Abstract

In the research conducted by Thompson et al (2022), there were research limitations in the use of language during the systematic review search process and the time limit criteria were quite long. Considering the many models in sports governance that have been proposed by academics, this research systematically reviews models in sports governance. Research methods: The method used in this research is a systematic literature review. The steps of a systematic literature review consist of review questions, inclusion criteria, search strategy, selection and assessment, extraction, and synthesis. Results and Findings: In total, there are 30 articles spanning the last 3 years which were used as the main source for this research. The results and findings in this research are still in the form of hypotheses, overall a sports governance model that is transparent, accountable, and democratic is found. Implications: The findings obtained highlight the systematic nature of sports governance. In the sports governance process, academics and practitioners have different points of view when implementing it, which causes academics and practitioners to be incompatible. For this reason, researchers in future studies can use a stronger, evidence-based sports governance model so that practitioners can understand it in more detail.

Abstract

Many things can influence the growth and development of teenagers, in this case young people, one of which is in the world of sports. Among them are sports programs that can make changes to the characteristics of youth development for the better, both physically and mentally for themselves or even their social environment. In this effort, the world of sports can be one way to make youth development in a more positive direction. The aim of the research here is focused on comparing the results of journals and articles that the author obtained with the keywords sports program physical education literature review, systematic literature review and positive youth development. This journal search was based on search results on Google Scholar and Taylor Francis, researchers found 5,657 journals that matched these keywords. A total of 418 journals were found to match these keywords exactly, then screening was carried out and 197 journals were found to be excluded because they had the same title and no full text articles were available and 221 journals were produced for abstract screening and the results obtained were 76 journals. 44 journals that were duplicates and did not meet the inclusion criteria were excluded so that 20 full text journals were reviewed. Because this research could not be carried out in the field during the Covid-19 pandemic, a narrative literature review method was carried out using data from 5657 journals that were initially found. Based on the results of the research analysis and the implications of the analysis, there is an influence of sports programs to promote positive youth development in the world of sports. So it is hoped that in the future we will be able to explore other factors that can influence or encourage positive development in young people. and be able to explain more fully the benefits of positive youth development programs.

Abstract

There are several factors that lead to increased sports participation, such as sports facilities and socio-economic conditions. However, these factors have not been able to be optimized properly considering the relatively low sports participation in Indonesia. Thus, this study focuses on studies to determine the relationship between the availability of sports facilities and socio-economic conditions with the community participation rate in sports. The data used is secondary data obtained from the official website of the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), namely www.bps.go.id. The variables in this study are sports facilities, household expenditure for food needs, good road conditions, school participation status and internet access. This study used the ex post facto method and was processed using SPSS version 25 software using Multiple Regression Analysis. The results showed that 70 percent of the diversity of the community participation variables in sports could be explained by the variable availability of facilities and socio-economic conditions, while the remaining 30 percent was by variables outside the model. In addition, the F value in the Anova table shows a number α = 0.05, so it can be concluded that simultaneously the influence model between the availability of sports facilities and socio-economic conditions on sports participation is statistically significant. Partially, each variable included in the model also has a statistically significant effect, except for the variable school participation status. This research is expected to be used as a reference for policy makers in planning development and designing sports policies, especially in increasing sports participation in Indonesian.

Abstract

The development of fundamental motor skills (FMS) is crucial and should begin in early childhood. As of now, several early childhood educators in Indonesia, particularly in West Java, think that incorporating playground games into the classroom curriculum is the best course of action for raising children’s FMS. This study aimed to present statistics on FMS findings for early childhood who have incorporated physical activity into the curriculum and to demonstrate that these results are still in conflict with teachers’ beliefs. Ex post facto research was applied to one of the early childhood education pilot programs in West Java, Indonesia, including a total of 30 kids. This school’s long-standing intervention involves giving children 30 minutes of structured playtime and 30 minutes of unstructured playtime at the start of each learning period. The Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (TGMD-2) was used to measure FMS. The study’s findings showed that both boys’ and girls’ FMS in both locomotor and manipulating components of the movement were very lacking and inversely proportional to teachers’ belief who believe that this activity will improve children’s motor skills. It is recommended that physical education specialists accompany both structured and unstructured play programs conducted on school playgrounds so that the early childhood education curriculum's programs are properly validated to raise children's FMS following Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP).

Abstract

In recent years, sport has been seen not only as a means of health, achievement, and industry. More than that sport is considered as a means of developing the whole person. Developing life skills through sports has recently emerged as a study that has been extensively studied in various countries. In Indonesia, studies regarding the development of life skills through sports are still few. This study aims to scientifically reveal the study of life skills through sports in Indonesia through a systematic literature review. Article searches are limited to publications in sports journals in Indonesia over the past 10 years. A total of 18 articles have been found for analysis. The results of the study found 18 articles for further study. The focus of life skills research in Indonesia is more towards life skills improvement programs carried out through coaches for athletes or physical education teachers on school students. It is hoped that further research can expand the focus of studies related to the development of life skills in sports with various research methods to develop improvement programs, measurements, and concepts of life skills in sports
