Abstract

ABSTRACT A pressure ulcer is skin and tissue damage that occurs due to pressure on the surface so that it interferes with the blood supply to the area. Patients can experience pressure ulcers due to hospitalization (hospital-acquired pressure injury) where there is damage to skin integrity during hospitalization, so health workers need to prevent pressure ulcers in patients. to identify interventions to prevent pressure ulcers in immobilized patients. rapid review by searching for articles in three databases; namely CINAHL, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria in this literature were Adults (18-44 years), published in the last 10 years, English or Indonesian articles, full text, randomized controlled trial, quasi-experimental, cross-sectional, and cohort studies. we found four interventions that could be done to prevent pressure ulcers in immobilized patients; namely protective equipment, massage, topical, and dressings. four interventions have their respective strengths and weaknesses. Researchers recommend a topical olive oil intervention that can be applied in Indonesia with the justification that in addition to preventing the incidence of pressure ulcers, giving olive oil also costs less and is considered affordable.
