Abstract

This study discusses consumer protection within the framework of business law in Indonesia, focusing on the imbalance of legal positions between consumers and business actors in modern economic activities. Rapid business development, including conventional and digital transactions, often places consumers in a vulnerable position due to limited information, unequal bargaining power, and the use of standard contracts imposed unilaterally by business actors. The purpose of this research is to analyze the concept and regulation of consumer protection, identify forms of legal protection provided to consumers, and examine the role of consumer protection law in creating a balance of interests between consumers and business actors. This research employs a normative juridical method with a descriptive-analytical approach, using statutory regulations, legal literature, and previous studies as sources of data. The results show that consumer protection in Indonesia is comprehensively regulated under Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, which guarantees consumer rights, regulates business actors’ obligations, and provides dispute resolution mechanisms. Effective implementation of consumer protection law is essential to ensure legal certainty, enhance consumer trust, and promote fair and sustainable business practices.

Abstract

Palm fruit (Borassus flabellifer) is a local food resource abundantly found in Jeneponto Regency; however, its utilization remains limited and underdeveloped within the tourism sector. This study aims to identify the potential of palm fruit dodol as a culinary tourism attraction in Baraya Village, Jeneponto Regency, and to analyze its development prospects using the 4A tourism framework (attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary services). A qualitative approach was employed through library research supported by participatory observation and semi-structured interviews with purposively selected key informants, including village officials, community leaders, and representatives of women’s household groups. The findings indicate that palm fruit dodol production has strong potential as a culinary tourism attraction by integrating local food resources, traditional processing methods, and local cultural values. The dodol-making process can be developed into a participatory tourism experience that enhances the economic value of palm fruit and supports income diversification for local communities. Nevertheless, the development of culinary tourism in Baraya Village faces challenges related to accessibility and tourism amenities. This study concludes that palm fruit dodol has the potential to become a flagship local culinary tourism product in Jeneponto Regency, provided that integrated management and institutional support are strengthened

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of cashback and discount features of digital wallets (e-wallet) on Generation Z financial decision-making through the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) approach. This study employed a quantitative associative method using path analysis (path analysis) with SPSS software. Data were collected from 111 respondents who were active students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Generation Z aged 18–30 years, and active users of digital wallets who had transacted using cashback or discount features at least once. The results showed that cashback had a positive and significant effect on perceived usefulness (β=0.432, sig.=0.000) and perceived ease of use (β=0.382, sig.=0.000). Discount also had a positive and significant effect on perceived usefulness (β=0.239, sig.=0.005) and perceived ease of use (β=0.382, sig.=0.000). Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use significantly influenced attitude toward using (β=0.401 and β=0.340, sig.=0.000). Attitude toward using significantly influenced behavioral intention to use (β=0.570, sig.=0.000), and behavioral intention to use significantly influenced financial decision-making (β=0.502, sig.=0.000). The overall coefficient of determination (R²) of the full model reached 0.99, indicating that the model explains 99% of variance in financial decision-making. The Sobel test confirmed that all mediating paths were significant. The findings indicate that cashback is more dominant than discount in influencing Generation Z e-wallet usage behavior and financial decision-making.
