Abstract

Global warming is becoming increasingly apprehensive day by day, marked by the continued increase in levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) in nature. One of the efforts made to reduce the effects of global warming is biosequestration by empowering photosynthetic organisms, one of which is seagrass beds. This study aims to measure the density and percentage of seagrass cover, biomass value, and estimate carbon storage in seagrass biomass in the form of tissue at the top (leaves and upright stems) and tissue at the bottom (roots and rhizomes), as well as estimate carbon storage in sediments. Sampling was carried out using line transect and quadrant plot methods at each station. Calculation seagrass carbon storage using the Loss of Ignition (LOI) method at the Soil Chemistry Laboratory of the Pangkep State Agricultural Polytechnic, a total of 5 species of seagrass were found, namely Enhalus accoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Halodule uninervis, Halopila ovalis, and Cymodocea rotundata. The average seagrass carbon storage on Badi Island is 18.92 gC/m2, or 0.189 MgC/ha. The species that act as the largest contributor to carbon storage are Cymodocea rotundata, namely 35.44 gC/m2, and Halopila ovalis, which acts as the lowest contributor to carbon storage, namely 1.92 gC/m2. The average seagrass carbon storage at the bottom of the substrate was three times greater than that at the top of the substrate, namely 14.10 gC/m2 at the bottom and 4.82 gC/m2 at the top. The average carbon storage in sediments is 10.98 gC/m2, or 0.109 MgC/ha.

Abstract

Abstract

Segmentation of yellow fish egg spheres in digital images often fails due to the difficulty of determining the boundaries between adjacent or overlapping objects. This research proposes a geometry tracking-based segmentation method to solve the problem. This method uses triangulation of three important edge points around the object to determine the initial segment landmarks. Then, it uses their formation to form a complete circle of candidate segments. The set of pixels enveloped by this circle will be examined for shape and colour to be recognised as segments of an object or not. The method was tested on a fish egg image dataset containing more than 5,473 yellow-orange coloured fish egg spheres in 11 digital images. These egg sphere images vary in size, shape, brightness, contrast, density, shadow, noise, light reflection, and blur. Based on the experimental results, the method was able to correctly segment 4,370 egg spheres with 242 false segments and 1,103 undetected spheres. The performance metrics of this method are precision 94.7%, recall 79.8%, IoU 76.5%, and dice coefficient 86.7%.

Abstract

Pemaparan dilakukanselama 96 jam.

Abstract

As a filter feeder, windowpane oyster, Placuna placenta, which lives as a sedentary animal is very appropriate to be used as an eco-sentinel organism in marine bio-monitoring campaign.  The study of lead (Pb) content in the tissue and shell of P. placenta was conducted in coastal waters of Mandalle, Pangkajene Kepulauan District, South Sulawesi.  A hundred of oysters were collected from coastal waters of Mandalle.  Morphometry parameters which were length, high, width, and dry weight of tissue were measured in the laboratory.  Those parameters were used for determination of Condition Index (CI).  Metal was analyzed by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry.  The results showed that the contents of Pb in tissue and shell were 0.021 and 0.014 mg/kg DW (dry weight) respectively.  The concentration of Pb in tissue was not overreach by BPOM 2009 Number Hk.00.06.1.52.4011 of 1.5 mg / kg DW (dry weight).  After calculating Maximum Tolerable Intake (MTI), we found that MTI was 7.79 kg/day.  In terms of marine monitoring campaign, we can theoretically use the CI as a morphological biomarker.  After calculating the relationship between Pb in tissue and shell, we found that the value of CI was not correlated significantly with Pb content in tissue and shell.  However, the correlation coefficient between Pb in tissue and CI was stronger than that in the shell.  The potential of CI of windowpane oyster as a morphological biomarker was discussed. Keywords: Placuna placenta, lead, MTI, morphological biomarker

Abstract

In conducting a Notary position, the Notary is required to be able to know the responsibilities and authority of the Notary in performing his/her position in accordance with the Notary Position Law. One of them is the authority of the Notary in Law Number 30 of 2004 concerning the Notary Position jo Law Number 2 of 2014 in Article 15 paragraph 2 letters a and b "Notaries are also authorized: to certify signatures and determine the certainty of the date of letters under hands by registering in a special book; book letters under hands by registering in a special book;" But in the current era, Waarmerking has become a loophole for a Notary to be guilty. Therefore, this research will discuss the extent of the Notary's responsibility for letters under the hand registered in the Notary's special book. This research uses normative legal research methods, data sources come from positive law, laws and books. The results show that in addition to being authorized to make authentic deeds, notaries are also authorized only to register letters under the hands registered in a special book.

Abstract

Highlight Research 1. Microplastics were counted and identified based on their shape, size, and color 2. The particles were clarified using FTIR and confirmed to be microplastics based on the type of polymer. 3. The tissue destruction method is more effective with heating treatment. 4. Methods to prevent contamination are implemented so that the research results are guaranteed to be accurate. Abstract Microplastics can be ingested by marine organisms, including fish. Although it has been widely reported, further information regarding microplastic contamination in commercial fish is still needed. This study aimed to analyze the presence and concentration of microplastics in the digestive tract of the mackerel R. kanaguarta and red snapper L. gibbus and to identify the shape, size, color, and type of microplastic polymer. Digestion of the organic materials was performed using a 10% KOH solution, which was then filtered using a vacuum filtration system. The particles were observed using an Olympus microscope and clarified using FTIR. The results of the research showed that R. kanaguarta and L. gibbus landed at the Beba Fish Landing Base (PPI Beba) Takalar were contaminated with microplastics with a microplastic concentration in R. kanaguarta 0.21 ± 0.06 particles/g and L. gibbus 0.11 ± 0.04 particles/g. The microplastics found were fiber and fragment of varying colors, such as black, white, red, and yellow. The size of microplastics was dominant in the size class < 2 mm. The FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of polypropylene (PP), Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Nylon, Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and polyester (PES). This study showed that both commercial fish species were contaminated with microplastics. These findings suggest that microplastics are widespread and contaminate commercial fish caught from Takalar waters. Further research is still needed on other seafood from this region, and analysis of polymer types such as FTIR is important to carry out as one of the standard methods in microplastic research.
