Abstract

Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is a family medicinal herb commonly used as a kitchen spice. Lemongrass contains essential oils such as citral, myrcene, geraniol, citronellol, and α-oxo bisabolene that have a high-selling value and benefits as a fungal growth inhibitor, antibacterial, anti-insect, and anti-cancer. Socialization about the benefits of lemongrass essential oils and training on producing its essential oils was conducted through community service. The activity material was delivered through a presentation, and training in processing lemongrass to essential oils was conducted through a demo activity directly in front of participants. This community service activity was held in the Plaju Darat urban village meeting hall involving family welfare empowerment representatives, the head of the neighborhood, and the urban village community as participants. Pre-tests and post-tests were given to participants to determine the level of their understanding of the material presented. The test results improved participants’ understanding of the benefits of essential oils and their processing methods. It was concluded that participants understood the benefits of lemongrass essential oils and knew how to produce them.

Abstract

Abstract

The impact of motivation on the caliber of health worker services at Hasta Husada Special Surgery Hospital has been examined in earlier literature studies. This scoping review's goal is to map out previous research that evaluates how work motivation affects the caliber of services provided by health workers. Finding research questions, finding pertinent studies, choosing studies, mapping data, and gathering, summarizing, and reporting findings are the five primary steps of a scoping review. According to the scoping review's findings, the majority of studies conducted over a ten-year period (2013–2023) recognized that job motivation affected the caliber of hospital services. However, according to Cicilia Lihawa et al. (2016), Titi Nur Wahidah (2017), and Andreano C. Porotu'o et al. (2014), work motivation had no bearing on the quality of services.

Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of liquidity and intellectual capital on company value, with profitability serving as a mediating variable, in the context of the Advertising, Printing, and Media sub-sector of the creative industry listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2020 to 2023. Drawing on Signaling Theory and the Resource-Based View (RBV), this research explores how internal financial and intangible assets influence investor perceptions and company valuation. Using secondary data and a purposive sampling method, 19 companies were analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Liquidity was measured by the Current Ratio (CR), intellectual capital by Value Added Human Capital (VAHU), profitability by Return on Equity (ROE), and company value by Price to Book Value (PBV). The results reveal that liquidity significantly and positively affects company value, while intellectual capital exhibits a weak and insignificant impact. Profitability, surprisingly, shows a negative and significant effect on company value, and fails to mediate the relationship between liquidity and intellectual capital with company value. These findings highlight the centrality of liquidity in investor valuation decisions within this sub-sector, while also indicating a need for better strategic communication and optimization of intellectual capital to enhance company value. The study contributes to the literature by challenging the assumption of profitability as a consistent mediator and underscores the limited market appreciation for intangible assets in the creative industry. Future research is encouraged to explore additional mediators and conduct cross-sectoral analyses to enrich the understanding of value creation mechanisms in dynamic industries.

Abstract

Eggshell is a part that protects egg components from various external threats, including chemical, physical, and biological factors. This study aimed to obtain an adsorbent from chicken eggshells using physical and chemical activation techniques. The quality of the eggshell-derived adsorbent was assessed and compared with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 1995, with a focus on parameters such as ash content, moisture content, and iodine absorption. The adsorbent obtained was applied to a solution of methyl orange, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis was conducted before and after the adsorption process. Furthermore, the study stages include adsorbent preparation, activation, and adsorption. The adsorbent weight for this process was 17 grams, with time intervals of 15, 30, 45, 60, and 75 minutes. The results showed that both physically activated as well as physical and chemical activated adsorbents met the SNI 1995 standard, based on the parameters of water content (1.73% and 2.86%), ash content (8.18% and 6.745), and iodine absorption (761.40 mg/g and 774.09 mg/g). FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of a hydrocarbon and an OH group in the structure before and after adsorption. The optimum methyl orange adsorption capacity was achieved at an adsorbent mass of 17 grams and a contact time of 60 minutes, resulting in removal efficiencies of 20.38% for physical activation and 24.11% for physical and chemical activation.
