<![CDATA[Instagram is an online mobile photo and video sharing that can attract students’ attention in the learning process. It is also used to interact and share stories to others directly. Because of this, Instagram is a social media which can be utilized to navigate students to read. This study aims to find out the use of Instagram @gurukumrd to improve students’ reading skills. The Instagram @gurukumrd is chosen as the object of this study because it provides students with reading activities through stories, comments, and opinions. To reach the aim of this study, researchers employed qualitative research with Ethnography method. The data are collected using instruments which are observation sheets and interview guidelines. There are 37 students involved in this study as respondence. Based on the research findings, the Instagram @gurukumrd facilitates students to acquire various vocabulary and grammatical knowledge. In addition, students acquire competencies on how to gain paragraph ideas, topic sentences, and reading comprehension. Through Instagram, students can remember and recognize difficult words. At the end of this, this media facilitates students to read simple paragraphs quickly. Based on the research findings, this study can conclude that the Instagram @gurukumrd can facilitate students to enhance students’ reading skills.]]>

<![CDATA[The research aimed to analyze speaking skill through “English with Lucy” YouTube channel. The research was conduct in the class 11 of SMK Kesehatan Letris Indonesia 2. The method of the research was Quantitative with Pre-experimental study. Writer choose one class as Experimental class. The used purposive sampling technique by choosing 33 participant and conducted pre-test and post-test to gather the writer data. The experimental class was using “English with Lucy” YouTube channel on learning English. The writer lasted for four months and writer compared the results of pre-test and post-test through SPSS 22 to conclude the results of research. The experimental class results would be the conclusion of research as this class used Vlogger Video during the lesson. The highest score of the pre-test was 60. And the highest score of the post-test was 92. There were the differences between pre-test score and post-test score. The value of the df t-value is searched based on n=32 with a range of 0,025. Its df t-value is 25,14. Because the t-test value is higher than the df t-value (25.14 > 1.6956) h1 is accepted and h0 is rejected, so the learning method is successful in improving students’ speaking skill. It means that teaching speaking skill through “English with Lucy” YouTube channel was significant.]]>

<![CDATA[The results of learning English for students in class XI high school are poor, particularly in terms of vocabulary and grammar. It is necessary to have learning media that is expected to improve the results of English learning in order to improve the learning process that has been going on so far. The goal of this study is to see if there is an increase in words and a focus on grammar in XI grade high school students' favorite film media. The author uses media in the form of favorite movie watching to see if there is an effect of favorite movie watching on improving vocabulary and grammar in English. The treatment is carried out by the author in accordance with the theory he has discovered. Because Class XI high school students have an interest in the media of watching favorite movies, Using Media by Watching Favorite Movies was chosen as a method of improving words and grammar. Following the researcher's treatment, it was discovered that giving the Favorite English film to class XI high school students had a significant impact on their ability to increase vocabulary and focus on grammar.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this research was finding that using video can give the students stimulations to learn English especially speaking. Reason why the researcher choose this as the new idea for students because there is so many students whi still cant speak English. This research focus to see the students get a motivation after watching the video and can improve their speaking ability. The video can use while teaching in the class, to see did the students is interesting and get motivate from watching the video from English speeches youtube channel. This researcher using quasi experimental with the pre test, treatment, and post test. The sample on this study were 25 of class 8th Junior High School. To calculate the students score the researcher using manual calculation and the mean results for pre test was 65 and for post test is 79. So there is the difference score between pre tets and post tets, it means using English speeches youtube channel can stimulating and improving students speaking skill.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to find out the effectiveness of the outdoor learning method to improve students' writing skills at senior high schools. The concept of the outdoor learning method in this study adopts collaborative writing learning activities. The learning activities are carried out outside writing classes. The research method is a quantitative method with a Pre-Experimental design using pre-test and post-test design. The instrument in collecting the data uses writing tests. The researcher only used one class of ninth-graders of SMP IT HARAPAN. The sampling technique used was random cluster sampling in which the 9th-grade students as the population participated as the sample. The data were analyzed statistically using a t-test. Based on the analysis results, the average value obtained in the pre-test was 42,22, and the post-test was 76,60. Meanwhile, the score of the t-test was 37,27, and the t-table was 1,706 with a significant 5% (0.05). It means the score of the t-test was greater than the t-table. So, the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted, and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. It can be concluded that Outdoor learning activities can facilitate students to improve their writing skills.]]>

<![CDATA[Language is a tool for people to communicate with structured words and sentence patterns. However, when there is a language there is also a culture that bonds together with language. One of the language that the world use is English. English has a very high demand in every sectors including education sectors. In education sector, English serves as the main subject in EFL countries, one of the EFL countries is Indonesia, and the teaching and learning English activity in Indonesia is still relying on textbook. Textbooks in Indonesia is rarely showing a cultural content which cultural contents in the textbook can be one of the appreciation of preserving a traditional culture. In this research, the author will analyze the discourse that found in a Junior High School level textbook, English on Sky 2 whether there is any Indonesian Cultural Perspective that included within the textbook. This research method will be using a qualitative method with descriptive analysis as the approach of research design.]]>

<![CDATA[The research aimed to increase students’ writing skills on narrative text in English lesson by using Joylada application. The subject of this research was eighth-graders at one of Junior High School in South Tangerang City which considered 40 students. The method of this research was quantitative method with pre-experimental study. The data were collected by giving pre-test and post-test as the instruments. The result of this research showed that there was increasing of student in narrative writing skill. The result was calculated by using t-test. The findings proved that the students in pre-test was 2500 with the mean score 62.5. The lowest score was 48 and the highest score was 75. Meanwhile, in the result of post-test 3336 with a mean 83.4. The lowest score was 75 and the highest score was 95. From the score result, it can be concluded that the higher score was post-test. The results of the t-test calculation showed that t-cal was 17.5 and t-table with degrees of freedom (df) 40 obtained 1.68. The significance value was less than 0.05 and t-cal > t-table. The result can be concluded that the Joylada application can be unique and an alternative for teaching narrative writing skills. The students can increase their narrative writing skills through Joylada application.]]>

<![CDATA[Most of the students' ability to write in English is still poor. Their text contains many errors in content, organization, and use of language. Students find it difficult to explain their ideas in written form, and students lack vocabulary, which can make it difficult to choose words to group into good writing. some teachers still find it difficult to apply media during learning this makes the class atmosphere less lively and makes them bored. the purpose of this research is to find out whether utilizing Spinning Wheel is effective or not in improving students’ writing Procedure Text. The method used in this research is descriptive research. I found a solution by describing the problem qualitatively. The end result is a game that imitates the Spinning Wheel Game while teaching English writing techniques that can increase students' interest, challenge their thinking and enable them to produce procedural texts while playing. The spinning wheel was used after the researcher explained the material about the procedure text. Students are asked to make groups and each group gets a different theme. themes are randomized with spinning wheel games by web wheelofnames.com. Therefore, the game is one of the tools that can be used in learning English, there are many learning media for learning writing skills. One game that can be used is Spinning Wheel. By using games students can learn to write procedure texts in a fun and interesting way. The spinning wheel game can be chosen as a tool for students to write procedure texts correctly and clearly. This game has been evaluated by several researchers and high school students. This game is very helpful in learning to write procedure text. These games can make students challenge their way of thinking, fun and enjoyable.]]>

<![CDATA[This research contains literary learning in the poetry genre entitled Poems on the Life of the Prophet Muhammad by Paul Abdul Wadud Sutherland. This poem has the moral education value of Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiahan which is the main focus of this research because moral values is one of the basic foundations of human nature which is closely related to human behavior with God. This research aims to obtain a deep understanding of moral values in the form of divine values and human values from the collection of poems Poems on the Life of the Prophet Muhammad by Paul Abdul Wadud Sutherland. This research uses a qualitative method and content analysis design. The research finding showed that Shutherland’s Poems on the Life of the Prophet Muhammad contained the Islamic moral education values namely illahiyah values and insaniyah values that can be good examples for students’ daily life. ]]>

<![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai patriotisme yang direfleksikan pada tokoh Paraji persalinan di Kecamatan Pameungpeuk. Garut Selatan, Jawa Barat. Tradisi perawatan kesehatan ibu dan bayi dengan bantuan paraji telah dilakukan secara turun temurun hingga saat ini di daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten. Paraji merupakan tokoh penting dalam praktik perawatan kesehatan ibu dan bayi secara tradisional bagi masyarakat Sunda.Meskipun kemajuan teknologi medis telah berkembang pesat dan pusat-pusat layanan kesehatan modern terus berkembang di daerah-daerah baik di Jawa Barat maupun Banten, namun keberadaan praktik paraji dalam perawatan kesehatan ibu dan bayi masih bertahan di beberapa daerah di Jawa Barat dan Banten. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif pada nilai-nilai patriotisme. Data berupa hasil pengamatan, wawancara dan dokumentasi dengan paraji di Pameungpeuk, Garut Selatan, Jawa Barat. Dalam objek yang dikaji, dikumpulkan juga dengan teknik studi Pustaka. Data kemudian diklasifikasikan, diinterpretasi dan dianalisis dengan landasan teoritis yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh paraji perempuan merepresentasikan 1) nilai patriotism dalam konsep moral humanis yakni memupuk rasa kebersamaan dan keperdulian sosial, 2) nilai patriotisme kultural yakni saling tolong menolong dan religiusitas berbasis nilai-nilai islam dan 3) nilai patriotisme berbasis kepribadian yakni rela berkorban, kesetiaan dan berbudi pekerti. Dengan demikian, diharapkan nilai-nilai yang melekat pada tokoh paraji persalinan dapat menjadi cerminan praktik baik dalam menolong sesama.]]>
