Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed at comprehensively analyzing critical thinking patterns in elementary school students through the Grounded Theory method. The design used was a case study. This study involved 25 fourth grade students at Kedung Krisik Elementary School, Cirebon City. Data collection was carried out through critical thinking math test questions; and interviews between researchers and students after completing the test questions. The analysis process was carried out by giving tests to students. The results of this study reveals that students' critical thinking skills in mathematics at the elementary school are divided into three categories, namely CTA 3, CTA 2, and CTA 1. It could be seen that critical thinking skills in mathematics can be improved by practicing working on questions related to mathematics learning, especially in the form of contextual questions. The Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal (CTA) critical thinking assessment models could be applied to measure critical thinking skills themselves.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of applying motion video-based audiovisual media in increasing the learning motivation of fourth-grade students in PPKN at Cibadak Public Elementary School, Sukaresmi District, Cianjur Regency. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 60 fourth-grade students divided into two groups: the experimental group (30 students) and the control group (30 students), who received conventional learning using the lecture method. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire based on a Likert scale. Instrument testing showed that all questionnaire items were valid with correlation coefficients ranging from r = 0.41–0.78. The reliability test using Cronbach’s Alpha showed a value of α = 0.89, indicating that the instrument was highly reliable. Prior to hypothesis testing, the data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and Levene’s homogeneity test. The data were normally distributed and homogeneous (p > 0.05). Hypothesis testing was conducted using one-way ANOVA with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed a significant difference in learning motivation between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). Cohen's d = 4.32 (experimental) and d = 4.13 (control) indicated a significant effect of motion video media on learning motivation. The study concludes that motion-video-based audiovisual media effectively increase the motivation to learn among fourth-grade PPKN students. The practical implication of this study is the need to integrate video media into the PPKN lesson plan and provide ICT facilities in elementary schools.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze and describe students' digital literacy abilities in collaborative online learning. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection in the form of observations, interviews and documentation studies. The sample in this research was first semester students who took part in a collaborative online learning program with basic social studies concepts courses, consisting of PGSD students at the Institut Pendidikan dan Bahasa Invada Cirebon, as well as PGSD students at the Universitas Flores. The data analysis technique in this research uses qualitative descriptive analysis; the Miles & Huberman model includes data collection, reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that first semester students already have good digital literacy skills. It can be seen from the results of data analysis carried out by researchers in the form of interviews and documentation studies during the implementation of collaborative online learning.
