Abstract

This paper examines the role of empathy in fostering a gender-sensitive atmosphere in elementary schools, especially among sixth-grade students. It seeks to address the issue of lack of empathy, which has been linked to the prevalence of sexism, misogyny, and sexual abuse in today’s society. The research objective is to assess the efficiency of incorporating an empathetic approach in classroom activities to enhance gender awareness among students. The research uses a qualitative experimental design and an empathetic approach by applying Gender Responsive Scorecard (GRS) and Empathy map as the foundation of activities design. The research result indicates and provides evidence of the effectiveness of the empathic approach in improving students' understanding of experiences that differ from their own, especially regarding gender. In addition, the results will guide educators and researchers on how to incorporate an empathetic approach in promoting gender responsiveness in the classroom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas penggunaan metode Mind Mapping dalam pembelajaran IPA bagian sistem pencernaan manusia di kelas V SDN 2 Rawa Laut. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif untuk mengukur peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dari pra-siklus hingga siklus kedua. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes dan observasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak dua kali siklus, yang melibatkan 35 peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode Mind Mapping mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada setiap siklus, dengan peningkatan rata-rata 60%. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Mind Mapping merupakan alternatif yang efektif bagi pembelajaran IPA bagian sistem pencernaan manusia di kelas V SDN 2 Rawa Laut. Kata-kata Kunci:  Mind Mapping, peningkatan hasil belajar, pembelajaran IPA

Abstract

This research aims to apply the phenomenological and psychosocial approaches in analyzing the main character in "L’Enfance d’un Chef" by Jean-Paul Sartre. In this study, the author uses a qualitative descriptive method to explore the subjective experience of the character and the concept of freedom in the literary work. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of human experience in their social environment through a phenomenological approach in literature. The study starts with identifying the background and context of the literary work and exploring the theories related to this research, including phenomenology and psychosocial theory. The author applies phenomenological and psychosocial approaches to analyze the main character and understand his subjective experience. The results show that the main character, Lucien, has a complex and interrelated subjective experience with his social environment. Phenomenological analysis helps the author understand how Lucien perceives and gives meaning to his life experience, while psychosocial analysis helps the author understand the social and psychological factors that influence Lucien's life experience. The conclusion of this study is that the phenomenological and psychosocial approaches can be used to analyze characters in literature and can provide a deeper understanding of the subjective experience of humans in their social environment

Abstract

Salah satu faktor dari dalam diri yang menentukan berhasil tidaknya dalam proses belajar-mengajar adalah motivasi belajar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui peran guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial kelas V di SD Aulia Cendekia Islamic School Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa peran guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial kelas V di SD Aulia Cendekia Islamic School Pekanbaru ditunjukkan dengan adanya guru sebagai demonstrator,pengelola kelas, mediator dan fasilitator serta evaluator. Sedangkan upaya guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa yaitu: 1) guru sebagai demonstrator: menggunakan metode yang sesuai, menggunakan bahasa yang mudah dimengerti, 2) guru sebagai pengelola kelas: memperhatikan konsentrasi siswa, merolling tempat duduk, 4) guru sebagai mediator dan fasilitator: menyediakan media dan fasilitas belajar, memutarkan film, 5) guru sebagai evaluator: memberi hadiah, memberi nilai atau angka, memberi pujian dan hukuman. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa sangat penting dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial di Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

The teaching and learning process is often unengaging for students and ineffective for teachers. This issue arises from various factors, such as cramped classroom conditions, students' lack of attention, minimal facilities, and a lack of engaging learning media. This study aims to evaluate the content quality and presentation of the Fun Thinkers Book and to provide improvement recommendations before dissemination. This research is an evaluation study using a formative-summative evaluation model. Evaluation is conducted through a formative evaluation stage consisting of field tests and a summative evaluation which measures the acceptance and utility of the media, resulting in various recommendations. The results indicate that the Fun Thinkers Book on temperature and heat is very suitable to be used. The content quality of the Fun Thinkers Book was rated as very good, with a score of 84% from teachers of grades 3 to 5. The presentation quality was also rated as very good, with a score of 88%. Furthermore, the assessment of student interest in the Fun Thinkers Book, involving 30 students, showed excellent results with a score of 77%. It can be concluded that the Fun Thinkers Book is highly suitable to be used, with a high level of student interest.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan untuk mengenalisis pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran ips berbasis kearifan lokal terhadap kesadaran budaya siswa sekolah dasar bertepatan di desa Tanjung di UPT SDN 002 Tanjung koto kampar hulu, penerapan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif bentuk eksperimen jenis Pre-Eksperimen one Gruoup Pretest posttest design. Pada populasinya adalah seluruh siswa Kelas V dengan jumlah siswa 25 orang dan sekaligus menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini metode observasi,Wawancara,tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisi inferensial yang digunakan yaitu mengunakan rumus statistik tes”t”dependent dengan rumus Paired Sampel t tes untuk menguji hipotesis dengan bantuan aplikasi spss. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan yang telah dipaparkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran ips berbasis kearifan lokal memiliki dampak positif terhadap kesadaran budaya siswa sekolah dasar. Adanya pengaruh tersebut didukung dengan data bahwa nilai mean pretest sebesar 64,00, sedangkan nilai mean posttest sebesar 83,40. Hasil lainnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh terhadap hasil pengujian hipotesis atau uji t sampel berpasangan yaitu 0,000 < 0,000. Jika 0,05 maka H1 diterima. Menunjukkan perbedaan tingkat perkembangan kesadaran budaya siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan pembelajaran IPS berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

This cross-cultural analysis addresses a growing need to understand the integration of local wisdom in primary school social science curricula, particularly in the contexts of Taiwan and Indonesia. The research problem centers on the examination of curricular content, pedagogical strategies, and the depth of local wisdom integration within these nations' educational frameworks. Employing a content analysis approach, the study categorizes and compares themes, values, and cultural elements in the curricula, shedding light on similarities and disparities. The research methodology involves extensive document analysis and a comprehensive review of existing studies, covering empirical, qualitative, and quantitative research. The results aim to offer a nuanced comparative synthesis of local wisdom integration in Taiwan and Indonesia, highlighting common trends and differences. The study concludes by emphasizing the implications for education, showcasing how a culturally informed curriculum can positively influence students' attitudes toward diversity. This research underscores the importance of fostering cultural understanding within educational systems, providing valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and curriculum developers striving to create inclusive and culturally rich learning environments.

Abstract

Teachers posed an important role in the classroom as a crucial factor in increasing students' curiosity and attention in learning. However, there are indications that so far, the teacher has been using the same learning model for all lessons, delivering lessons too fast and not systematically, and the lack of guidance in learning. This causes students to have less opportunity to develop their potential. Another impact is that students become passive in learning science so that student learning outcomes and activities decrease. Therefore, this study seeks to improve student learning outcomes through the application of the Times Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model in Ecosystem learning. The research was carried out in two improvement cycles using natural science ecosystem material. The results showed that student learning outcomes increased, in the pre-cycle the students' scores were ≥ 70, 43%, in cycle 1 students' mastery scores were ≥ 70, 54%. Meanwhile, in the second cycle, students' mastery scores ≥ 70 increased to 89%. It can be concluded that the use of the Times Games Tournament (TGT) method can improve learning outcomes for the 5th-grade students in class A, Metta Maitreya Primary School Pekanbaru, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City.

Abstract

The research aims to understand the role played by the supervising teacher in assisting intellectually disabled students in developing noble character. This includes understanding the approaches and teaching methods used, partices of etiquette in eating and drinking in daily life, courtesy towards others and greetings both within and outside of school. The approach used in this research is qualitative and the type of research is phenomenology. Data collection techniques involve interviews and observations. Data analysis is conducted using descriptive analytics. The results of the research indicate the efforts of the supervising teacher in cultivating noble character through practices such as handshaking and greetings, etiquette in eating and drinking in daily life and the application of courtesy for both typically developing children and children with special needs.

Abstract

Indonesian language learning aims to improve students' communication skills in both spoken and written Indonesian, while also fostering an appreciation for Indonesian literature. Elementary school (SD) students need to develop oral and written communication skills, as well as an appreciation for literary works. However, observations at SD Negeri 5 Lubai revealed a lack of interest in learning among most students, with 10 out of 29 students scoring below 75, falling short of the minimum passing grade. This research focuses on addressing the problem of speaking ability in Grade V students by introducing the role-play method. Role-playing involves students portraying different characters to explore relationships, feelings, attitudes, values, and problem-solving strategies. By actively engaging in role-play, students can develop their imagination, appreciation, and communication skills. The research conducted two cycles of activities, with an average learning outcome completeness of 34.48% in cycle I. In cycle II, there was a significant improvement, with a completeness percentage of 86.21%. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the role-play method in enhancing student learning engagement and improving their proficiency in Indonesian language skills.
