Abstract

Mead is a sweet and thick food containing gold to chocolate with high sugar content and low fat. But mead farmers have a mead squeeze process, because mead farmers in Sumbawa still use traditional methods. Related to this at the time of extortion and comfort of mead farmers. Furthermore, a mead squeezer machine is needed as a solution to improve the work process of mead farmers in producing quality mead water. The press from this automatic mead-squeezer produces mead water that is not mixed with the residue of the residual nest. This extortion process takes a short amount of time to squeeze meadcombs with a capacity of 3 kg in just 10 minutes. At this time meadcomb dregs are stuck to the walls of the filter and do not come mixed with mead water depending on the filter hole which is very small and neat. This extortion process uses an electric motor with a rotation of 1400 RPM as a drive or filter player that is transmitted by the van-belt.

Abstract

Seaweed is one of the superior commodities of aquaculture in Kertasari Village, Taliwang District, Sumbawa Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat, with an area of ??1,550 ha in 2013 with a production of 9,850 tons. Post-harvest handling and processing of seaweed is still conducted traditionally, efficiency and the quality of seaweed produced is low. Long enough drying can affect the growth of microorganisms in seaweed, causing the growth of mold and fungus. The explanation of the problem above makes the writer try to find a solution of the problems faced by seaweed farmers in Kertasari Village, with a maker of seaweed dryers based on Solar Dryer. The solar dryer uses a corrugated plate solar collector with a slope angle of 45o and a zinc plate material with a thickness of 0.4 mm with a conductivity value (k) of 116 W / moC. In addition it uses a clear glass cover with a thickness of 3 mm with a slope of 15o. This tool uses a framework in the form of aluminum, with the tilt angle used can produce a Tout of 70.64 oC and Tin of 56.11 oC.

Abstract

This study designs a water wheel for micro-hydropower generation with low-head flow of the Undershot type. The water wheel is designed with a head height of 0.5 meters, a diameter of 1.10 meters, and 16 blades, producing a planned power of 6.536 kW. The peripheral speed of the wheel is 0.28 meters per second with a rotation speed of 4.05 rpm. The blade receives water at a rate of 1.4 m³/second, generating a fluid force of 840 Newtons. The angular velocity of the wheel is 0.424 rad/second, and the shaft power is 5.556 kW with a shaft diameter of 0.10 meters. The static equivalent load is calculated to be 438.91 Newtons. This water wheel is expected to utilize slow but constant water flow to generate electricity, helping the rice field area in Manemeng village to maximize harvest yields and control pests.

Abstract

In general, the process of cracking candlenuts still uses a manual process with rattan bags and hit on stones, so it requires a lot of manpower with special skills. The method used in this study is the throwing system. Based on the results of the study, the results of the rotor test with an average test using 3 rpm variations. Where using 800 rpm obtained intact results with a value of 24.39%, split in half 21.13%, crushed 4.87% and not broken 44.71%. Then with the use of 1000 rpm obtained intact results with a value of 28.45%, split in half 19.51%, crushed 4.06% and not broken 41.46%. While the use of 1200 rpm can produce intact cores 27.23%, split in half 18.29%, crushed 16.26% and not broken 32.52%. So in the test with the rotor using 3 rpm variations (800,100, and 1200) the results of the intact core were obtained with a rotation of 1200 rpm with a result of 27.23%. So by using the designed candlenut nut cracker, the production capacity of the cracker is able to break with a capacity of up to 20 kg / hour.
