Abstract

Ventilasi Sterculia macrophylla. merupakan salah satu tanaman yang mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan. Komponen utama dari genus Sterculia adalah fenol dan flavonoid. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui fraksi ekstrak metanol daun Sterculia macrophylla Vent. manakah yang mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan dan nilai IC50 aktivitas antioksidan pada fraksi ekstrak metanol Sterculia macrophylla Vent. daun-daun. Simplisia diekstraksi secara bertahap dengan pelarut n-heksana, etil asetat dan metanol. Ekstrak yang paling aktif adalah ekstrak metanol. Ekstrak metanol ini difraksinasi menggunakan kromatografi kolom, hasil fraksi tersebut kemudian dikelompokkan dan selanjutnya dianalisis senyawa yang berpotensi memiliki aktivitas antioksidan pada fraksi tersebut menggunakan KLT Bioautografi, dan ditentukan aktivitas antioksidannya dengan metode DPPH. Pada metode DPPH diperoleh nilai IC50 fraksi terbaik yaitu pada fraksi 3 dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 87,67 μg/ml dan fraksi 4 dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 77,40 μg/ml, sedangkan pada F3.3 nilai IC50 sebesar 173,21 μg /ml diperoleh. Hal ini menunjukkan nilai IC50 fraksi tersebut lebih tinggi dibandingkan querstin yang mempunyai nilai IC50 sebesar 4,19 μg/ml. Kandungan total fenol pada kelompok fraksi daun Sterculia macrophylla Vent. pada F1 sebanyak 45,253 mgGAE/g, pada F2 diperoleh sebanyak 59,668 mgGAE/g dan pada F3 diperoleh sebanyak 71,605 mgGAE/g. Fraksi flavonoid total ekstrak metanol daun Sterculia macrophylla pada F1 memperoleh hasil sebesar 9,8945 mgQE/g sampel, F2 memperoleh hasil sebesar 6,4042 mgQE/g sampel, F3 memperoleh hasil sebesar 6,6883 mgQE/g sampel.

Abstract

Red spinach leaf (Amaranthus tricolor L.) has been well-proven to contain flavonoids that exhibit antioxidant activities. In this study, a comparison between maceration and ultrasonic methods has been carried out to evaluate the effect of these two methods on the level of red spinach leaf flavonoid. In this study, for maceration 1, 2, and 3 days while for the ultrasonic method 10-, 20-, and 30-minutes time duration have been used. The ratios of material and solvent were 1:5 and 1:10. The flavonoid content was determined with the help of a spectrophotometer at a maximum wavelength of 436.80 nm. The antioxidant activity was evaluated by the DPPH method to obtain the IC50. The result of the study revealed that the highest flavonoid content of 4.27 mgQE/g and antioxidant activity (IC50) of 110.47 ppm were obtained by an ultrasonic under conditions of 1:10 ratio and 30-minute extraction time. Results of the study suggested a significant difference (p<0,05) in the isolation of total flavonoid contents and antioxidant activities in the maceration and ultrasonic. In these two methods, ultrasonic was found to be more efficient than maceration because of minimum time, the highest flavonoid content and antioxidant activity could be obtained.

Abstract

National data shows the prevalence of coronary heart disease is 3,6%. The prevalence of dyslipidemia is around 35,9%. Dyslipidemia has a causal relationship with cardiovascular disease. Based on previous research, 70% ethanolic extract of Ridge Gourd has been shown to have antihyperlipidemic activity. This study aimed to study the activity of 70% ethanolic extract fraction of Ridge Gourd in decreasing the levels of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), and triglycerides in hyperlipidemic hamsters. A total of 32 hamster were divided into 8 groups. Negative control, normal control, positive control (using atorvastatin dose 1,24 mg/kg body weight), positive control (fenofibrate dose 12,35 mg/kg body weight), ethyl acetate fraction, n-hexane fraction, water fraction (fraction doses 36,75 mg/kg body weight), and ethanol extract group (extract dose of 240 mg/kg body weight). The results showed that fraction group (n-hexane, ethyl acetate, water) and ethanol extract group experienced a decrease in total cholesterol, LDL-C, and triglycerides levels. Statistical analysis with one-way ANOVA showed an effect on the treatment given (p = 0,005). Tukey's test showed that ethyl acetate fraction group had an effect comparable to positive control with a decrease in total cholesterol, LDL-C, and triglycerides level by 56,03%, 52,14%, and 59,51% consecutively. Ethyl acetate fraction (doses 36,75 mg/kg body weight) was the most effective fraction in reducing total cholesterol, LDL-C, and triglycerides.

Abstract

Rational drug use is a crucial aspect of medication management that requires a thorough understanding to ensure that treatment regimens are appropriately tailored to meet the individual needs of patients, administered within the correct timeframes, and remain affordable. When drug use is irrational, it can result in serious health consequences such as organ damage, the development of drug resistance, and in severe cases, even death. To address this, it is vital to enhance awareness about the importance of rational drug use and its benefits. In Tok Kassim Village, several health services were provided, including comprehensive blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol checks, as well as interactive discussions and a question-and-answer session with the local residents. These activities revealed that the average villager uses medication to manage cholesterol levels, hypertension, and blood sugar. The interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions were particularly effective and smooth because the villagers demonstrated a good understanding of the principles of rational drug use, highlighting the positive impact of the educational efforts in reinforcing the significance of proper medication management.

Abstract

Dengue fever has become one of the endemic diseases in the Sukmajaya area of Depok. This disease can claim the lives of up to 10% of those affected. Community empowerment, particularly through the empowerment of PKK groups. This community service aims to increase the community's ability to prevent the spread of the Aedes aegypti mosquito through empowering the PKK group community. It can prevent the spread of mosquitoes by introducing natural materials as mosquito repellents and creating lotion and spray products as alternative solutions. The program involves training and assistance in producing lotions and sprays using natural ingredients. Using essential oils as raw materials, along with marketing techniques, can be a solution to address this issue. The Community Service Team of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Science (FFS) UHAMKA and the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UHAMKA provided comprehensive training and guidance in the pharmacy skills program. Participants were instructed on creating lotion and mosquito repellent spray formulations using natural ingredients, including orange leaf extract, orange oil, lavender oil, and clove oil. The training consisted of lectures followed by a hands-on workshop on entrepreneurship, focusing on the importance of selecting appropriate packaging and promoting the products effectively. Participants are very enthusiastic about acquiring this skill because it enhances the capabilities of PKK administrators in utilizing natural materials in forms that will later boost the spirit of entrepreneurship and help prevent dengue fever.

Abstract

The potential of velvet apple plants (Diospyros blancoi A. DC) is large, further research is still needed to determine the anti-inflammatory effect on velvet apple stems (Diospyros blancoi A. DC). The purpose of this study was to determine the anti-inflammatory activity of 96% ethanol extract of velvet apple stems against the reduction of lymphocytes, monocytes, and neutrophils. A total of 25 male white rats of wistar strain were divided into 5 groups, namely the negative control group, the positive control group (Na diclofenac), the group given 96% ethanol extract of velvet apple stems with several doses, namely doses of 125 mg / kg BB, 250 mg / kg BB and 500 mg / kg BB. All test animals were made air bags on days 1 and 3, then on day 6 test preparations and carrageenan induction were carried out. On the 7th day blood was taken through the retroorbital sinuses, then the calculation of lymphocytes, monocytes, neutrophils using a microscope was carried out and the data were analyzed using One-way Anova and Kruskal Wallis test. The results showed a higher percentage of negative lymphocytes, monocytes, and neutrophils compared to the treatment group. In the treatment group, the dose of 500mg/kgBB had a significant decrease in the percentage of lymphocytes, monocytes, neutrophils compared to the negative group (p<0.05) and was not significantly different from the positive control group. Ethanol extract 96% velvet apple stem dose 500 mg/kg body weight has the greatest anti-inflammatory activity against decreasing the percentage of lymphocytes, monocytes, and neutrophils. DC) yang besar, sehingga perlu penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengetahui efek antiinflamasi pada batang apel beludru (Diospyros blancoi A. DC). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas antiinflamasi ekstrak etanol 96% batang apel beludru terhadap penurunan limfosit, monosit, dan neutrofil. Sebanyak 25 ekor Tikus putih jantan galur wistar dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif, kelompok kontrol positif (Na diklofenak), kelompok yang diberi ekstrak etanol 96% batang apel beludru dengan beberapa dosis yaitu dosis 125 mg/kgBB, 250 mg/kgBB dan 500 mg/kgBB. Semua hewan uji dibuat kantung udara pada hari ke-1 dan ke-3, lalu pada hari ke-6 dilakukan pemberian sediaan uji dan induksi karagenan. Pada hari ke-7 diambil darah melalui sinus retroorbitalis, kemudian dilakukan perhitungan sel limfosit, monosit, dan neutrofil menggunakan mikroskop. Data dianalisis menggunakan One-way Anova dan uji Kruskal Wallis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah limfosit, monosit, dan neutrophil kelompok kontrol negatif lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok perlakuan. Pada kelompok perlakuan, pemberian ekstrak dosis 500mg/kgBB mengalami penurunan persentase jumlah limfosit, monosit, neutrofil terbesar secara signifikan dibandingkan kelompok negatif (p<0,05) dan tidak berbeda bermakna dengan kelompok kontrol positif. Ekstrak etanol 96% batang apel beludru dosis 500 mg/kg BB memiliki aktivitas antiinflamasi terbesar terhadap penurunan persentase jumah limfosit, monosit, dan neutrophil. Abstract

Jinten hitam (Nigella sativa L.) adalah tanaman yang memiliki aktivitas imunomodulator. Kandungan biji jinten hitam adalah minyak atsiri, alkaloid, saponin, tanin, polifenol dan minyak lemak. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek imunomodulator ekstrak biji jinten hitam dengan parameter fagositosis makrofag dan peningkatan imunoglobulin G. Penelitian menggunakan 30 ekor mencit balb/c yang dibagi ke dalam 6 kelompok. Kelompok I diberi ekstrak n-heksana dengan dosis 1,6843 mg/20 gBB, kelompok II diberi eksrak etil astat dosis 0,2682 mg/20 gBB, kelompok III diberi eksrak metanol dosis 0,4272 mg/20 gBB, kelompok IV kontrol positif menggunakan Imboost® dosis 0,065 mg/20 gBB, kelompok V diberi CMC 0,5%, dan kelompok VI kontrol negatif siklofosfamid dosis 2 mg/20gBB. Ekstrak diberikan selama 21 hari, hari ke-7 dan hari ke-14 masing-masing mencit diinjeksikan SRBC (Sheep Red Blood Cells) intraperitoneal. Pada hari ke-21 darah mencit diambil untuk diambil serumnya, kemudian kadar IgG diperiksa dengan ELISA reader. Fagositosis makrofag dilihat berdasarkan aktivitas dan kapasitas makrofag dari sediaan apus cairan intraperitoneal, dengan menghitung persentase 100 makrofag yang melakukan fagositosis. Kapasitas fagositosis ditetapkan berdasarkan jumlah lateks yang difagositosis oleh 50 makrofag aktif. Hasil yang didapatkan ekstrak biji jinten hitam memiliki potensi sebagai imunomodulator dan ekstrak n-heksana memiliki potensi yang tinggi sebagai imunostimulator diban-dingkan ekstrak lain dengan hasil rata-rata presentasi aktivitas fagositosis makrofag 89,5% dan kapasitas fagositosis makrofag 1204 lateks, begitu juga hasil dengan uji IgG. Kata kunci: jinten hitam, imunomodulator, IgG, makrofag.
