Abstract

This paper is aimed at analyzing the cyclical behavior of capital buffer of Islamic and conventional banks in Indonesia. More specifically, this paper has three objectives. First, to test whether capital buffer in Indonesian banking industry as a whole is countercyclical or procyclical. Second, to test whether there is a difference in the level of capital buffer of Islamic banks as compared to the level of capital buffer of conventional banks. Third, to test whether there is a difference in the cyclicality of capital buffer of Islamic and conventional banks. The analysis in this paper is conducted using the standard dynamic system generalized method of moments (system GMM) regressions and includes a panel of 108 banks over the period between 2004 and 2019. From the results, it can be concluded that the capital buffer of Islamic and conventional banks in Indonesia is procyclical. From the results, it can also be concluded that no difference exists in the level of capital buffer of Islamic banks as compared to conventional banks and in the cyclicality of capital buffer in Islamic and conventional banking. If the countercyclical capital buffer is achieved, a policy measure to alter the cyclical behavior of capital buffer of Islamic and conventional banks in Indonesia therefore is a must. Such policy measure needs not to be specified for Islamic or conventional banking industry.

Abstract

Background: The diverse plant diversity promotes herbal medicine use for breastfeeding mothers in Klaten to promote postpartum health and breast milk production. However, factors related to herbal medicine use have not yet been studied.Objectives: The study aimed to identify factors related to herbal medicine use among breastfeeding mothers in the Klaten Regency.Methods: The study used a structured survey questionnaire in a cross-sectional approach. Survey participants were recruited from community health centers in Klaten. The survey instrument was validated questionnaires that consisted of predisposing, supporting, and need factors. Logistic regression analyzed factors related to herbal medicine used in breastfeeding mothers.Results: The survey of 111 breastfeeding mothers in Klaten Regency found that 78.40% of respondents used herbal medicine, with most aged 20-35. The most perceived health status of the mother and breastfed child was healthy. Most respondents agreed that herbal medicine was safer and more effective than conventional medicine. The logistical regression revealed that breast milk flow issues (p-value = 0.000) and the belief that herbs are more effective than chemical medications (p-value = 0.008) significantly influence the use of herbal medicine.Conclusion: The study concluded that the significant factors related to herbal medication use were breast milk's smoothness and the belief that herbal medicine is more efficacious than conventional medicine. The belief is often shaped by social culture and family experiences, leading to the possibility of incorrect information. Health professionals are crucial in providing information about herbal medicine and recommending its use to promote health and prevent health problems.

Abstract

Learning short stories requires imaginative skills that can be supported by a good and an immersive educational approach includes the Project Based Learning framework assisted by photography. This research aims to determine crafting narratives through the Project Based Learning methodology assisted by photography in students in the 11th grade at SMA Negeri 1 Jawai. The research methodology employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data source of this research is students in the 11th grade IA2 at SMA Negeri 1 Jawai and the data are students' project reports. The findings of the study indicate that students short story writing skills with the PBL learning model experienced improvement. The improvement in students' short story writing skills from pre-action to cycle 1 was 16%, from an average pre-action score of 62.77 to 72.77 in cycle 1, and From the first phase to the second phase, there was a 12% increase, with the average score improving from 72.77 in phase 1 to 81.33 in phase 2. Students' short story writing skills improved by 30% overall, with the average score increasing from 62.77 before the intervention to 81.33 afterward, aligning with the learning objectives to achieve mastery.

Abstract

As a result of the Covid-19 epidemic, every industry in the world has been greatly affected. We took Malaysia's Petronas as an example to analyze how oil and gas industries were impacted by such a difficult international situation. This paper investigated how Covid-19 affected Petronas and how it responded to the sharp drop in oil price. In a questionnaire survey, we listed the problems that Petronas may face in this outbreak.

Abstract

Media sosial telah menjadi sumber inspirasi visual dan alat promosi dalam industri tata rambut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh media sosial terhadap keputusan konsumen dalam memilih gaya potongan rambut yang sesuai dengan bentuk wajah. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif melalui analisis konten pada platform seperti Instagram dan TikTok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial berperan dalam membentuk preferensi konsumen, meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya kecocokan gaya rambut dengan bentuk wajah, serta memperkuat citra profesional dan loyalitas pelanggan melalui strategi konten yang konsisten. Media sosial terbukti efektif dalam menghubungkan kebutuhan estetika konsumen dengan layanan profesional di bidang tata rambut.

Abstract

Limited health knowledge increases the risk of improper use and disposal of self-medication drugs. Educational interventions, such as brochures, are expected to enhance public awareness. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of brochures in improving the knowledge of PKK (Family Empowerment and Welfare) mothers in RT 01 RW 10, South Danguran, regarding the appropriate use and disposal of self-medication. A pre-experimental one-group pre-test–post-test design was employed, involving 37 purposively selected respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Univariate analysis was used to describe respondent characteristics, knowledge levels, and survey responses, while bivariate analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results showed that most respondents were aged 46–65 years (64.9%), had a high school education (56.8%), and worked as housewives or laborers (67.6%). Before the intervention, 51.4% of respondents had a moderate level of knowledge, whereas after the intervention, 81% demonstrated a good level of knowledge. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test indicated a significant improvement, with a p-value of <0.001 (p < 0.05). In conclusion, brochures were effective in increasing knowledge regarding the use and disposal of self-medication drugs among PKK mothers in RT 01 RW 10, South Danguran.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of using Flipbook Maker on student engagement and the shift in educational paradigms in elementary schools. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study, involving interviews with teachers, classroom observations, and analysis of student learning product documents. The research results show that the use of Flipbook Maker significantly enhances student engagement in learning. Students become more active in participating, creative, and collaborative in creating learning materials. Additionally, the application of this technology also brings a shift in the educational paradigm, from a lecture-based teaching approach to a more interactive, project-based, and collaborative learning approach. This study also found that the use of Flipbook Maker contributes to the development of 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, communication, and creativity, as well as positively affecting learning outcomes. These findings are expected to provide new insights into the use of technology in education, particularly at the elementary school level, and encourage the broader adoption of technology in the learning process in elementary schools.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama dalam penelitianiini adalah untuk melihat tingkat kemampuan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada penerapan praktikum di kelas X di SMA Negeri 6 Kerinci. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis analisis keterampilan proses sains pada penerapan praktikum pada siswa kelas X SMAN 6 Kerinci. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitati dengan pendekatan analisys deskriptif. Adapun subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas X SMAN 6 Kerinci yang berjumlah 160 siswa.Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa keterampilan prosesisains pada penerapan metode praktikumiBiologi pada siswa kelas X SMAN 6 Kerinci dapat dikelompokkan pada sebanyak 15,41% siswa dengan kemampuan prosesisains dengan kriteria sangat tinggi, sebanyak 61,40% dengan kemampuan proses sains dengan kriteria tinggi, sebanyak 19,82% dengan kemampuan proses sains dengan kriteria cukup tinggi, sebanyak 4,41% dengan kemampuan proses sains dengan kriteria rendah, dan sebanyak 0,80% dengan kemampuan proses sains dengan kriteria sangat rendah. Sedangkan beberapa indikator keterampilaniproses sains siswa kelas X SMAN 6 Kerinci yang tertinggi terdapatpada indikator mengkomunikasiihasil praktikumidi depan kelas sebesar 66,9%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran dan manfaat permainan tradisional dalam mengembangkan karakter anak terhadap nilai-nilai kehidupan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kajian literatur dengan pendekatan kualitatif, mengumpulkan data dari berbagai artikel nasional dan internasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permainan tradisional tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai media pembelajaran yang efektif dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai kehidupan seperti kejujuran, sportivitas, disiplin, kerja sama, dan tanggung jawab. Selain itu, permainan tradisional juga mampu meningkatkan kemampuan motorik, mengasah kreativitas, dan memperkuat hubungan sosial anak yang mulai berkurang akibat pengaruh permainan digital. Kesimpulannya, Permainan tradisional berperan penting dalam mengembangkan karakter anak terhadap nilai-nilai kehidupan, terutama dalam aspek sosial, emosional, dan motorik. Studi menunjukkan bahwa anak yang aktif bermain permainan tradisional lebih mudah menerapkan nilai-nilai kehidupan seperti kejujuran, disiplin, sportivitas, kolaborasi dan tanggung jawab dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Permainan tradisional perlu terus dilestarikan karena memberikan kontribusi besar dalam membangun karakter anak sekaligus menjaga kekayaan budaya bangsa di tengah perkembangan zaman.   The role of traditional games in building life values: A child character education perspective   Abstract: This research aims to analyze the role and benefits of traditional games in developing children's character towards life values. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative approach, collecting data from various national and international articles. The results of the study show that traditional games not only function as entertainment, but also as an effective learning medium in instilling life values such as honesty, sportsmanship, discipline, cooperation, and responsibility. In addition, traditional games are also able to improve motor skills, hone creativity, and strengthen children's social relationships, which are starting to decrease due to the influence of digital games. In conclusion, traditional games play an important role in developing children's character towards life values, especially in social, emotional, and motor aspects. Studies show that children who actively play traditional games are more likely to apply life values such as honesty, discipline, sportsmanship, collaboration, and responsibility in daily life. Traditional games need to be preserved because they make a great contribution to building children's character while maintaining the nation's cultural wealth in the midst of these times.

Abstract

Di Indonesia lansia yang mengalami depresi mencapai 23.4%, sebagian besar mereka yang tinggal di panti. Hal tersebut dikarenakan perasaan bosan dan kesepian. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan dukungan sosial dari teman-temannya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan tingkat depresi pada lansia di Griya Lansia Ciparay Kabupaten Bandung. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif korelasi dengan rancangan cross-sectional. 68 responden diambil sebagai sample dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan Geriatric Depression Scale Short Form untuk mengukur tingkat depresi. Hasil analisis univariat menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar (52,9%) dukungan sosial teman sebaya termasuk kategori kurang. Dari empat domain dukungan (informasional, instrumental, emosional dan persahabatan) sebagian besar lansia ( 63,2%) dan 58,8% melaporkan dukungan informational dan persahabatan yang kurang Sedangkan berdasarkan tingkat depresi 20.6% lansia menderita depresi ringan sisanya adalah normal Berdasarkan analisis rank spearman menunjukkan p-value sebesar 0,031 < α (0,05), artinya terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan tingkat depresi lansia. Nilai r = -0,261 menunjukkan tingkat keeratan cukup. Disarankan kepada pengurus panti untuk lebih meningkatkan yaitu dinamika aktivitas kelompok pada lansia.
