Abstract

Seaweed is among fishery commodities with great potential economy prospect. Southeast Maluku District is one of the main producers in Eastern region of Indonesia. Despite the high production since 2012, the number of farmers and the product has declined due to inadequate supply chain coordination and information dissemination among members. Therefore, this study aimed to mitigate the assymetric information in the region using the house of risk (HOR) to identify the risks to be addressed, and also provide response on the source of supply chain risk. Furthermore, Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) with fuzzy approach was used to determine the major factor, and then choose the best alternative to mitigate asymmetric information in the supply chain. Results showed there were five factors that contributed 70% risks. The results also indicated that dependence on local distributor was a factor that had to be prioritized and addressed. In addition, to mitigate the operational risks, findings showed it is necessary to establish seaweed farmers forum, which is the best approach based on the cost and effectiveness. This study also stated that local ,government of Southeast Maluku District was the main actor that helps to overcome the risks and asymmetric information problem. Therefore, the best alternative was to form an information center for seaweed cultivation, which will provide the knowledge of prices and potential buyer outside the region.

Abstract

Individual expert selection and ranking is a challenging research topic that has received a lot attention in recent years because of its importance related to referencing experts in particular domains and research fund allocation and management. In this work, scientific articles were used as the most common source for ranking expertise in particular domains. Previous studies only considered title and abstract content using language modeling. This study used the whole content of scientific documents obtained from Aminer citation data. The modified weighted language model (MWLM) is proposed that combines document length and number of citations as prior document probability to improve precision. Also, the author's dominance in a single document is computed using the Learning-to-Rank (L2R) method. The evaluation results using p@n, MAP, MRR, r-prec, and bpref showed a precision enhancement. MWLM improved the weighted language model (WLM) by p@n (4%), MAP (22.5%), and bpref (1.7%). MWLM also improved the precision of a model that used author dominance by MAP (4.3%), r-prec (8.2%), and bpref (2.1%).

Abstract

Conventional credit scoring model could lead to serious and unfair problems because in certain case it would incriminate one party in financing. Islamic financing scoring model complies with Sharia rules and ensures fairness among parties. Currently, there are no certain rules on Islamic financing scoring model which lead to subjective judgments. In the subjective judgments, words could mean different things to different people. Thus, this paper proposed and deployed models for scoring of default risk level by using Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Set model to support the subjective judgments in maintaining Sharia rules. Installment amount and the sum of delay period has used as variables for that scoring. Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Set model was proposed to support the subjective judgments in maintaining Sharia rules. Beginning delay period also used as a weight to the risk scoring results. Besides that, this paper also proposed the method for computing real loss value. It has used as a basis for fines computation according to default risk level, bad debt expense, and installment weighted average.

Abstract

Gold is another kind of investment that often experiences price change, mostly every day. Because of its price fluctuation, forecasting is needed to help the investor in investment decision making. But during this Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19), the gold price is fluctuating extremely than the past 4 years so a better forecasting method approached and analysis technique is needed due to this case. Double Exponential Smoothing method is chosen to forecast this daily gold price. On the other hand, there are so many missing values spreading around the main dataset so the imputation method is needed too, Last Observation Carried Forward (LOCF) and linear interpolation are chosen for imputing the missing values. In this research, the main dataset was split into 3 (three) datasets, which are Precovid-19 (before Covid-19, used only for visualizing the actual fluctuation condition during this pandemic), Incovid-19 (during Covid-19 based on the date where the first Covid-19 case occurred in Indonesia), and Combination (a binding dataset of Pracovid-19 and Incovid-19). Although Incovid-19’s MAPE value is higher than Pracovid-19 and Combination’s MAPE values, in evaluation session showed that Incovid-19’s MAPE of forecast results has the lowest value rather than Combination’s MAPE of forecast results, so the conclusion of this research is Incovid-19 dataset with LOCF imputation is the most adaptive with the actual condition and it is used to forecast the daily gold price until the last period of the main dataset then.
