Abstract

This research aims to see firsthand how the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum is carried out by Islamic Religious Education teachers at SMPN 7 Bandung, as one of the driving schools as well as the first school at the junior high school level to implement Merdeka Curriculum. Using a qualitative approach and a case study method at SMPN 7 Bandung, which was explored through interviews with three Islamic Religious Education teachers there, the results of this study were then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, so this study resulted So this study resulted in the conclusion that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum by Islamic Religious Education teachers at SMPN 7 Bandung is in accordance with the targets and objectives to be achieved, both by the Islamic Religious Education teachers themselves, by the school, and by the government that formulated the Merdeka Curriculum. This research has implications for the importance of planning the implementation of the Independent Curriculum by analyzing various indicators that influence it. From these implications, this research contributes significantly to finding the fact that careful planning in a curriculum implementation will help Islamic Religious Education teachers in carrying out learning better

Abstract

Pada periode sebelum tahun 1920, banyak berdiri organisasi organisasi-organisasi kepemudaan di Indonesia, berdirinya organisasi kepemudaan ini diawali oleh Tri Koro Dharmo pada 1915 yang kemudian akan merubah namanya menjadi Jong Java. Pendirian Jong Java akan menginspirasi berdirinya organisasi pemuda di daerah lain seperti Sumatera, Ambon, Minahasa, dan sebagainya. Organisasi kepemudaan pada masa itu masih bersifat kedaerahan, hingga pada 1924 Jong Islamieten Bond dibentuk atas gagasan dari Raden Sjamsoeridjal yang sebelumnya merupakan ketua Jong Java. Jong Islamieten Bond memberikan warna baru dalam pergerakan pemuda Indonesia. Pada penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif, Metode ini melibatkan analisis naratif, penelusuran pola, dan interpretasi terhadap data yang diperoleh dari observasi dan bahan tertulis. Penelitian ini ditempuh dengan pengumpulan sumber sejarah yang akan digunakan, kemudian penulis menganalisis data yang terdapat dalam sumber dan mengumpulkan data yang selaras dengan judul penelitian yang penulis angkat, setelah data tersebut dikumpulkan penulis menuangkannya dalam bentuk deskriptif.

Abstract

Era Society 5.0 succeeded in coloring the world of Islamic education in Indonesia. The world of Islamic education is experiencing a digital transformation that brings real changes to people's paradigms and behavior. This study uses a type of qualitative research with the method of literature (library research). The results of the study found that the educational ideas formulated by al-Zarnuji were related to educational goals, curriculum, teachers, students, and learning methods. Al-Zarnuji's Islamic educational thinking is still relevant to be applied in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

This study aimsed to explore the fundamental problems encountered by teachers in teaching the Qur’an and to analyze these problematics through an integrative theoretical perspective. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with ten Islamic Religious Education teachers from elementary, junior high, and senior high schools in Bandung, Indonesia. The findings reveal several persistented problematics, including limited instructional time, students’ low initial ability to read the Qur’an, minimal parental involvement, heterogeneous student backgrounds, as well as weak student motivation and self-confidence. These problematics indicated that Qur’anic learning is influenced not only by classroom pedagogy but also by broader environmental, social, and psychological factors. Drawing on Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory, Bandura’s Social Learning Theory, and Self-Determination Theory, this study demonstrated that difficulties in Qur’anic learning emerge from complex interactions among family environments, social modeling processes, and students’ basic psychological needs. The implications of this study emphasized the need for holistic and ecosystem-based instructional strategies that strengthen home–school collaboration, provide observable role models, and support students’ motivation and self-confidence in learning the Qur’an. These findings offered valuable insights for teachers, school leaders, and policymakers in improving the quality of Qur’anic instruction in formal education

Abstract

The disparity between functional literacy skills and the internalization of Quranic values among Generation Z students presents a critical challenge for Islamic education in the digital era. This study aims to identify and map the comprehensive strategies implemented by Islamic Senior High Schools (Madrasah Aliyah) in transforming students with low baseline proficiency into individuals embodying the character of Sahabat Al-Qur'an (Companions of the Quran). Utilizing a qualitative multi-site case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation across ten different schools. The analysis reveals that these schools do not rely on monolithic approaches but rather apply a Hybrid Strategy Typology comprising three dimensions: (1) Structural-Disciplinary Strategy, which utilizes strict regulations and parental involvement to enforce initial habituation; (2) Humanist-Exemplary Strategy, which fosters intrinsic motivation through teacher role-modeling and emotional bonding; and (3) Cultural-Environmental Strategy, which engineers physical and digital ecosystems. Significant findings indicate a strategic polarization regarding technology, where some schools adopt a Digital Detox while others pursue Digital Utilization through reflective media analysis. The study concludes that effective character formation requires the simultaneous orchestration of external discipline, psychological support, and adaptive environmental engineering, signaling the need for a shift from teacher-centered instruction toward activity centered student engagement. Abstrak Kesenjangan antara kemampuan literasi fungsional dan internalisasi nilai-nilai Al-Qur'an di kalangan siswa Generasi Z menghadirkan tantangan kritis bagi pendidikan Islam di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan memetakan strategi komprehensif yang diterapkan oleh Madrasah Aliyah dalam mentransformasi siswa dengan kemampuan dasar rendah menjadi individu yang berkarakter Sahabat Al-Qur'an. Menggunakan desain studi kasus multi-situs kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi di sepuluh Madrasah Aliyah yang berbeda. Analisis data mengungkapkan bahwa sekolah tidak bergantung pada pendekatan monolitik, melainkan menerapkan Tipologi Strategi Hibrida yang terdiri dari tiga dimensi: (1) Structural-Disciplinary Strategy, yang menggunakan regulasi ketat dan pelibatan orang tua untuk memaksakan pembiasaan awal; (2) Humanist-Exemplary Strategy, yang menumbuhkan motivasi intrinsik melalui keteladanan guru dan ikatan emosional; dan (3) Cultural-Environmental Strategy, yang merekayasa ekosistem fisik dan digital. Temuan signifikan menunjukkan adanya polarisasi strategis terkait teknologi, di mana sebagian sekolah mengadopsi Digital Detox sementara yang lain mengejar Digital Utilization melalui analisis media reflektif. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa pembentukan karakter yang efektif memerlukan orkestrasi simultan antara disiplin eksternal, dukungan psikologis, dan rekayasa lingkungan adaptif, yang menandakan perlunya pergeseran dari instruksi berpusat pada guru menuju keterlibatan siswa yang berpusat pada aktivitas.

Abstract

Qur’an Reading Instruction for Early Childhood: Implementation of the At-Tibyan Method in Improving Children’s Qur’an Reading SkillReading the Qur’an is a fundamental skill for every Muslim; however, in reality, many Muslims even adults still struggle to read the Qur’an correctly and fluently. This issue highlights the importance of introducing Qur’an literacy from an early age, as early childhood represents a crucial period when children easily absorb language and religious knowledge. This study aims to describe the implementation of the At-Tibyan method in Qur’an reading instruction for early childhood students at TAUD SAQU (Tahfidz Al-Qur’an Anak Usia Dini Sahabat Qur’ani) Antapani, Bandung. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students. The findings reveal that the implementation of the At-Tibyan method consists of three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. The planning stage includes defining learning objectives and preparing materials using the At-Tibyan textbook; the implementation stage involves tahajji practice, articulation drills, and direct correction (mubasyarah); while evaluation is conducted through individual reading assessments. Supporting factors include teacher competence and parental involvement, while challenges arise from children’s limited focus and difficulty pronouncing certain Arabic letters. Overall, the At-Tibyan method has proven effective in improving early childhood learners’ Qur’anic reading skills. Abstrak Membaca Al-Qur’an merupakan keterampilan dasar bagi setiap Muslim; namun pada kenyataannya, banyak umat Muslim, bahkan orang dewasa, masih kesulitan membaca Al-Qur’an dengan benar dan lancar. Hal ini menunjukkan pentingnya memperkenalkan literasi Al-Qur’an sejak usia dini, terutama karena masa kanak-kanak merupakan periode penting di mana anak-anak mudah menyerap bahasa dan pengetahuan agama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi metode At-Tibyan dalam pembelajaran membaca Al-Qur’an bagi anak usia dini di TAUD SAQU (Tahfidz Al-Qur’an Anak Usia Dini Sahabat Qur’ani) Antapani, Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi yang melibatkan kepala sekolah, guru, serta peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi metode At-Tibyan terdiri dari tiga tahapan utama: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Tahap perencanaan mencakup penetapan tujuan pembelajaran dan penyusunan materi menggunakan buku ajar At-Tibyan; tahap pelaksanaan meliputi latihan mengeja (tahajji), latihan artikulasi, serta koreksi langsung (mubasyarah); sedangkan tahap evaluasi dilakukan melalui penilaian membaca secara individu. Faktor-faktor yang mendukung keberhasilan metode ini antara lain kompetensi guru dan keterlibatan orang tua, sedangkan tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan fokus anak serta kesulitan dalam melafalkan beberapa huruf Arab tertentu. Secara keseluruhan, metode At-Tibyan terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an pada anak usia dini.

Abstract

The study aims to illustrate and discover how the influence of Arabic uptake on the development of Indonesian now focused on how Indonesian culture is in terms related to death in everyday life. The method used in this study is a literature review using a descriptive qualitative approach. The data sources in this study are books or writings either in writing or on social networks related to research objects including dictionaries Indonesian and other books. The results showed that the influence of Arabic on Indonesian language is quite large. This can be seen from how the use of language in Indonesia that uses a lot of arabic uptake language, one of which is in the ritual of death.
