, standar dan instruksi yang diberikan oleh perusahaan kepada karyawan produksi belum cukup memadai untuk menghindari terjadinya kecelakaan kerja. Selain itu, karyawan produksi belum memiliki wawasan yang cukup akan bahaya yang dapat dialami selama menggunakan mesin-mesin tersebut. Adanya kesadaran perusahaan untuk menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang zero accident membuat perusahaan berkeinginan untuk menerapkan standar ISO 4500:2018 dengan mempertimbangkan Kansei Engineering dalam Sistem Manajemen Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3). Berdasarkan identifikasi dan analisis gap, didapatkan hasil bahwa besarnya persentase kesesuaian perusahaan secara keseluruhan adalah 47,14%. Total rancangan perbaikan yang diberikan untuk meningkatkan persentase kesesuaian perusahaan dengan persyaratan ISO 45001:2018 adalah sebanyak 32 rancangan perbaikan. Dari keseluruhan rancangan perbaikan yang diberikan, implementasi yang dapat dilakukan oleh perusahaan saat ini hanya sebanyak 10 rancangan perbaikan. Dempo Laser Metalindo is a job shop and fabrication company in sheet-metal sector that has been established since 2003. The recent standard and instruction from the company to production employees are not sufficient enough to prevent work accident. Furthermore, production employees don’t have enough knowledge about dangerous things that can be felt while using the machines. The company’s need to create a zero accident work environment urges the company to apply the ISO 45001: 2018 standard by considering Kansei Engineering in its OHS management system. Based on gap analysis, the percentage of conformity between OHS in company and ISO 45001:2018 is 47.14%. There were 32 improvement plans in order to increase this comformity level. From all of the improvement plans given, there are only 10 improvement plans that can be implement by the company. Abstract

WMSD frequently occurs in agriculture works, because the working conditions that require awkward posture in standing or sitting position as well as lifting and carrying heavy loads. Preliminary study showed that oyster mushroom farmers experienced pain in several of body parts especially their waist.  Therefore, this paper aims to evaluate the working posture of oyster mushroom farmers using AWBA (Agriculture Whole Body Assessment) and provide recommendation to reduce risk of musculoskeletal disorder. AWBA evaluates working posture and duration of upper (AULA) and lower extremities (ALLA). The result showed that activity of oyster mushroom production was risky, since 46,7% of all activities were categorized as “very high” and “high” level. Skor of AWBA posture correlated significantly with ALLA (0.812) and and AULA (0,56). Regression analysis showed that AWBA positively correlated with AULA and ALLA. Duration analysis showed that 86,7% working duration were classified as “very high”. The riskiest activity was harvested mushroom from top shelf. Furthermore, distribution and mixing raw materials, taking out baglog from sterilizer, harvesting mushroom from middle shelf, and packaging mushroom into plastic bag also risky activities, since the duration and posture measurement were classified as very high and high, respectively. Recommendation for reducing WMSD were redesigning working area and facilities of oyster mushroom production, such as design ergonomics baglogs’ shelves so that farmers position when reached the baglog was neutral, utilizing table and chair with suitable height in filling media into baglog, inoculation, releasing baglogs’ ring, and packaging activities.

Abstract

A preliminary survey showed that oyster mushroom farmers in Lempake Samarinda experienced pain in several body segments, especially at their waist. It may be attributable to the working condition that requires non-ergonomic postures such as frequent awkward posture in sitting or standing position. Therefore, this paper aims to assess the working posture in oyster mushroom farmers. Ovako Working Posture Analysis System (OWAS) method was applied to measure the risk level of farmers' working posture. A total of ten activities were observed from the oyster mushroom cultivations' process in four cultivations in Lempake, Samarinda, Indonesia. Each activity was assessed using the OWAS category based on the position of the back, arms, legs, and load. The result showed that 10% of farmers' working posture was classified in the 4th risk level category, categorized as highly dangerous for the musculoskeletal system, so direct improvement was needed. Furthermore, 10% of working postures were classified in the 3rd risk level category, and 60% of working posture was in the 2nd risk level category, which is categorized as dangerous for the musculoskeletal system and could cause significant tension so that improvement in the future as needed. On the other hand, 20% of working posture was classified in the 1st category which was safe for the musculoskeletal system

Abstract

Abstract: Currently, many lecturer positions have been filled by millennials, even in 2025, the number of millennial workers will reach 75%, which means three out of four workers are millennials (Brant, 2019). Previous studies have shown that there are differences in the work values of the millennial and previous generations. This difference in work values will make millennial workers likely to avoid organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), even though OCB is a significant indicator of organizational performance (Podsakoff and Mackenzie, 1997). This study aims to examine the effect of transformational leadership on OCB through work engagement on millennial lecturers. This research is a quantitative research, involving 126 millennial lecturers in Indonesia as research subjects. Data collection was carried out with the help of an electronic device and used the OCB scale, Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) and the transformational leadership scale. The results of this study indicate that work engagement significantly mediates the effect of transformational leadership on millennial lecturers' OCB. Leadership does not have a direct influence on OCB, but transformational leadership can influence OCB through work engagement. Abstrak: Saat ini posisi dosen sudah banyak yang diisi oleh milenial, bahkan pada tahun 2025, jumlah pekerja milenial akan mencapai 75%, yang berarti tiga dari empat pekerja adalah milenial (Brant, 2019). Studi terdahulu menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai-nilai kerja generasi milenial dan generasi sebelumnya. Perbedaan nilai kerja ini, akan membuat pekerja milenial mungkin akan menghindar dari organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), padahal OCB adalah indikator signifikan kinerja organisasi (Podsakoff dan Mackenzie, 1997). Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional pada OCB melalui work engagement pada dosen milenial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif, melibatkan 126 dosen milenial di Indonesia sebagai subjek penelitian. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan bantuan alat elektronik dan menggunakan skala OCB, Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) dan skala kepemimpinan transformasional. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa work engagement memediasi secara signifikan pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional pada OCB dosen milenial. Kepemimpinan tidak memiliki pengaruh langsung pada OCB, namun kepemimpinan transformasional dapat mempengaruhi OCB melalui work engagement.

Abstract

Iklan dapat dipromosikan dengan menggunakan media poster dan tayangan televisi pada acara olahraga. Namun demikian, belum ada penelitian yang mengukur tingkat efektivitasnya secara khusus pada level atensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur tingkat atensi dalam penempatan iklan yang berbeda pada olahraga sepak bola dan MotoGP. Penempatan iklan pada poster dibagi menjadi dua yaitu inner dan outer area. Sedangkan penempatan iklan pada video dibagi menjadi tiga penempatan, yaitu penempatan di atas, di bawah, dan penempatan penuh. Delapan instrumen digunakan dalam penelitian ini yang terdiri dari delapan poster dan empat video. Indikator eye-tracking yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengukur tingkat atensi yang diperoleh adalah Time Viewed (CFT), Time to 1st View (TFF), dan Number of Fixation (NF). Iklan dalam poster yang ditempatkan di area aksi (inner area) mendapat tingkat perhatian yang lebih tinggi dari pada iklan yang ditempatkan di area luar. Sedangkan pada video, penempatan iklan sepakbola terbaik adalah pada penempatan iklan penuh. Namun, penempatan iklan di posisi bawah juga dapat disarankan. Penempatan iklan pada MotoGP yang mendapat perhatian lebih adalah pada iklan penuh. Namun, saat adegan diperbesar, iklan bisa ditempatkan di posisi bawah.

Abstract

Nowadays, many lecturer positions in higher education are filled by millennials; by 2025, the number of millennial workers will reach 75%, which means three out of four workers are millennials. Millennials are also known as generation Y. Previous studies show that there are differences in the work values of millennials and previous generations, such that millennial workers may be reluctant to engage in organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). OCB refers to extra-discretionary role behaviors that enhance the organizational environment, which supports task performance. In today's complex and fast-paced organizations, extra-role behaviors have become critical to organizational success. Transformational leadership and self-efficacy have been found to be strong predictors of OCB, but the underlying mechanisms are unclear. This study aims to examine the effect of transformational leadership on the OCB of millennial lecturers, for which self-efficacy is a mediator. This research is a quantitative study, involving 357 millennial lecturers in Indonesia as research subjects. The results of this study indicate that self-efficacy partially mediates the effect of transformational leadership on the OCB of millennial lecturers. An increase in transformational leadership will increase OCB, either directly or through an increase in lecturer self-efficacy. The results of this study can be utilized by the government and university managers as review material.Keywords: OCB, Extra role behavior, Y generation, Lecturer, Higher education.

Abstract

The pulp and paper industry is one of the industries that significantly contributes to the national economy. Indonesia has at least 103 companies in the paper industry sector, with a total paper production capacity of 18.26 million tons per year. The industry has employed 1.36 million workers and generated exports worth USD 7.5 billion in 2021. The paper industry is not only categorized as a labor-intensive industry but also as a high-risk industry. This study aims to analyze the safety climate in the production department of the paper industry in West Java Province, Indonesia. This study involved the participation of 366 individuals in different roles, including managers, supervisors, leaders, officers, and operators, who were interviewed and asked to complete a questionnaire using the NOSACQ-50 method. The NOSACQ-50 method consists of 7 dimensions of safety climate. The results show that all safety climate dimensions scored between 3.38-3.77, which is a perfect level that needs to be maintained and continuously improved. The safety climate score of the paper industry in Indonesia has a similar pattern to the previous research results released by Nordic on its official website but with higher values. The results of this study are consistent with previous research, which posits safety climate as a homogeneous shared perception characteristic of an organization's safety culture.
