Abstract

This study aims to identify how the process of critical thinking of prospective teachers in solving mathematical problems in the Department of Mathematics Education, Faculty of Science and Technology, Walisongo State Islamic University, is viewed from a qualitative learning style. The purposive sampling method was used to determine six prospective teachers as research subjects. Each visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning style is represented by 2 subjects. The auxiliary instruments in this study consisted of a learning style questionnaire, a critical thinking ability test, and an interview guide. Critical thinking indicators were developed through consideration of the main elements of FRISCO, the level of cognitive thinking according to Bloom and the Steps of Problem Solving According to John Dewey. Data processing through the stages of data collection, data reduction, and data verification with the triangulation method. The results of the study show that auditory and kinesthetic learning styles have lower critical thinking process characteristics than visual learning styles in solving math problems. From the interview process it was revealed that the ability to argue based on valid and logical facts, all types of learning styles is still quite low. However, all three have strong potential to develop critical thinking skills through stimulation from educators.

Abstract

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company that produces palm oil (CPO). In order to maintain the quality of sales, PT XYZ must be able to maintain the quality of what is stored in a storage tank called the Oil Storage Tank (OST). The aim of this research is to identify and analyze the factors that cause mutual problems in the quality of the bottom of the Oil Storage Tank (OST) and the most important thing is to reduce the pile of sludge that occurs due to the deposition process which cannot be recycled, thus causing a loss in the amount recorded in actually in the field when the Oil Storage Tank (OST) is washed. The more sludge deposits at the bottom of the tank, the higher the potential loss for the company. This research uses the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) method which based on the results of this research can reveal the impact of modifying the inlet pipe on the Oil Storage Tank (OST) on reducing the accumulation of sludge at the bottom of the Oil Storage Tank (OST) tank. The modification involves moving the pipe outlet to the middle of the bottom of the tank so that the sludge is distributed more evenly and makes it easier to suction when recycling it back to the processing process. As a result, the accumulation of sludge was reduced quite significantly from data from washing results in March 2023 of 23,430 kg and washing in January 2024 to 7,300 kg with a shelf life and total production of CPO (crude palm oil) stored in the Oil Storage Tank of around 20 thousand tons. over a period of 9 months.

Abstract

The PUHA (Pop Up Horses Algebra) game is developed for enhancing mathematics learning in Grade 7 algebra. This research aims to create interactive games that are not only engaging but also effective in facilitating students' comprehension of algebraic concepts in an enjoyable manner. Employing the ADDIE Model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) as a developmental framework, this study endeavors to ensure the systematic and structured creation of PUHA. The findings underscore that the development of PUHA games significantly enhances students' grasp of algebraic principles at the Grade 7 level. Utilizing the ADDIE Model for PUHA game development ensures a methodical approach, guaranteeing the production of high-quality and impactful educational games. In conclusion, the development of the PUHA game utilizing the ADDIE Model showcases a promising approach to fostering students' algebraic understanding in Grade 7 through engaging and effective educational gaming experiences.

Abstract

supported deep learning approaches in improving the teaching performance of junior high school teachers. With the increasing demand for 21st-century teaching competencies, there is a need for innovative instructional strategies that enhance teacher effectiveness and engagement. A quantitative quasi-experimental method was employed, involving pre-tests and post-tests administered to both control and experimental groups. The study involved 64 junior high school teachers across science and social studies subjects. Teaching performance was assessed using structured observation and evaluation tools covering lesson planning, implementation, and assessment practices. Data analysis was conducted using t-tests and normalized gain (n-gain) scores. The findings demonstrated that the teachers in the experimental group—who utilized AI-supported deep learning approaches—showed significantly greater improvement in teaching performance compared to the control group. The intervention was classified as “effective” in fostering meaningful, interactive, and future-ready instructional practices. The study concludes that integrating AI-supported deep learning strategies can substantially enhance teaching quality. It is recommended that educational institutions incorporate these approaches into ongoing professional development initiatives to better prepare teachers for modern educational demands. The findings demonstrated that the teachers in the experimental group showed significantly greater improvement in teaching performance.
