Abstract

This study aimed to determine students' mistakes in solving mathematics problems on the rational and irrational inequality of one variable. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research subjects consisted of 36 students consisting of 17 boys and 19 girls. The research instrument used was a learning achievement test consisting of three items that referred to Basic Competence (KD) 3.2 Explain and determine the resolution of rational and irrational inequalities of one variable. From KD 3.2 developed into three Indicators of Competency Achievement (IPK). Each item measures a different IPK. Students' answers were analyzed descriptively qualitatively by looking at the types of mistakes students made on each item. The results showed that the mistakes made by students were concept errors, principle errors, and operating errors. The mistakes made by students are caused by students not being careful in solving problems and not understanding the rules of algebraic operations.

Abstract

This research aims to improve learning process and students’ mathematics learning achievement by applying Inquiry Learning model. Subject of this research are students of VIIIA SMPN 4 Tambang in second semester of academic year 2018/2019 which consist of 29 students. This research is a classroom action research with 2 cycles. The instruments of this research are learning Instrument (Syllabus, Lesson Plans, and Activity Sheets) and data collecting instruments (observation Sheets for teacher and students) and Students’ Mathematic tests. The data collecting techniques in this research are observation techniques and test techniques. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative descriptive, while the students mathematic tests were analyzed in quantitative descriptive. Qualitative descriptive analysis results show an improvement of learning process after the implementation of the action (first and second cycle). Quantitative descriptive analysis shows the improvement in students’ mathematic scores. The number of students in the “very high” and “high” interval increases. While the number of students in the “very low”, “low”,and “medium” interval decreases. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the implementation of Inquiry Learning model can be improves the learning process and the students’ mathematics learning achievement in class of VIIIA SMPN 4 Tambang.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve the learning process and improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes through the application of cooperative learning models with the structural approach of NHT. This research was conducted in class VII Hang Jebat Junior High School 1 Pekanbaru in the 2019/2020 school year. The subjects of this study were 31 students consisting of 16 male students and 15 female students. The study was conducted in two cycles with each cycle consisting of three meetings and one daily repetition. The research instrument used was a learning device and data collection instrument. Learning tools consisting of the syllabus, learning implementation plan, student worksheet, and NHT question sheets. Data collection instruments consisted of observation sheets and test results of learning. Based on qualitative data analysis, it was concluded that there was an improvement in the learning process after applying the cooperative learning model of the structural approach Numbered Heads Together. Quantitative descriptive analysis shows the improvement in students’ mathematic scores. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of the cooperative learning model of the Numbered Heads Together structural approach can improve the learning process and can improve the learning outcomes of students in grade VII Hang Jebat Junior High School 1 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited mathematics learning devices that are in accordance with the 2013 Curriculum. This research purposed is to produce mathematics learning devices such as syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets by using problem based learning on sets material for the seventh grade of junior high school. The development model used in this research is the 4-D model which consists of the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The learning devices that have been developed were validated by three validators and revised according to suggestions from the validators. The average score of the validation results for the syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets are 90.25%, 91.25%, and 91.75% with very valid categories. The results of this validation indicate that the syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets are feasible to be tested. Researcher conducted trials one by one on six students to see the students responses and readability to student worksheets developed with a problem based learning model. It was found that the student worksheets being developed can help them in studying the set material, is easy to understand, the explanation is clear enough and the students worksheets looks interesting. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion it can be concluded that the syllabus, lesson plans, and student worksheets by using problem based learning model on sets material for the seventh grade of junior high school has fulfilled valid.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop the mathematics learning instrument: syllabus, lesson plans (RPP), and student worksheets (LKPD) using the experiential learning model on circle subject for 8th grade students of junior high school (SMP) that is categorized as valid and categorized as practical. This research used Research and Development (R&D) model with ADDIE procedure; analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research instruments that used in this research were learning instrument validation sheets and student response questionnaires. Syllabus, RPP, and LKPD validated by 3 validators and revised according to suggestion from validator. The valid LKPD then tested in two stages, the small group trial and large group trial. According to the result of validation data analysis of learning instruments, those were categorized as very valid with the average score for syllabus was 4.24, for RPP was 4.18, and LKPD was 3,85. According to the result of student response questionnaires toward the LKPD practicality already the requirements of practicality with the percentage of students' response reaches 84% in large group trials. According to the result of data analysis and the discussion, it can be concluded that the learning instruments using the experiential learning model on circle subject were very valid, and the LKPD were very practical to be used by 8th grade students of junior high school.

Abstract

This study aims to produce mathematics learning tools in the form of a syllabus, lesson plans (RPP), and student worksheets (LKPD) based on a problem-based learning model on statistical material for class VIII junior high school students. This study uses a 4-D development model, which includes four stages, namely: (1) define; (2) design; (3) develop; and (4) dIsseminate. The research instrument used is the instrument of validity and practicality. The validity instrument is in the form of a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the syllabus, lesson plans, and LKPD. The practical instrument is in the form of a student response questionnaire to the use of LKPD. The learning tools that have been compiled are then validated by three validators and revised according to suggestions from the validators. The valid learning tools were then tested in small groups with the subject of 6 students of class VIII SMP. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, mathematics learning tools in the form of syllabus, lesson plans and LKPD with a problem-based learning model on statistical material are considered very valid and very practical to be used by junior high school students of class VIII.
