Abstract

This study investigates the potential long-term effects of the Think Talk Write (TTW) model on the social communication competence of primary school students. TTW, an inquiry-based learning approach emphasizing collaborative thinking, discussion, and written reflection, has shown promise in improving immediate communication skills. However, its long-term impact on social competence, encompassing active listening, effective communication strategies, and empathy, remains under-researched. This study employs a class action research design to investigate the long-term impact of Think Talk Write (TTW) on social communication competence in fifth-grade students at MI Al-Hidayah Pekanbaru, Indonesia. Two intact classes (n = 17 each) will participate: the TTW group, exposed to TTW throughout the study, and the control group, receiving standard pedagogy. Specific evaluation tools will be utilized to assess the students’ social communication competence. The findings could inform pedagogical decisions and contribute to a nuanced understanding of how active learning environments foster well-rounded individuals with strong communication skills. The study found that the TTW model had a positive impact on students' social communication competence. Specifically, students in the TTW group showed significant improvements in their ability to: Actively listen to others, Express empathy, Resolve conflict, and Collaborate effectively.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA pada siswa kelas V sekolah dasar kerap mengalami kesulitan, terutama pada materi sistem pencernaan dan pernapasan. Kesulitan tersebut disebabkan oleh pemahaman konseptual yang rendah serta keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang kurang interaktif, sehingga menyebabkan minimnya keterlibatan aktif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesulitan siswa dalam mempelajari materi IPAS serta menganalisis efektivitas media digital GIMTIK berbasis Project Based Learning (PJBL) dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, kreativitas, dan kolaborasi siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan melibatkan 30 siswa kelas V sebagai subjek penelitian. Data kuantitatif dikumpulkan melalui tes diagnostik dan angket, sedangkan data kualitatif diperoleh dari wawancara dan observasi selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk menghitung persentase dan rata-rata skor pemahaman siswa, sedangkan data kualitatif dianalisis secara tematik dengan triangulasi untuk memastikan validitas temuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 63% siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami urutan proses pencernaan dan fungsi organ pernapasan, terutama pada soal yang membutuhkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS). Implementasi media digital GIMTIK berbasis PJBL terbukti meningkatkan pemahaman siswa secara signifikan, di mana nilai rata-rata posttest meningkat 18 poin dibandingkan pretest dan 80% siswa berhasil mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Selain itu, media ini juga memfasilitasi peningkatan kreativitas dan kolaborasi siswa melalui kegiatan proyek kelompok yang melibatkan pembuatan produk pembelajaran yang dipresentasikan secara bersama-sama. Data kualitatif mendukung temuan ini dengan menunjukkan respons positif dari siswa dan guru mengenai interaktivitas dan keterlibatan dalam pembelajaran. Kesimpulannya, media digital GIMTIK berbasis PJBL efektif dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar IPA serta mendukung pengembangan kreativitas dan kolaborasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran yang lebih bermakna dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi guru untuk mengimplementasikan media digital interaktif berbasis PJBL dalam pembelajaran IPAS guna meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual dan keterampilan abad 21 siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning difficulties of fifth grade students of SD Islam Babussalam Pekanbaru in understanding the material of the ecosystem of living things. The method used is qualitative with a case study design, involving 20 students and teachers through observation, interviews, and tests. The results show that students have difficulties in five aspects: interpreting (40%), exemplifying (60%), classifying (20%), inferencing (50%), and explaining (50%). These difficulties are caused by a lack of understanding of concepts and the use of complex scientific terms. As a solution, it is recommended to apply varied learning methods, increase interaction, and utilize learning media, including videos, which can be accessed at any time. This study highlights the importance of developing appropriate learning media to improve students' understanding of science material.

Abstract

Social Studies (IPS) at the Elementary School level has an important role in shaping the character and social understanding of students. This study aims to explain the nature, objectives, philosophical foundations, urgency, and dimensions of IPS learning. The method used is a literature review by analyzing various sources of theory and previous research results. IPS as a field of study is an integration of various social science disciplines such as geography, history, economics, and sociology. IPS learning in elementary schools does not only focus on cognitive knowledge, but also instills moral values, social attitudes, and critical thinking skills. Ontological, epistemological, and axiological foundations are the basis for developing learning materials and approaches that are in accordance with student characteristics. The dimensions of IPS learning include knowledge, skills, attitudes, and actions that aim to shape students into active, tolerant, and responsible citizens.

Abstract

his study aims to describe elementary school students’ understanding of character values in social studies learning integrated into the IPAS (Science and Social Science) subject, as well as to identify supporting factors, challenges, and the implementation of these values in the classroom. A descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach was used, conducted at SDN 009 Sendayan. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that most students understood character values such as responsibility, cooperation, and honesty, although their application varied among individuals. Influencing factors included family environment, school culture, and teaching methods used. Challenges faced included the lack of consistency in applying values outside the classroom and the influence of social media. In conclusion, IPAS learning holds significant potential in instilling character values but requires systematic strategies and support from all parties to ensure holistic and sustainable character development in students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganilsis Kembali secara kuantitatif tentang pendekatan pembelajaran kooperatif  dan pengaruhnya terhadap minat dan hasil belajar IPS. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah meta-analisis secara kuantitatif. Sumber data diperoleh dari 17 jurnal yang telah dipilih berdasarkan kriteria tertentu, Artikel-artikel tersebut diperoleh dari hasil penelusuran melalui google scoolar, Phublish or pherish, eric jurnal, garuda, sciendrec.yang diterbitkan secara on line. Dari hasil penelusuran diperoleh 7 jurnal terkait pengaruh pendekatan kooperatif dan minat belajar IPS dan 10 jurnal terkait pendekatan kooperait dengan hasil belajar IPS. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya pendekatan kooperatif dapat meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar IPS. Dan terlihat adanya hubungan antara hasil dan minat belajar IPS. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil uji non parametrik spearman’s diaman sig 0.215 > 0.05. yang artinya ada hubungan edat antara minat belajar IPS dan Hasil belajar IPS. Bentuk hubungan tersebut mengarah kenegatif karena nilai correlation coofecient sebesar -0.536, dimana nilai ini negative dan mendekati nilai satu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas penggunaan metode Mind Mapping dalam pembelajaran IPA bagian sistem pencernaan manusia di kelas V SDN 2 Rawa Laut. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif untuk mengukur peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dari pra-siklus hingga siklus kedua. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes dan observasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak dua kali siklus, yang melibatkan 35 peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode Mind Mapping mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada setiap siklus, dengan peningkatan rata-rata 60%. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Mind Mapping merupakan alternatif yang efektif bagi pembelajaran IPA bagian sistem pencernaan manusia di kelas V SDN 2 Rawa Laut. Kata-kata Kunci:  Mind Mapping, peningkatan hasil belajar, pembelajaran IPA

Abstract

The issue of gender inequality and environmental, such as flooding, has recently become increasingly happened and discussed in the mass media. Both issues are well represented in the animated film Moana. There are many symbols in the animated film that can be related to both ecological theory and feminism. However, by using an ecofeminism approach, the author tries to analyze the symbols and codes that represent the exploitation of marginal parties in the film. From the results of the analysis, it was found that there are many representations related to the exploitation of women and the environment found in the film and this is relevant to the issue of equality and environmental issues today.

Abstract

This study aims to explain two main aspects: first, the role of teachers in instilling social attitudes among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 029 Sungai Pinang; second, the factors that facilitate or hinder teachers in this process.The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach to understand how social attitudes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 029 Sungai Pinang are cultivated through Social Studies (IPS) education. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman model involving data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.The findings indicate that: (1) Teachers employ IPS teaching strategies to instill social values in students, such as modeling positive social interactions both inside and outside the classroom, integrating IPS curriculum with social values, and initiating discussions with positive social messages at the beginning of lessons. Regular evaluations of social attitudes are also conducted. (2) The outcomes of cultivating social attitudes among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 029 Sungai Pinang through IPS education show successful results categorized as effective. Teachers have effectively instilled values such as honesty, politeness, self-discipline, and tolerance in accordance with predefined indicators
