Abstract

This study aims to describe the creativity profile of students with reflective and impulsive cognitive styles in solving open-ended mathematical problems involving fractions. This study is descriptive qualitative in nature. The subjects of this study were fifth-grade students at Surojoyo Public Elementary School who were selected through the Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT), consisting of two reflective students and two impulsive students. The subject selection technique was purposive sampling. The data collection techniques used open-ended problem tests and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that reflective students optimally fulfilled the four indicators of creativity, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Reflective students were able to produce various alternative answers, use diverse strategies, and explain the steps to the solution in detail. In contrast, impulsive students only showed good ability in the fluency indicator, but were still limited in flexibility and originality. Impulsive students tended to use simple and homogeneous solution strategies to obtain answers quickly

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to measure the creative thinking ability of eighth-grade students in geometry material at Muhammadiyah Sempor Middle School. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The technique for selecting subjects uses a purposive method with two selected subjects. The data collection techniques employed are observation, tests , interviews, and field notes methods. The steps in data analysis include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. Based on the findings of the research conducted on eighth-grade students at Muhammadiyah Sempor Middle School, it was concluded that the creative thinking ability demonstrated by students in solving geometry problems is still at a fairly creative level. This is because students are limited in answering questions in two ways ; they have not been patient in compiling answers in detail (writing knowns , asked questions, steps/stages, and final conclusions), leading them to focus immediately on working on mathematical models. Furthermore, students have not been able to solve problems in their own unique and unconventional ways, so they continue to use the methods provided by the teacher. Students also encounter obstacles, such as being inconsistent in writing units and mathematical symbols in the form of roots. Additionally, students demonstrate inaccuracy in writing the names of the angles of the triangle

Abstract

This study aims to analyze global research trends in Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) in mathematics learning during the 2021-2025 period and to map dominant themes and scholarly collaboration patterns. A quantitative bibliometric approach was employed using international publications retrieved from Dimensions AI and analyzed with VOSviewer to visualize co-authorship, co-citation, and keyword co-occurrence networks. The results indicate a declining trend in RME-related publications over the past five years, although the topic remains pedagogically relevant. AIP Conference Proceedings emerged as the most productive publisher, while the Journal of Physics: Conference Series recorded the highest number of citations. Author analysis identified Armiati as the most productive researcher, and keyword mapping revealed the dominance of themes related to instructional design, realistic contexts, and effectiveness, with recent research trends focusing on systematic studies and the implementation of RME at the elementary school level. Overall, the findings provide a comprehensive overview of global research trends in Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) and offer valuable insights for guiding future research and supporting innovation in mathematics education.
