Abstract

The general objective of this paper is to analyze the financial performance of non-creditmicro and small enterprises (MSE) in Kampar regency. Specifically aimed to analyzethe financial performance of non-credit MSE of non-agricultural and agro-industrysectors compared with MSE non-agricultural sectors. The analysis of financial ratiosand analysis of economic value added are used. The main findings showed that: First,the financial performance of MSE in Kampar regency, both MSE non-agriculturalsectors and MSE agricultural and agro-industry sectors, which were analyzed using anumber of indicators and financial ratios economic value added indicates goodconditions. This is reflected from the calculation of their financial ratios and economicvalue added that indicates a value above the industry average. Second, the financialperformance of the aspects of liquidity and shows the activity of MSE non-agriculturalsectors are better than MSE agricultural and agro-industry sectors. While theprofitability aspect of MSE non-agricultural sectors are better than MSE agriculturaland agro-industry sectors. And third, either before tax or after tax, economic valueadded of MSE non-agricultural and agro-industry sectors are greater than MSE non-agricultural sectors. This reflects that MSE agricultural and agro-industry sectors havesubstantial opportunities to obtain income and improve their welfare as compared withMSE non-agricultural sectors. Therefore, in order to improve the financial performanceof MSE need to do the training and guidance from relevant agencies. Next to open andincrease access to MSE to formal financial institutions, need to apply the policydirection of government and formal financial institutions are more aligned to MSE. Inreal terms the policy in question is to reduce the number of requirements and simplifyprocedures in lending to MSE.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know how the structure of income, consumption patterns and welfare and know the dominant factors that affect the pattern of household consumption of vegetable farmers in Siak District. The purpose of this study will be answered by analyzing the income structure, logistic regression method and poverty line approach. Based on the results of the analysis obtained the largest source of income comes from work income is vegetable farming. For the consumption of household expenditures, the largest expenditure made for non-food needs is greater than food expenditure. This indicates that households of vegetable farmer in Siak Regency are classified as prosperous. The dominant factors affecting the consumption pattern of household food of vegetable farmers are income, the number of family members and health investment. Thus, to improve the prosperity of households of vegetable farmers, it is necessary to increase household income by improving cultivation techniques and increasing farmers' selling price and knowledge. Besides that, there should be extension about the importance of education and counseling about family planning program to minimize household food expenditure of vegetable farmers.

Abstract

Kampar Regency is the district with the largest harvest area of vegetable production in RiauProvince. Nevertheless, vegetable production and productivity in Kampar District are fluctuatingwith a downward trend. Inappropriate vegetable cultivation technique in Kampar regency is oneof the factors causing fluctuation of production and it is suspected that vegetable farming is notefficient. The aim of this research was to know production efficiency of vegetable farming inKampar Regency. The analysis method used was descriptive analysis method and DEA (DataEnvelopment Analysis) method. The sample consisted of 31 spinach farmers, 31 water spinachfarmers, 30 cucumber farmers, 42 chili farmers, and 40 peanut farmers. The results of this studyindicated that the vegetable cultivation technique in Kampar Regency has not been conducted inaccordance with the recommendations. The result of production efficiency using DEA showedthat proportion of technically inefficient farmers were quite high. Technical inefficiency wascaused by input expenditure. Proportion of efficient farmers by allocation and economy wererelatively small. Allocative inefficiency was more caused by the combination of incorrect input.Economical inefficiency was mostly caused by farmers who were not efficient by allocation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor internal dan eksternal yangmempengaruhi produksi, alokasi waktu kerja, pendapatan dan pengeluaranrumahtangga petani karet di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Untuk menjawab hal inimaka digunakan pendekatan ekonometrika, yakni membangun model persamaansimultan dengan pendugaan parameter menggunakan metode Two Stage LeastSquare. Temuan utama dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hanya faktor internalrumahtangga petani yang responsif terhadap keputusan ekonomi rumahtangga. Tidakada faktor eksternal yang dimasukkan ke dalam model yang responsif terhadapkeputusan ekonomi rumahtangga petani karet di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi terkaitdengan aspek produksi, alokasi waktu kerja, pendapatan dan pengeluaranrumahtangga petani karet. Dari aspek produksi, tidak ditemukan faktor internalmaupun ekternal yang responsif, namun yang paling besar pengaruhnya adalah jumlahbatang karet produktif. Dari aspek alokasi waktu kerja, faktor internal yang responsifmempengaruhi adalah total curahan kerja petani, curahan kerja keluarga petani didalam usaha dan angkatan kerja rumahtangga petani. Selanjutnya, dari aspekpendapatan rumahtangga petani yang faktor internal yang responsif mempengaruhinyaadalah pendapatan rumahtangga petani di dalam usaha. Terakhir dari aspekpengeluaran rumahtangga petani karet, faktor internal yang mempengaruhinya adalahcurahan kerja di dalam usaha, pendidikan petani, pendidikan istri dan pendapatan totalpetani karet.Kata kunci: faktor internal dan eksternal, keputusan ekonomi rumahtangga, karet.
